By far the best campsite we have stayed at. It was perfect for the kids with a small playpark and wooded area, which the kids loved, all within sight from the pitch. The owners were very accommodating and the outside pool was brilliant.
Highly recommend!!

One of the best campsites I've been to. Very spacious woodland pitch, which was easily accessible and offered a great deal of privacy. Surrounded by rhododendrons, which made natural dens for my young child to play around. Great facilities including swimming pool and play equipment which my littlen loved! Highly recommend and will return again in the future! Thank you!

We went with 4 adults and 3 kids (11 and two 9 year olds). Lovely quiet place with a brilliant little pool. Showers close to the pool, which was really handy. Just a little far out for us to head to the beach every day.
Beautiful location and great facilities

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the tranquil, calming and beautiful location. The pitches are spacious, the staff were welcoming and helpful, the shop well stocked, the pool warm and the facilities were clean. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

In short, during very hot May/June days in 2023 when you arrive at Alpine Grove, tucked away under the trees it was blessedly cool. A very green site that encourages recycling, the facilities are top notch - and not busy, even when the park is near full capacity. The addition of a freezer to borrow ice blocks from was very welcome.

A beautiful setting in a forest, and a lovely atmosphere. We were there at half term so plenty of kids...including ours. There is a small playground in the middle, along with a permanent ping-pong table to keep them entertained. The toilet block was well kept, and they are very passionate about recycling, with plenty of different bins for the various items people often just chuck away. There is a small shop with a few essentials if you forget - a huge Tesco is within a 5 minute drive. The sea (Lyme Regis) is about 20 minutes away and we also recommend the beach at Bridport, especially if you have a dog... a great cafe there, though a little pricey.

My 5yr old gave it 10/10 and so did we. Lovely setting with the trees. Really safe for kids. Not too big and with a play park right in the middle, so we could relax whilst giving her some freedom to go off and play, but could still see her. Nice warm pool and friendly, helpful staff. Added bonus was having a freezer for ice packs. Great value for money. We will certainly visit again.

A very good site. all facilities were clean with plenty of hot water for the showers. Good location for visiting the coastal places. Our only concern was we were put in an area that had spaces for 3 vans or tents. The other two spaces were occupied by two families who were together and had spread themselves out across the whole front area and we were situated in the other space set back from and in the middle of them. So had to drive through their area each time we went in and out.

Thank you for your review and feedback, we were quite busy over the bank holiday weekend and it can be difficult to get suitable pitches allocated to everyone. In hindsight, we didn't get your pitch allocation quite right, so sorry about that, we will endeavour to do better next time.

We booked relatively last minute and would ordinarily have booked somewhere 'closer to the coast'. So glad that we didn't as Alpine Grove was a haven away from the masses, but only a quick trip in the car to Beer/Lyme/Charmouth etc. Set in woodland near chard, our pitch was spacious and had EHU. Plenty of trails and walks but also a wonderful place to simply relax. Clean facilities, plenty of hot water at all times, lovely shop and a swimming pool. We will definitely be back.

We arrived late in the evening, but still received a warm welcome. Pitches are nestled under the trees providing a much-needed respite from the sun, as the weather was glorious during our stay. Showers and toilets were always clean. We didn't need to use washing up or laundry facilities, but these were always well maintained. The site are keen on recycling, which was made easily accessible. Lovely little shop with all of the basics, plus locally sourced sustainable products. The campsite pool was a little gem 💎 clean and warm, there is a booking system where you select a 45-minute slot a day, giving you private use of the pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. On a few of the nights, there were outside caterers who came to the site. Location-wise, there are supermarkets and shops nearby. We had a walk around the nearby reservoir, but mainly used the site as a base to explore the nearby beaches of Dorset and Devon.

We were very happy with the secluded pitch choice. It was peaceful and relaxing, apart from a very vocal Crow, lol. Thank you. Kindest regards, John

One night stay. Used toilets, showers and cleaning facilities. The site was dog friendly. Very minimum in the on-site shop. The road noise does disturb the peaceful surroundings.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. There were several temporary road closures in place in the local area during your stay, unfortunately this pushes traffic onto rural roads increasing the volume of traffic coming through Forton. The roads have now reopened and the volume of traffic reduced.
