Cliff Farm Holidays is a friendly family-run caravan site that also has a couple of lovely glamping options. In the heart of Ryedale and just three miles from the quaint village of Pickering, gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors, a Dark Sky Reserve, this is a perfect retreat for those looking for a bit of peace and quiet. There are hardstanding electric pitches for caravans, a static caravan holiday home and a camping barn for larger groups.

Not my cup of tea. Facilities dated. Farm dog runs around freely. Not good when you have a reactive dog. Area was nice. Flies, guess that comes with a working farm.

Friendly welcome from Simon who works a few days a week on the caravan site. Spoke to owners a couple of times too during our stay and they were friendly too. Views are spectacular. Facilities clean and simple. Generous pitch size and spacing. Grass areas in centre of both caravan fields for children to play etc. Fair pricing, including the extra fee of metered electric upon arrival (we spent £5 over 2 nights for a family of 4). Will be returning.

A great campsite within walking distance of the village of Sinnington. The family who own the site were very welcoming and helpful - I loved how the check-in area is in their lovely farmhouse kitchen! We were able to buy fresh eggs for breakfast in the morning. The showers were the only downside - not very powerful and made rinsing shampoo a bit tricky, but they were nice and warm which is the main thing. All in all, a lovely site and we'd happily return.

Found this site using Campsites.co.uk and chose this particular site due to its closeness to Pickering, having never been. When we arrived at this actual working farm, reception was unmanned, but one of the workers took control and showed me the allocated pitch etc and also explained the need to buy credit for the EHU as it was on a meter setup. I don't think this is the way forward as it seemed a quite expensive tariff, but this site is running that way. Personally, I would be prepared to pay a small increase on pitch fees as £7.50 for three nights seemed quite a lot, considering I used a tv, fridge and warmed the water on an Alde system. Rest of site was ok with walks around the farm laid out and signposted as short, medium and long dependant on your choice. Facilities were ok with hot water aplenty whenever I used the showers. Location was just off the main road with a private drive so easy to go to various places. Views were good as weather allowed which was varied to say the least.

Thank you for your review. We make no money on the electric and you are charged at the same rate that we are billed. We have gone down this route as we thought that it was the fairest way to cover the cost of our electricity. We do refund on departure what electric you haven't used.

Park is in a lovely spot, we took quite a long walk into a village to a gorgeous pub for dinner. The nearest shop is quite a distance away.

Will definitely be going back. Only tiny criticism is it would be nice to have one or two dog poo bins on the amazing walks so you don't have to carry your bags with you all the way round. All good otherwise, a fantastic site.

The caravan park was pretty clean considering it's on a working farm. The grass was pretty wet but the hard standing pitches were good. The owner did say they had a bit of a downpour few days previously.

Thank you for your review. We are on heavy clay land and when the land gets wet, it gets wet! We have hard standing pitches and roads so that the site can be used all year round. We do hope to see you again another time.

We had a great stay at Cliff Farm and would definitely return. We had an added bonus of seeing a calf being born.

Excellent site on a working farm and a convenient central location for multiple places. Be aware that the charge for electricity is additional to what we paid when booking and is put on a pre paid card when arriving at site, but not an issue. In fact, I think it's a great idea, as you pay for what you use and any unused on the card is refunded when leaving. Very friendly and helpful people at the site. Only one minor issue is the shower heads are fixed, set very high and have a wide spray, so you have no choice as to whether you wash your hair or not when taking a shower, It's almost impossible to avoid every part of you getting wet. Other than that, a great few days and would certainly recommend and will definitely go back again.

Thank you for your review. The electric meters are new to us this season and the majority of people are finding them to be a good idea. We are glad that you have enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again soon.

The pitches were all gravel and the one we were on was nice and level. The location is ok for light walking. Not a great deal close around. We walked into Pickering, just short of 4 miles. Local pub in Sinnington and was reasonably priced. My main gripe was the price for electricity.

Lovely campsite. The toilet /shower block was spotless. When we arrived we were asked how much we wanted to put on the card for electric. We were only staying one night so we put £10 and what you don't use you get refunded. We only spent 49 pence and the owner did say campervans tend to only use £2 or £3 per weekend so not too bad!

Excellent place to stay, near Pickering and Helmsley with easy access by bus from Sinnington. The hosts were great and very helpful and the facilities were clean. Lovely to hear the farm animals and wildlife in the morning. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back - couldn't ask for anything more.
