Large Tent - Electric Grass Lake View PitchesSep 2023

Myself and my partner decided on a last minute camping trip to make the most of the warm weather. Avon Tyrell was perfect for us. A fab mix of old, young, groups and couples. Enough going on but quiet enough for us to just chill out. Easy check in by a lovely guy whose name I sadly didn't catch. Have already spread the word and we will be back at some point.

Disappointed

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding and Grass Motorhome Pitches (Pet Friendly)Sep 2023

First reaction, activity looks nice. Disappointed that we were not allocated electric hook-up hard standing, as this is what we booked. Area was muddy and we were unable to put up our awning. Toilet facilities were nice & showers. Café was nice, though reception didn't inform us that if you wanted pizza you had to place an order before 2pm. Arrivals time was 1pm. Also, aeroplane flight routes were a bit noisy. So glad we only booked one night.

Lovely but nobody really enforces the camp rules

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Lake View PitchesSep 2023

We have come to this campsite loads and it is really good, but we noticed this time that it was so loud after 10pm. People playing really loud music and another group of people singing at the top of their lungs round the communal campfire until about 11.30-12am. People also walk across your pitch if you're near the park or facilities. It would be nice if rangers came by at say 7pm and 10pm. It was a Saturday night and it's great to see people having fun, but it's hard not to wake up at 6am, so going to sleep after 12am isn't the best. Also, not very child friendly which the site promotes. Showers and toilets are generally clean, except after 10am, because they've just been used by everyone - fair enough.

Nice family camping

Large Tent - Non Electric Forest Floor Tent Pitches (Pet Friendly)Sep 2023

We had a 2 night stay with 2 kids and a dog. The campsite is clean and well facilitated. The kids loved the play area. It's very close for a lovely walk in the new forest and near some nice parks. Although there are signs saying quiet time between 22.00 and 07.00, we found other campers were a bit loud chatting, but it is what it is. Other than that, all great.

Fantastic place to camp and enjoy outdoor activities

Large Tent - Non Electric Forest Floor Tent Pitches (Pet Friendly)Sep 2023

Fantastic place to camp. My wife and I + 2 kids (3 & 7 years old) + 2 friends and their 5 year old daughter all camped the weekend in the lakeside area. The campsite was beautiful, set among trees and by a lake. There are lots of great activities to do and if we'd had longer there, we'd have tried more. Our friends did canoeing and paddle boarding. My son (7yrs old) and I did the tree top trail while my wife and our 3 yr old daughter played in the on site playground and had a relax and coffee/ice lolly in the café. We were allowed to and did bring our own BBQ, which was well used for cooking and as a fire-pit at night time. The campsite is only 15-20 mins drive from some beautiful beaches. Good crowd staying there, everyone was friendly and quiet once it was past 10-11pm. We would happily recommend this to others and are considering coming back again, maybe we'll try the archery and abseiling next time :)
