We had an extremely enjoyable holiday at your lovely campsite! The only comments I'd make are that some food items weren't available in the beach bar one evening and the menu was already quite limited. Also, T-shirts hadn't been ordered for the art activities, which my children were disappointed about. My wife also encountered a problem with the candyfloss machine in the arcade. The female member of staff wasn't particularly helpful when it wasn't working, but do understand that the machine isn't your property. We'd definitely come back though as everything else was perfect!

This campsite was lovely, the staff at reception were nice, especially Sophie. The staff at the pool area weren't, especially the manager. I tried to book straightaway online as there are unlimited slots for the pool. The online service wouldn't let me book a slot, so I emailed them as the reception wasn't open, no answer. So I went down and spoke to the manager of the pool as soon as it was open. The manager said that there is nothing for 4 days. Which was very disappointing, as we were only there for 3 days. I went to reception and they managed to get us in, 2 days later. You're not allowed big inflatables, we had a medium size one, walked in with it and the man on reception of the pool said it was fine. We had at least 4 different lifeguards come up to us and tell us we weren't allowed it. I explained that the man on reception of the pool said it was fine. In the end, the Head lifeguard told me I didn't walk past him in the pool reception, I told him, he was talking to someone at the time and didn't see me walk in. So in the end, I just took the inflatable out of the pool because of the hassle it was causing and it wasn't worth it, as we were trying to enjoy. The pool itself was nice and lukewarm. The food in the establishment was poor. A burger was just bread and the meat, and half of the stuff that you paid for with the meal didn't come with it as they ran out. I did have a refund but it would take a few days to get back into my account. The chips were always undercooked. We had breakfast on the Monday and we had to wait an hour. They told us after we paid that it would be half an hour wait, which I didn't want to wait. However, if I had asked for a refund, I would have had to wait 3 days for it to return to my account, and I wouldn't have been able to go somewhere else as that was the last of my money, so we didn't have a choice. It didn't seem that busy at all so unsure why it took so long. The entertainment area didn't have enough tables and chairs for people to sit down and watch the show. No cash machines, only at reception, which closes at 7pm. Need cash for the arcade. The pitch area was very good, not far from the shower blocks, which was always very clean and staff there were friendly. It was 10 minutes from town which was lovely and lots of food options there too.

We were very impressed with the spacious pitch sizes, plenty of room and the site was regularly maintained. The cleaning ladies were amazing in the shower block and it was a continuous task.

Really big, spacious site. Pitches are very generously sized. Great for the whole family with park, arcade, outdoor kids entertainment and a disco area. Lots of toilet and shower facilities across the campsite, our pitch was ideally right by a toilet and shower and they were kept clean periodically throughout the day. Only downfall was the swimming pool facilities, only allowed 2 bookings for a 5 nights stay, bookings were all gone on our stay except at 9am starts, which is a bit early for our family, then having to chance it for the rest of the week with walk ins. We however have an autistic child, so queuing up and having to wait for walk ins is not ideal for us, and can be quite distressing for her, so means we did not get to access the pool on our 5 nights stay.
Great stay, could have stopped another week

A great site. The toilets and showers near us could have been better, but we saw others round site that were newer, so I guess they're going through to update them.
Not very happy with the site

There were people in the family outside bar area who were drunk. The bouncer spoke to them but they just laughed at him and he walked off. Very dirty and sticky in bars. The shared toilet were a mess and a larger can was in the the toilet for 6 days and was never removed. Loud music from caravans having a party at 1 in the morning, campfires going when we were told that they are not allowed. Not a relaxing break, so left two days early.
Good but expensive

This is a nice park set in a scenic location. Pitches are a good size, and there is plenty of hedging which adds privacy and shelter from the wind. The toilet blocks were regularly cleaned and in good condition. The park is well maintained overall and staff are friendly. However, it was very disappointing that despite the top end fees (I paid £350 to pitch a tent for just three nights), almost everything but the pool required significant additional payments. The (unsurprisingly empty) crazy golf was £7.50 a head.

Overall, had a pleasant week and despite wet weather made most of it and had some good day trips out,. The pool was great and staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately though, the men's toilet/shower block was often dirty and toilets were revolting, inner shower doors frequently not closing. The car park gate painfully slow to open on number of occasions when returning to site. On one occasion, it would not open at all (fine leaving). Had noisy neighbour in tent behind constantly swearing late into night, we have young children so did not appreciate this. Water comes out ridiculously fast out of taps in washing up room, and found myself soaked a few times just trying to wash up a few pots and pans. Found nowhere on site to recycle bottles, my wife asked at reception and was told to throw bottles in bin. The hedges and bushes are cut by a team of gardeners that don't seem to know what they are doing, as a number of bushes were left half trimmed round site. Do not intend to return anytime soon.
Beautiful place, very clean there

Beautiful, clean place. Staff really nice. Pool was lovely for older and younger children. Toilets and showers were very clean. Only downfall was that we were staying right by the main road, so not much sleep as lots of traffic going through until late at night and again very early in the morning. Don't recommend staying at the ash spot while staying there.

We paid for super pitch 207 and the size of this plot was massive, with 2 electric hook up points, others normally offer 1 hook up. Paid for private bathroom, shower cubicle was massive, but bathroom overall small, but adequate for what we needed. Locks to doors worn, needs attention. Drinks very expensive at the club house. Exceptional entertainment for the children. Security, was nice to see them driving around site, but at late at night or early in morning, think the car should be an electric vehicle to keep noise down when people are sleeping. Overall, the site is very well maintained. The staff, from first booking in to leaving, were second to none. Would we we stay again? 100% yes.

