Although it is a distance from any local facility, we would definitely stay again. We didn't need the pub, we stayed a while in the communal lounge playing board games and enjoying the warmth it provided. The shower facilities were extremely clean and well provided, the kitchen was a great addition which we weren't expecting. We didn't have to meet anyone to book in, which suited us fine. We were sent a text with our pitch number which was easy to find and it meant we could turn up at our leisure. Highly recommend Farditch Farm to anyone staying with a camper or caravan.

The location is good, as we knew it was, and the facilities are very good and clean. We arrived at the site as 13:25, only to find it was not available as the previous people had not left, so we waited until they packed up and left. Not the pitch we would have chosen as the road noise was very bad but overall, a nice little site.

Thank you for your review. Sorry your pitch wasn't ready when you arrived, this very rarely happens. We are happy to try to accommodate any pitch requests wherever possible, please do visit us again!

A small site with gravel pitches. No levelling needed. Fully serviced. Each pitch is 3 sides surrounded by plants to create seclusion. Only thing missing was a bit of grass for the dog to lay on. A large building contains beautiful showers, a disabled shower, full kitchen including washing machine and a communal room with sofas etc. Outside there is a large field and also a small paddock for dog walking. 30 minutes walk to nearest pub in Chelmorton, which sells lovely food. Bus stops nearby. The downside was it's situated on a busy route for lorries and other traffic. It's also on the flight path for Manchester Airport so it's not as quiet as other Peak sites.

The facilities on the site were fantastic, the pitches were spaced out and the site was lovely and quiet. There was no fuss checking in or out, we received an email with our pitch number and everything was clearly signposted when we arrived. It was a shame that our pitch was not on grass when we had a booking with dogs as it made it a little difficult to tie them up without a stake. It wouldn't stop us staying again though now that we're aware.

Good facilities but not enough space between pitches

Small campervan pitch was really close to the neighbouring van which had a dog which was not friendly. We booked this site because of its proximity to the local village pub so we could call for a meal and drinks, and then have a quiet night in the Peak District. The pub strangely was closed on a Tuesday. As we had no food we drove into Buxton for a meal then decided because of the pitch, not the facilities, rather than drive back to the site, just to continue our journey home and not stay the night.

Thank you for taking the time to review, we take all comments on board. We do advise booking local eateries, just to be on the safe side.

Only a short stay, but Farditch is far better than other sites for cleanliness and the facilities, showers as good as your own home. Small and friendly site, enclosed dog run is great

This caravan site is ok. The facilities are good and very clean. The major issues are the caravan pitches are in a square, so all you see are other vans on the site. This is such a shame when the surrounding countryside is beautiful. The other issue is the noise from the main road which is used by a lot of motorbikes, who appear to use it as a race track, or that is what it sounds like. The local village has a good pub.

A real gem of a holiday park which is thoughtfully laid out and very well kept . The hardstanding full serviced pitches are lined with established plants which fence off your boundaries, which we loved as it made it more private. With 3 nosey cocker spaniels, this made our stay more enjoyable. The dog field was fully secure and a stones throw away from the pitches which was convenient for early morning and late night toilet trips! The shower and toilet facilities were beautifully cleaned (I run my own cleaning business so I am very fussy, ask my partner) and the kitchen and lounge were always clean and tidy too. A real credit to the owners and staff who we didn't see which wasn't a problem to us. As long as the facilities are well looked after and checked regularly which clearly they are. Thankyou we would definitely recommend and come back too.

Fabulous site, with super clean facilities! I loved the self check in, made it so easy to arrive when you wanted with no stress. Also the late check out was a firm favourite for us workers to enjoy a lay-in.

Found it easy to book and was informed of our pitch and procedure before we arrived. The site was clean and tidy, the pitches were level, the toilet block was also clean and tidy. The only thing I could suggest would be a small hose attached to a tap next to the Elson Point. Location was superb for the local area and only 5 minute drive to Buxton.

We only booked this site due to its location when travelling from Harrogate to Shropshire but we were very surprised at the high standard & cleanliness of the facilities. The showers were large with plenty of space to get dressed after and there was even a kitchen area with a cooker, microwave, 2 fridges and other appliances at our disposal. There is also a very clean and comfy lounge are where there was plenty of local information. Only 2 minor negatives, the road noise alongside the pitch and the self closing door to the toilet and showers, which is next to pitch 16. This bangs every time someone goes in or out, a simple fix would be to add some foam to it's surround and would be very welcomed to campers. Nice views and lovely sunset from campsite. Easy access into Buxton and Bakewell.

Thank you John, I am glad we surpassed your expectations. We will definitely take a look at softening the close on the facilities door. Many thanks and best wishes, Rebecca

The site was superbly clean and tidy but with a lack of reception, shop or even local information. Situated in a stunning area it is such a shame that the 11 pitches are situated around a tarmac area with tall trees/ hedges behind each pitch. The road directly behind the site is also very noisy. We headed home after 4 nights despite being booked being booked for 7. Disappointing.
Site's response
Thank you for your review, I am glad you like the cleanliness of the site. With just 11 touring pitches and being 3 miles from Buxton, where there is a wealth of shops from outdoor shops to 24hr convenience and even a superb caravan parts and repair business, I'm not sure a shop would be beneficial to either party, or necessary. We don't have a reception as we run the farm alongside the park as well as having a young family so we can't guarantee being on site for your arrival. This is why we send all important information to you by email, which includes our direct contact information. There is however a maintenance person on site every morning weekdays and I am based in the office, on site, most weekdays, should you need to speak to someone. We have a wealth of local information in the facilities lounge and there were at least 2 information books there during your stay, you may have noticed that the information wall is currently being expanded with local walks from the doorstep. We have very clear pictures of the site and the pitches on our listing on Campsites. They show the pitches are 'all weather' and the trees provide a wind break, as the Peak District can be rather wet and windy at times, the wild birds like the gardens too. We do have an open field at the entrance to the facilities with amazing views which is available for your leisure. The road can be busy at times but it does quieten in the evening. It provides very easy access to caravans and large motorhomes. Sorry you felt disappointed by you trip but hopefully I have cleared up a few of the issues. Best wishes, Rebecca

A lovely little campsite in a village. Facilities are spotless, you have use of a washing machine in large kitchen area and sachets of tea and coffee are available. The common lounge area is large and the sofas are comfy. Bus service into Buxton and Bakewell nearby and the showers were good. Early morning and late evening could hear traffic noise but it was not a bother. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Good location. Pitch was a fully serviced (I.e. running water, grey waste disposal and electric). Hard standing pitch, facilities exceptional. Was a large kitchen and sitting room if you wished to use them. Dogs allowed. Views from site 180 degrees. Washing facilities and disabled facilities. Would go again.

We had a great overnight stay with my two daughters, the site was immaculate with fantastic facilities. Lovely walk to The Church Inn, a lovely pub around a 30 minute walk away, which served great food. We will definitely be revisiting this site, the location is great for exploring Derbyshire.

Pros: lovely campsite, with great facilities: accessible kitchen area, lovely shower block and a lounge area. Great field area to play on / walk your dog too. Close to local tourist destinations. Cons: some road noise, although didn't really bother us, campervan pitches are close to each other, and not everyone respected the 'keep dog on lead' policy. Overall, would visit again.
