Just back from a 3 night camping stay at South Allington. It was a great site, with all you could need. Hot showers, clean toilets, cleaned daily and stocked up daily. A freezer for cold packs/ ice blocks, washer dryer and charging points all available. But still with a back to basics and nature feel, on a beautiful country scene. The crows nesting in a neighbouring tree were a little annoying and persistent with their cawing all day, but quiet by night. And mostly out in the daytime anyway. Nice town nearby Kingsbridge with great fish and chips and beaches all easily in reach, with 30 minute drive to Bigbury-on-Sea, or 20 minutes to private Blackpool sands. We would go back.

Wonderful, well kept facilities with great character, beautiful gardens and amazing skyscape at night. Outstanding services - lovely bathrooms, great recycling, gorgeous grounds and lovely people. It was an easy walk to a lovely beach and a very relaxed atmosphere. I loved it and appreciated it.

Lovely place. The only downside was there were a lot of cigarette butts where we had our tent. There is also no signal.
Lovely picturesque site

Lovely site in beautiful location. Be aware that there aren't any fridges, only a freezer for ice packs. Also no fire pits or BBQs to hire. Otherwise a really lovely couple of fields, super quiet at night and very beautiful, amazing stars every night!

We arrived to a well organised campsite. It clearly attracts campers who are polite and respectful of other campers. Facilities are looked after and refreshed daily, plenty of hot water and conveniences etc. The campsite was fully booked when we arrived but it's layout meant it never seemed crowded. They have a notice board with your yellow ticket pegged as you come up the drive, this gives your plot number and directions in a map for the site. Location is great if you want to get away from it all. We had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend the campsite.

Lovely site, felt very relaxed as soon as we arrived, met lots who have been going back for years, I understand why they have. You feel like you've gone back to basics but not uncomfortably - the showers were never cold. You lose contact with everything as not a great phone connection, but if you're desperate you can walk to the top of the field, get a signal and watch the sun set- I'd definitely return.

Very peaceful as it is miles from anywhere down very narrow lanes. Great for finding deserted beaches, or foot ferry to Salcombe. Washing machines were out of action when we stayed, so a spin dryer and clothes line would have been useful. Also a floodlight was left on all night on our last night, not sure why, a bit annoying. Bring a fridge box and freezer packs because the only local shop doesn't have much. Climb the hill behind to get mobile reception - the local phone boxes have had their phones removed. We stayed 2 extra nights. The listing photos were taken while we were there in July, hence the brown grass.

Really lovely site, close to beaches and facilities were great. Only problem was another group did not follow the “keep dog on leads” rule which isn’t the sites fault!
Great all round

Great site. Lovely views of the house and valley. Very peaceful. You can hear the running water from the nearby stream. Facilities well done in an old farm building.

Lovely campsite, in an ideal location if you want to walk and go to the beach. The setting is beautiful among hills with a lovely lake. It felt very back to nature. But with the advantage of showers (and other facilities). The service was excellent. They were incredibly helpful and patient, even when I changed my booking last minute (twice!). And really accomodating in making sure the pitch was right for me. The only draw backs from my point of view were that you are not allowed fire pits only BBQs, but I noticed this rule wasn't strictly enforced. And you do have to drive to get to a local pub and shop.