The whole park is extremely well presented. Lovely landscaping everywhere. We stayed on an ultra pitch for the week and the facilities were excellent. So nice to have your own bathroom, bench and washing up sink. The pool area was lovely and the pool was a lovely 30 degrees. Very well run and all the staff very friendly. Thanks for a lovely week.

Monkey Tree is a beautiful campsite. Clean and well kept, with great facilities. Only downside was noisy campers who partied until the early hours. Not really for older couples looking for peace and quiet, although we still enjoyed our stay.

Only stayed for 2 nights because of the miserable weather, but really liked the quieter, super deluxe sites with private bathroom. Loads of activities and facilities for children. Short drive to great beaches.

Our first time staying at Monkey Tree and it didn't disappoint one bit! Stayed for 5 nights and it was lovely and quiet. Only downside was our 5 year old water baby couldn't go in the deeper end of the pool despite there being two adults in with her. Otherwise, we had an amazing time and even considered staying a few extra nights as 5 was not nearly enough. Beach was a 10 minute drive and easy to navigate around Newquay, so much to do for families and kids. Food options were not very good but not sure if that just with the time we came, but the supermarket was very reasonably priced and had everything you could ever need when camping. We will definitely be back!

Good but felt it was overrated

We arrived at Monkey Tree and we were taken back by how beautifully kept the park was, with stunning plants and greenery. We booked the super deluxe site, with the bathroom and sheltered BBQ area. We checked in and the receptionist forgot to give us our bathroom key (which was annoying). We found our spot, unpacked and showered. The shower was blocked immediately but luckily I had bleach. The site was lovely but the more time spent on there, we realised all of the facilities and activities advertised aren't on until the 6 weeks holiday. The soft play was great but wasn't open on time, the play areas are also amazing. One major thing was that the children were being threatened for their belongings (scooters and bikes) by other children. This has put me off massively and won't be returning, especially as the pitch we booked was £829 for private use of a bathroom. We didn't think was worth it when everything was closed until "official summer". Also, the pool was freezing as it isn't heated, and the laundrette is £5 a wash, £2 to dry and it doesn't dry the first time round. Security is on site but don't do anything. Overall, a great holiday as we went out everyday. There was just a lot I'd change on the site tbh. I don't normally leave reviews but I felt it's defo overrated and expensive for what it is. Thanks anyway.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are glad you enjoyed the soft play and outdoor pay equipment while on park with us. Our gardening and grounds team will be thrilled to know you appreciated their hard work, making Monkey Tree a beautiful site. We apologise that you were not able to experience the full entertainment schedule as it was a quiet time. If at anytime you felt threated by other children's behaviour we always ask that any problems are reported to reception and we would of been happy to assist you with this further by talking to their parents, this could of been resolved during your stay with us. The pool is heated everyday but as you can understand, on days with overcast weather, the pool will seem cooler then anticipated. Our security team work hard to keep everyone on park safe, we are glad to hear they 'didn't do anything', which must mean all campers were abiding by our rules. However, if an incident was to occur our security team would go beyond to make sure any situation is dealt with correctly behind the scenes to ensure this did not affect other customers stay. Please feel free to email us if you have more feedback. Kind Regards, The Reception Team.

This place is truly amazing! It's immaculately clean and tidy, the pitches were huge, and flat. The staff here are the best you will ever find on a family holiday park, I've stayed on hundreds, trust me, the staff here actually care about your stay! They're friendly, polite, smart, and you can tell they truly love their jobs- well done. Thank you all for a truly amazing family holiday. We are 1000% returning, because it really was 10 out of ten for everything! Completely perfect from the moment we arrived, we absolutely loved it!

Had a brilliant stay at Monkey Tree Holiday Park. The weather was rubbish but can't be helped! My only comment would be the older toilet block which was closest to our pitch became dirty very quickly daily, and the flushes weren't great on either toilet. Other than that, all the staff were lovely, especially the maintenance team who helped with a problem on our van! The kids entertainment was brilliant, as well as the parks and arcades, the whole site is very well maintained and we felt very safe there and allowing our kids to play freely

Well maintained, clean campsite with good facilities. Small playgrounds scattered around the site for the little ones, a big one in the main area, football/basketball pitch. Lovely, clean swimming pool.

Enjoyed our stay, campsite nice and clean, food was good in the club. Entertainment was always good, enjoyed the magician and the comedian. The only thing that puzzled me was that I booked an electric serviced pitch, which in our experience, usually includes water on the pitch, but the pitch we were put on only had electricity. Not really a problem, but if advertised as serviced pitches, we thought that this would normally include water? Unfortunately, the weather was rubbish so we left a day early to beat the nightmare Friday traffic, nothing to do with Monkey Tree.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. For water on the pitches, these are our super pitches if you would like to stay with us again, we do apologise for any confusion caused. Thanks again for your review and we hope to see you again.

The campsite is very pleasant with everything you need. My only criticism is that as soon as you enter the site, you lose all touch with the outside world there is, it doesn't matter if you have 4g and signal on your phone, you don't get any service. I finally got a telephone call from the site when I left, which to be fair is not good. If you want to purchase the site Wi-Fi, I felt it was an unreasonable price and you don't need this when you are currently paying for your mobile phone service.

Thank you for your great feedback. We are looking into the WIFI issues as we use a third party. We thank you for your feedback.
