Set in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, this 5 star, dog friendly park is both enticingly close to beaches along the coastline and the charm of Robin Hood's Bay. A set of excellent hardstandings are available all year round at Middlewood Farm, or you can camp on grass pitches, and glamp in the cosy warmth of a pod with heating, lighting and plenty of other creature comforts.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Family Field)Sep 2023

Stayed for 4 nights on the family site in a VW camper with awning. The staff are very approachable, the toilet/shower/washing facilities are dated but all clean. The site is an easy walk into Fylingthorpe (nice pub, good beer and food) or Robin Hood's bay. Would happily go back to this site.

Site's response

Thank you for your great review. We hope to see you again.

VW-Type Campervan - Medium Non Electric Grass PitchesSep 2023

First night in a camper and had everything we needed. Toilets and showers clean and enough for the size of site. 7 minutes walk to the bottom of the hill into Robin Hood's Bay with a path to the cinder track next to the site. Will definitely come back next year.

Site's response

Thank you for your review and look forward to seeing you again.

Wonderful stay at Middlewood site. My wife and I stayed here on our holiday and were happy with everything. Perfect spot in amongst Yorkshire's beauty as well as close to the sea. If we needed a site next time we visit Yorkshire, we would be more than happy to stay here again.

Site's response

Thank you so much for your AMAZING 5 * review.

Beautiful site, friendly staff & very clean. Showers were a bit disappointing as they only had 5 minutes on the timer. But other than that, we really enjoyed our stay & will most definitely be returning soon 👍

Great review, thank you so much.

Large Tent - Large Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

First time campers as a family with two small children. The site was quiet, with nice space between pitches so you felt you had space, even on a bank holiday. Toilets and showers were fine, as we're washing up facilities. I only gave a 4 for facilities as somewhere to get a coffee onsite would be ideal, but I'm nitpicking. Great location a short walk from Robin Hoods Bay. All in all, we loved it!

Site's response

Thank you for your great review. Coffees are available at the local shop, which is only 5 mins walk from the park. We hope to see you again.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Family Field)Aug 2023

Stayed at Middlewood Farm for four nights with my daughters and grandson. Was allocated a pitch next to the play area which, for an old timer like myself, was not what I had hoped for. On returning to reception, we asked if there was another pitch available we could transfer to. I cannot fault the service, they reallocated us to the upper field. The views from here were stunning. The site and facilities on site were clean and spotless. An ideal location to set up a base and explore the surrounding area. We had a great day on the beach at Robin Hood's Bay, a day exploring Whitby and a trip to Dalby forest. We would definitely stay again.

Site's response

Thank you so much for your BRILLIANT review. We hope to see you again soon.

Medium Tent - Large Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

This was our first camping trip in probably ten years and we initially stayed at a site in Lincolnshire for three nights before moving to Middlewood Farm. This site was bigger than the one in Lincolnshire and the toilet block facilities were much better here. Reception was very friendly and the pitches well laid out. It's a great location for Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby is only 15 minutes away by car. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the site.

The site is large and well maintained. However, there are not enough shower facilities for the size of site.

Site's response

Thank you for your review. You obviously never bothered to go to the second toilet block!

It was okay. Convenient for RHB. Covid obsession, with only one person allowed in reception at once, is poor.

Site's response

We can only deal with one person at a time.

VW-Type Campervan - Small Electric Touring Hardstanding PitchesAug 2023

We stayed in a VW campervan. The place is in a good location, clean shower and toilets. You can walk into Robin Hoods Bay, it's about 20 min through fields or you can go the road way. There are a few pubs on the way. You can catch a bus to Scarborough and Whitby. Lovely site.

Thank you for your 5 * review.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Touring PitchAug 2023

We have stayed here before many years ago. Good sized hardstanding pitches for caravan and awning. Walk to Robin Hoods Bay beach is about 15 minutes and not suitable for disabled customers. Only negative really was the lack of general waste bins on site. One large recycle skip, but no dog waste bins or general bins on our side of the pitch. Toilet block could do with updating, but still very functional and the showers were hot so not complaining. I would go back as it is a nice site.

Site's response

Thank you for your review. The skip is 100% recycled. The fact that there are no waste bins dotted round the site is done deliberately. This is to keep the site free of bins so dogs and badgers cannot tip the bins over and make a mess! Guests do not like camping near waste bins.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Family Field)Aug 2023

Lovely campsite with clean facilities. Showers and water were hot quickly, small park area for children to play in the family field. The owners were approachable and dealt with any issues well. We liked that the warden was keen to reinforce the campsite rules, so it remained family friendly. Lovely short walk to Robin Hoods Bay from the campsite.

Site's response

Thank you for your lovely review.

We were put in the square field, a field not shown on the photos and probably used on busy weekends. This made the site far larger and busier than we like.

Medium Tent - Medium Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

Great location, with a great cut through of a small walk down to Robin Hood's Bay. They really pack campers in close together, which isn't our preference and therefore wouldn't stay here again. Unfortunately, we had noisy neighbours who woke us up at 2am due to tents being placed so close together, we could hear everything.

Trailer Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Family Field)Aug 2023

Not enough facilities, no shop on site. A lot of drinking parties on site. The site was very poor in parts and the person at reception was not very helpful. Showers were very good and toilets good, but could do with more on site. Overall, was good when we were sorted with a better plot.

Busy site, good location

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Touring PitchAug 2023

Booked this site last minute so we expected it to be busy during school holidays. Nice 10 minute walk across fields to Robin Hood's Bay - we saw a deer and there were cows in the field. Pitch was a bit tight but ok and showers were hot. Nice and quiet at night even though busy. Bay hotel has good food. We also ate at the Fylingthorpe Arms which is just 5 minutes away and the food was good there too. Whitby and Scarborough beaches are partially dog friendly as is Sandsend. Nice site for a short stay.
