Muddycreek Campsite is a relaxed pop-up site offering an old fashioned approach to campfire camping. The welcoming spot is perfect for families - and for exploring the beautiful New Forest, with plenty of attractions and views to enjoy. There's local ponies to see on site, a good pub in walking distance, plus a stretch of beach on the South Coast is only around a mile away. Pitch up on non-electric grass pitches and start your adventure.

A great campsite. It was basic, with clean facilities but that's all we needed. It had a relaxed atmosphere, with very welcoming owners. Highly recommend.

This was our first time camping. The site was perfect for us. The booking instructions were clear and true. The amenities were easily accessible and clean. An absolutely beautiful place to be and it made our first camping experience very enjoyable, perfect for families.
Good campsite but bored children abounded!

Very fair price for what is a basic, no frills, pop up campsite. Everything clean and worked despite some facilities now showing their age. Only main downside on my stay was a fair number of youngsters and teens running around all evening and bored with it! That's not a criticism of the site itself at all, it's purely down to what I feel is a mismatch in parenting holiday site location choices! Milford on Sea and the shoreline is also very nice (15 minutes walk) but also in my opinion as a parent and grandparent, not at all young-child friendly from a sea or beach point of view. Most small children don't cope well walking on loose pebbly beaches, with many seen being carried by hot parents! Some of the beach shoreline is strangely inaccessible, made so by the sea defences and concrete walkways.
Site's response
Thanks for your review. I have to disagree about the 'bored' children that you mention. Whilst you were staying with us I saw football and cricket being played, bicycles being ridden and games of hide and seek. I certainly didn't see any bored children - tired from all the fun maybe but not bored. I also strongly disagree with your comments about Milford-On-Sea - It is a fantastic village and beach, and my family and thousands of others have had many very happy summers on the beach, playing and swimming in the sea.

So this is a large field with space to spread out. There are horses in the next field where you can see them cantering around. Facilities are diligently kept clean. Staff very friendly. Amazing location, quick walk down the hill to the sea. 2 minutes from a bus stop. We really enjoyed our stay at Muddycreek and we will definitely be returning.

I had a fantastic week in my tent, just me and my two yorkies. Lots of space so no need to pitch close to others. Lovely and clean which is very important to me. The only comment I would make about changes is to maybe having the freezer for ice blocks more accessible, (obviously with clear instructions that it's for ice blocks only). It could only be accessed between 8am - 9am or 5pm - 7pm. I was often out at those times so would miss swapping my ice blocks over therefore I lost quite a bit of food. That is the only thing that would stop me coming back as I need to be able to do the ice block thing and always check its availability before booking. Other than that thank you for a lovely relaxed time. Bev.

Thank you for your kind words. With regard to the Ice blocks, we have tried giving access all through the day but unfortunately, they were opened so often that the ice blocks didn't freeze so we reverted to limited access which isn't perfect, but usually works.

Fire pits and wood all available at the office, big pitches, very friendly feel to the campsite. Loads of amazing walks as well as good towns all within 15 minutes drive. Facilities are clean and very functional, shower toilets and washing up all provided good quality for free. Dogs welcome. 10/10. Office is only open a couple of hours in the morning and evening.
Site's response
Thank you so much for your great review, glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Just to clarify while the office is only open for a few hours a day, we are around and on site a lot longer than that and if you or anyone needs assistance my mobile is clearly displayed by the office.
Great weekend at Muddycreek, thanks!

We loved what Polly and her team are doing with this "pop up" campsite. A massive field where you can pitch where you want. Loads of space, even when full, for the kids to run around and play games. We were lucky enough to meet and fuss 2 young foals bred on the farm. A short walkable distance from Milford sea front. Facilities are basic, but this is to be expected from such a location. However, showers were hot and the toilets were clean - what more could you want? All staff were friendly and there is even fresh cooked pizza on a Friday and local ice cream for sale. Loved this place and we will definitely be returning.

I have been going camping on my own this summer, and this has been an amazing experience at Muddycreek. The staff are very friendly and caring. The facilities available are brilliant, clean and never too busy. The location is a 1 mile walk to the beach which is a lovely walk in this weather. The locals are lovely as well as the area. I would definitely come back again with friends and our dogs to experience it all over again. The horses next to the site are nice to watch, I never heard them throughout the night and it is nice to be surrounded by nature.

Extremely friendly, relaxed and well run site. Toilets & showers are absolutely spotless (although I would recommend sandals for use in the showers) with the ladies toilets having recently been refurbished. The hand washing and toothbrushing area is near the toilets but not part of, which made access easier for everyone and allowed for social distancing. There was plenty of room in the camping fields and then we were spoilt for the choice of location. The pitches are not marked so you can pitch wherever you wish, as long as the 10 metre rule is observed. We'll definitely be coming back here.
Definitely returning!

Brilliant campsite. It was nice to be able to choose your own pitch, with relaxed arrival and departure times. The toilets were kept clean and to a high standard. Not a far walk down to a nearby village and just a little further to the local beach. Only downside was the showers were a little smelly. However we will definitely be staying again.

Great campsite for exploring the local area. Kept clean by friendly staff who came round to every pitch to say hello every day to check everything was ok. Only downside was there was a wedding in the hotel next to the field with loud music till midnight. But not the campsite's fault so not a negative on them.

My and my son had a great time at this campsite. The location is very remote and minutes away from lovely Milton on Sea and Lymington. There are friendly horses for kids to pet and the site is huge with plenty of space. I would recommend it to my friends and family.
Loved it!

Lovely, friendly campsite. Plenty of hot running water in the showers, clean toilets etc. Easy walking distance (with a 5yr old) to the local shops, pubs and shingle beach. Also lots of things to do a short drive a way. Visiting pizza van on Friday night was a winner for us. We didn’t make use of it but the opportunity to put your freezer blocks in the office freezers is a top idea.

We turned up mid-afternoon, and it was really easy to find a good location because there was plenty of space. I have to say the location is great - so close to Milford on Sea which is lovely and in the other direction you're in the New Forest and Lymington just up the road. The facilities are pretty simple but it has everything you need and I must say I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the loos. We had a great time, everything was easy. Kids liked having the ponies on the adjoining field. Will definitely come back!
