Twin Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesJun 2022

Lovely friendly people. The grounds were incredibly well kept, nice short tidy grass, pitch sizes are good and roomy. The facilities w/c, showers and washing up area are conveniently located in the centre of the campsite and waste water and chemical toilet disposal areas not too far away, and kept very clean and tidy. We had a lovely stay, nice for children to run about and play, dog friendly.

Very good, clean and flat site

Motorhome - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2022

Very friendly and clean toilets. Made us feel welcome, only down side is that it's on the flight path for East Midlands Airport. Field good, short grass, every pitch has its own E/hook up and water.

Beautiful campsite

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesJun 2022

Lovely welcome when we arrived in our motorhome. The site was not very busy so we were told we could choose our pitch. We had booked a fully serviced pitch. Beautiful outlook, large pitches and the sun shone. The shower and washing up facilities were spotless and credit to the guys/gals in charge. We had a lovely stay and even contemplated staying another night, but we had already booked our next stop (if we had known what was coming we would have stayed where we were). There is a pub in the local village but unfortunately, the night we walked down, there was a private function on. We did walk to the Mercia Marina along the towpath of the canal, which is worth a visit, lovely shops and an ace tea room. It is quite a walk though. We guessed it was about 4 miles each way - but it was a lovely day and the canal was really peaceful. Would stay again!

Great place to visit

Camping Pod - Plus Glamping Pods with Hot Tubs (Dog Friendly)Jun 2022

Just spent 2 nights here and we really enjoyed it. Weather helped 😆 pod was comfy had most things you needed for a comfy stay. Shower and toilet facilities were very good. Lovely setting just on the flight path for East Midlands but didn't really bother us. Lovely family run site who saved my bacon as I forgot my phone charger (thanks again). Will deffo return. Thanks for a lovely stay.😀

Not as clean as we're used to

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesJun 2022

Stayed last year and loved everything about it. Location, pitch size, facilities, and cleanliness were all perfect - however, for some reason, the toilet cleanliness wasn't quite up to standard this time round. Toilets smelt bad, they weren't very clean at all and no sanitiser in the dispensers either :(

Great place to stay

Small Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2022

Upon arrival we were met by a very friendly gentleman who could not have done more to help us. Really nice, quiet setting, good facilities and very well maintained. I had forgotten my sleeping bag and was lent one to help out - what a nice thing to do! Great people, great campsite. Thank you again, see you next year!

Nice site

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesJun 2022

Nice place with good pitches. Great if you bring a bike as it has lots of cycle paths close by. Sinks and toilets got a bit dirty sometimes but outdoor toilets and showers were good. Shame there were no recycling bins on site.

Beautiful stay

Camping Pod - Plus Glamping Pods with Hot Tubs (Dog Friendly)Jun 2022

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here, thanks for being so welcoming. It's a very clean, beautiful site with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Loved the outdoor showers and the log hot tub. We really enjoyed being in the countryside, cooking outdoors, going for walks and our doggie Nellie loved it too! We will most definitely be returning - thanks again!

Large Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)May 2022

The site is spacious with plenty of room on each pitch. The pitches are round the edge of a large field ideal for playing games and letting the young ones play while being visible. The facilities were as you’d expect although I guess the showers could have a queue in busy periods. The site is under a flight path but for most outdoor types that’s no issue, it wasn’t for us. It’s also convenient for supermarkets, pubs, walks and other adventures. Only grumble was the (later than a lot) curfew of 11pm which did disturb the youngsters but that was known when we booked. Would definitely recommend and use this site again if in the area.

Fun break away

Bell Tent - Plus Lotus Belle Tents with Hot Tub (Dog Friendly)May 2022

We have never done glamping before, we have stayed in our own tent previously. I would highly recommend anyone considering it. We took everything we would normally take camping but really enjoyed all the extras. Facilities were excellent and site is in easy reach of lots of things to do to keep you occupied.

Did not expect a site like this for price!

Small Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)May 2022

I almost don't want to give a good review as I would like to keep this place to myself. The site is lovely and so are the family that run it (including the two Chihuahuas). The site is very well kept and so is the toilet and shower block. It's very peaceful and completely surrounded by beautiful green countryside. There are lovely walks in every direction and a canal literally 3 minutes walk down the road. I am most certainly going to make this place my second home. I only booked 4 nights but ended up staying for 6 nights. I can't speak highly enough of this place.

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesMay 2022

We liked this site a lot. The only problem is the hump backed bridge on the approach on which the rear of our caravan hit the road, so I wouldn't recommend for larger vehicles or caravans.

Camping Pod - Plus Glamping Pods with Hot Tubs (Dog Friendly)Mar 2022

We had such a good time, we even booked an extra night! The campsite is in a beautiful quiet spot. The pod we stayed in was very clean, we had a large decking area and a woodfired hot tub. What a treat to lie in a hot tub and look up at the stars. The shower block was clean and the showers were lovely and hot. There were extra toilets and showers provided behind the block. The most amazing part was the managers of the campsite. Such a lovely family, nothing was too much trouble. They even took us to the train station when we couldn't get a taxi that wasn't extortionate. We had such a lovely chilled time. Will definitely return in the summer.

Signage goes a long way!

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesMar 2022

Arrived at this site on Friday evening after work for a weekend away. The road to the site is a dead end so you would expect clear signage to tell you where the entrance to the site is. It's not even labelled Hill Farm. We ended up driving straight past and then had to reverse a caravan in the pitch black along a narrow road. Eventually got into the site and again, no sign of where to go and no sign of life - it was 6.30pm and dark. Eventually, a young girl came out and said you want to go down there to pitch 10. We drove down in the dark and looked for numbers which, of course, there wasn't anything clearly marked. Walked round the field in the dark with a torch to see where we needed to be and eventually took pot luck at a space. We didn't see the owners again and weren't given any information about the site itself. The site was ok - nothing great but it was fine for 2 nights. I wouldn't stay again due to the location.

Site's response

Many thanks for your review, we value and appreciate your feedback. We are so sorry your stay with us did not meet your expectations. First impressions are important. We have reviewed your comments and will be installing clearer signage in the next few days. We will also ensure that future guests are suitably shown to their pitches, as on this occasion we clearly failed. This, together with improved signage, should prevent these kinds of issues. Once again, many thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve our site for future visitors.
