About Cannamore Camping
Whether you're looking to surround yourself with nature or kick back and immerse yourself in the rolling Devon countryside, this almost wild camping and glamping site is an ideal base to set up camp. It is only a five minute drive from Dartmoor National Park, making it a great area for scenic walking and cycling routes. When you arrive you have the freedom to pick your own camping spot. All pitches measure around 7m x 7m and allow up to six guests. The non electric grass tent pitches are mown into a wildflower meadow, offering glorious views of the surrounding South Hams countryside. For smaller campervans and caravans there are two grass pitches with optional 16 amp electric hook ups. These are located in a slightly more sheltered area of the Lower Field. Alternatively, you can opt to stay in one of the spacious bell tents, these can sleep up to four or five but are also great for couples. The interior is unfurnished so you will need to bring along all of your own camping gear, just forget the tent and tent pegs. For a cosy stay whatever the weather, enjoy a stay in the charming shepherd's hut. Sleeping up to two, the hut comes with a small double bed (6ft x 3ft9") and bedding. For cooking whilst away, there is a small kitchen area complete with an oven, double hob, toaster, kettle, fridge, pots, pans and sink. You will also be provided with ingredients for a cooked breakfast, along with some cereal to enjoy in the morning. There is a private toilet and shower located nearby for your use only, along with towels. Outside there is also a table and chairs for enjoying meals al fresco. Wildlife is never far away with bumble bees, dragonflies and butterflies all attracted by the wildflower meadow. If you are very lucky you might even get an early morning or late night glimpse of a Roe Deer or two - although they are very shy so you'll need to be very quiet! Up to two dogs are welcome per camping pitch, with one small pup allowed in the shepherd's hut. Please note, the bell tents are pet free. If you want to cook up a tasty dinner, BBQs are permitted but they must be attended at all times. Open fires are only permitted at the site's discretion. The site is licensed by the Woodland Champions Club, helping landowners create and manage woodland for the public to enjoy.
Cannamore Camping is open all year round in 2024 and from 02/01 to 21/12 in 2025.
