Rubbish Pitch and left a day early

Wasn't the best of campsites we have visited. We were put on a pitch right on the main entrance to the site and right next to the toilet block. It was very busy around our pitch from being the entrance, next to the toilet block and reception. All the cars would wait outside out pitch with their engines running causing fumes on our pitch, Caravans arriving etc, it also had the noise from a constant rush to the toilets, pot washing area and the hand dryers were load and seemed to be going 24 hours a day. The site had a problem on our first day, with no water in the toilet block so could not have a shower and no flushing toilets. It was also in the area where children would use the area as a race track and congregate at night with some very bad language until 11pm. Not the most pleasant of stays so left a day early.
Site's response
Thank you for your comments, we are sorry that you did not enjoy your time with us. As you chose to stay during school holidays the site was very busy with families enjoying themselves and allowing their children a bit of freedom to play in a safe and relaxed environment, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. We want everyone to have a good holiday and if you had raised your concerns at the time we could have helped to move you to a different pitch. We don't have any pitches by the main entrance but the pitch close to the toilet block does get busy with people walking back and forth. We can only apologise for the water issue which was out of our control and we did our best to resolve it as quickly as possible. The toilets were kept clean and were constantly being flushed with a bucket of water by our staff after every user, we could not control the water running out as it was down to the water company.
Would visit again

Lovely site. Noise from the road is a bit loud and could do with more toilets and showers.

A lovely campsite, with an interesting variety of accommodation options. Self check in was easy and hassle free. The campsite was well maintained, the lake field camping was great and there was plenty of sun in both the morning and evening. There were also very spacious pitches. Facilities were clean and modern. Great to have access to a fridge and freezer (sadly left my ice packs in the freezer, so I hope someone can make use of them!) Lots of people on the site made use of the firepits available and we have resolved to give one a try next time. The site is quite close to A470 so can hear the road noise but not too intrusive. An easy 30 minute walk into Dollgellau, where we had an evening meal in Y Sospan, which was superb. Thanks for a great weekend.

Fantastic location with great walks / hikes nearby. Would love a little shop on site but the village isn’t too far. Very quiet and loads of great views.
Lovely site, but stoney

Great site and set out but stoney making pitching hit and miss with pegs. However not a real issue, just a point to know. Slight issue with our visit was one group being very loud until after midnight despite it supposedly being a 11pm noise curfew, which wasn't great with young children (not a site issue but wasn't enforced).
Interesting location

There was no TV reception, however, the WiFi was excellent and we were able to watch BBC i Player. We didn't use the facilities but we inspected them and they were very good. The staff we spoke to were very pleasant. I was disappointed there was no information at all, re what was around the area no maps to show walks etc, pubs and restaurants. The chemical toilet point was a long way from our pitch and a little work was needed re the area around it. There is a petrol station very close by and the diesel was the cheapest I have bought for a long time !!

We have free leaflets in the ladies & gents toilet/shower block with things to do in the area and the menu for a local restaurant is also displayed for you to browse.

We enjoyed our stay. It’s a great base for exploring north Wales. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a very family friendly park but was very quiet at night, apart from the sounds of nature.

Nice site. No hot water in the showers spoiled an otherwise good stay.
Site's response
Sorry about the water Dan, we had a problem with the boiler, all fixed now and the water is hot again. Hope to see you back here in the future.

Good facilities, clean. Beautiful views of mountains in the distance. Standard sized pitches, not huge amount of room between them though.

5 stars for location, it's in Wales, what more can you ask? Seriously though, it is ideally located to explore the area and it still feels pretty isolated. I have to mention the traffic noise, it's not bad, but it is noticeable in the early hours. It won't stop us visiting again, we plan to head back as soon as the weather is better. We were 3 bikers so weather conditions play a big part in our trips. The site itself is excellent with flat pitches and good ground for tent pegs. It's level as well, so no sliding to the bottom of your tent. We got a friendly meet and greet then we were left to ourselves. We used one of their fire pits and bought some logs and a fire starter kit. Very reasonable price and plenty of logs. The shower/toilet room was just fantastic, very clean and warm, which takes some doing in the middle of winter, well equipped and not too far from the pitches. There are other facilities that we didn't use, a washroom, with a microwave and an outdoor undercover wash area. For the fee we paid, I'm going to say this is the best all-round site we've used this year. Can't wait to go back. We didn't get chance to say goodbye, it's a bit frantic, packing the gear back on the bikes and getting the bike kit on, so, thank you, we had a great stay and we'll see you again next year. All the best, Martin.

Had a couple of days to make the most of, followed by a family gathering so thought I would treat myself to some solitude and a pilgrimage to a certain cottage/shrine related to Led Zeppelin. Living nowadays in East Anglia I need a fix of hills now and then, so along I came to Torrent walks campsite in my van. The site suited my needs in every way. Lovely flat pitches with electric hookup. Clean, modern toilet and shower facilities. On the doorstep are fantastic walks and the magnificent Cadair Idris. Booking and paying were painless and arrival and departure were completely relaxed, which is heavenly after and before a long drive. Can't fault. Perfect, thank you.

Just stayed here with my 3 children age 8, 4 and 3. Not really much to do for kids, but they did love the horses on the field facing. More for couples I'd say. Facilities were nice. Toilets and shower room were clean and warm. Staff where great. Helped if they could. I paid for a grass electric pitch and no problems at all and also had a drinking water tap next to my tent, which was great. All in all I would stay here again, but without my children.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay, the time went by in a flash though. I especially loved the location, so calming and quiet, and the other campers were very respectful about noise. I have only one critcism, we missed the road and had to double back so I'd recommend having a sign at the road entrance by the garage. I certainly will be booking up again.
