Such a shame you’re so dog averse!

I feel you shouldn't list yourselves as dogs allowed. There was not a dog bin in sight, hence the poo bags being placed into general waste bins. There were no dogs allowed in any of the bar or restaurant areas. I feel that expecting us to pay for the dogs to stay and then also expecting us to sit outdoors in the middle of winter in a non-enclosed outside area with blankets seems laughable. We were looking forward to a meal and a few drinks in your restaurant/bar, but were not able to. We've travelled all over the UK and to many dog friendly sites which feel wonderfully inviting and we would certainly return to many of them. If travelling without a fur family, the pitches and facilities are of a good standard. However, be prepared for bin trucks, leaf blowers and general noisiness first thing in the morning if situated at base camp. Again, a shame as the pitches do deliver! All in all, a disappointing stay. I think the management/owners of the campsite would prefer a no dog policy, rather than charge per dog and offer a frosty reception.

We were so impressed with this site. The pitches are dotted about amongst trees and meadows. Very clean and tidy. The restaurant/shop/bar is exceptional and the food is amazing and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.
Facilities great, but felt that the staff were unfriendly and not helpful

We arrived on the Sunday. We parked up and went to the base camp for lunch to be told we were unable to have anything as we needed to book this, I did not see this in any of the info I had. We asked if we could have a sandwich as we had nothing with us and we like to use facilities on site, particularly this time of year to help put money back into the site. We were turned away, cold and hungry 😕 The following day we found that the fish sandwiches are only available on certain days, I don't think you keep any food within your kitchen and must have deliveries on the day. What about residents with food allergies, can you not cater for them either?
Site's response
Hello Sarah, We are sorry that you were disappointed at not being able to get a table with us on Sunday. We do get very busy on Sundays and state that booking is essential. This information is provided in our pre-arrival information guide which I can see was emailed to you on 14th November. See extract below: "The Bar, Kitchen, Café, Shop and Information Centre opening times vary throughout the year. Please call for more details. We ask that you book a table if you would like to eat in BASECAMP; Booking essential for Sunday Roasts. BASECAMP offers cakes and scones, breakfast, lunch and evening meals including gourmet burgers, specialty pizzas and some pub style classics". We do have a fairly extensive menu and cater for food allergies. Please let us know if you had a food allergy that we were unable to accommodate.

Lovely stay at Clippesby. Helpful staff helped us to rent out bikes and showed us routes. They also offered bingo and quiz on one of our nights, which was fun!
What an amazing place, can't wait to come back

The break that we wanted and needed. The place and location was ideal for us. The staff where welcoming and helpful, couldn't fault anyone. The facilities were great and housekeeping have done a great job in keeping showers and toilets clean, especially as it was wet the first part of the week. The only moan really is the shower heads need descaling. As an afterthought, maybe consider shower panels as it's difficult to keep mould and dirt out of the grout, but all in all, we would come back. Thank you for the break, certainly needed.
Worth a visit

Quiet, clean and tidy. Nice bar and café and well stocked small shop, so all in all, worth a visit. We will be going again.

Our first experience of Clippesby Hall was nothing short of fantastic. The facilities were impeccably clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. We were particularly impressed by the ample disabled facilities, which made us feel confident that our disabled nephew would have a comfortable stay. The pitch layout was spacious, allowing our Labrador to run freely on his 10-meter lead without encroaching on the neighboring pitches. As dog owners, we appreciated the convenient dog shower facilities and numerous recycling points, which helped us keep the campsite clean and tidy. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals at Basecamp, especially the delicious vanilla lattes and the tasty dinner we had on the terrace with our dog. The friendly and helpful staff made us feel welcome and valued. Overall, our stay at Clippesby Hall was exceptional. We highly recommend this campsite to other dog owners and hope to return in the future, with more family members.

Spacious site, thankful for a dog free area, good clean sanitary facilities close at hand. "Base Camp" reception, shop and café area, again spacious and well staffed. Excellent pizzas and well stocked bar, beer festival was a bonus! Need to book a table in the restaurant as it is very popular at busy times but food service was quick, despite being full.

Great site. Base camp being reception, shop and bar restaurant. Bar prices are good compared to local pubs. Restaurant food! Well! You get plenty and good food. Overall, we are coming back.

Really well set out campsite. Set in beautiful grounds with lovely old trees and lovely countryside around. Lots of choice where you would like to set up, with different areas. Showers and washing up facilities close by. There was also a really nice bar/restaurant/cafe and shop on the site, again really well done and laid out, with a pretty area to sit outside too. Would definitely stay again and would recommend.

Excellent site. Lots to do for the kids. Very clean and lots of shower blocks. Only downside was that the washer ate my trousers 😳 so be careful with what you are putting in. Maybe I put it on the wrong setting as everything else was fine.
Fantastic pitch!

Our pitch was set in the orchard - it's the biggest pitch I've stayed and in a beautiful area amongst the pine trees. They could have crammed so many more tents in, but choose not to. The ground is gravel rather than a grass pitch, so take strong pegs. There is grass surrounding the pitch though. The showers and toilets are regularly cleaned, the shower could have been more powerful though which is my only gripe. There's a bar, restaurant, games room, zip wire, football pitch, shop and mini golf, so lots to do for the kids and my 3 boys enjoyed it (16, 14, 19). I'd definitely return.

This is our second visit to Clippesby. The site is set in a beautiful wooded area, which is very well kept. Very peaceful location and amenities are second to none. We stayed on plot 122, which is in the Heath. Lovely quiet and private location for several caravans, tents or campervans. Wooded area, with a central clearing. We had takeaway twice and thoroughly enjoyed both meals, but in particular the wonderful roast dinner and jam sponge with custard. The food is absolutely beautiful and tasted like home from home. Beautifully presented in takeaway boxes. I thought the food was priced fairly and the portion size was generous. The shower blocks are modern and gleaming. The cleaning team do an amazing job. If we had one criticism, it would be the lack of Wi-Fi on the individual pitches. This is exacerbated by the lack of a mobile signal. I really feel in this day and age, there is an expectation that we can connect online. Not everyone will agree with me and that is fine. Personally, I like to access the internet and use my phone, without having to go to basecamp. If the Wi-Fi and mobile phone signal was sorted out, then with out doubt, Clippesby would be our favourite campsite. If you are on the fence about visiting, don't be. You will have an amazing time. Thank you to all the staff who work incredibly hard and do an amazing job.
