Superb location. 10 minutes walk from the beach which is absolutely fantastic. The staff couldn't be more helpful. It made it an amazing holiday for me and my son. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

First time staying here, location was great. So many different places and beaches to visit, some walking, some a short drive. Didn't get to do everything we wanted to so will definitely be back! Campsite had everything we needed. Clean, tidy, lovely hot showers. Toilets were better than expected (having used similar in other campsite). Our allocated plot was perfect.

Lovely campsite, toilets always clean, showers are great. Charging points for phones and more were very useful. Plenty of fridge/freezers for storing food and icepacks. Firepits and logs available for a decent price. Staff very welcoming and happy. Site is a 15 minute walk from the beach and about a 20 minute fun walk through fields via public pathway to the small village of Thurlstone. Welcoming pub and small shop with post office. Views from the site are tranquil and give you a real sense of 'getting away'. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Wonderful site. Kingsbridge so close for emergency wine supplies and a 5 min walk to the beautiful South Milton beach. Added bonus was Rockbox Devon with their amazing pop up bar and eats at the top of the beach. Camp was lovely with clean, fresh compost toilets and excellent showers. I even had full access to the farm workshop to fix a problem with my van. A big thank you to Anita for being the perfect host. Highly recommend.
Very well run and an absolute pleasure to stay with for a week

Simple campsite very well run and an absolute pleasure to stay with for a week. The response from the owner during booking was very speedy and clear, which made the process smooth and easy. The confirmation email had loads of useful bits of info, for example, which beaches are best for swimming or surfing, recommendations for pubs, along with a lot of other info. That all reduced the work of finding these things out for ourselves, making things a lot more straight forward. We found the plot sizes to be generous with easily enough room for our 4 man family tent, car and lots of room for sitting around the tent. The plots are clearly marked with ropes. Our fire pit was delivered (with a bag of wood) after I sent a request to the owner by text, again the process was easy and low hassle. Signage around the site was excellent with tips on where to walk and local eateries. The two fields both have large spaces in the middle which are clear of tents and have goals set up. This means that kids can play within site of the tent and parents can relax. There were a lot of young families around, not many teenagers, but younger kids would be very well catered for. USB charging is free, fridge/freezers were not too packed. Loos are long drop, simple/rustic but cleaned regularly and were fine for us. Hot showers are pay for what you use and simple enough to use. Quiet time is from 10.30pm and although the site was full on the weekends, we didn't have any problems with noisy neighbours. Lovely views from both fields and the site is very well situated for several beaches as well as Kingsbridge and Salcombe. We loved the place and can happily recommend to anyone looking for a very well run, simple campsite without electrical hook-up in a stunning part of Devon.

Super campsite. Reasonable facilities though you have to be prepared for compost toilets and to pay for the hot water (20p/minute). Having said that, the showers are hot and powerful, but you do need 2 of you to use them - one to put the money in the meter whilst the other is in the shower cubicle getting ready. Everything was cleaned daily. Nice views from the campsite, with a view of the sea in the smaller field. They have a "veg shed" where you can buy fresh fruit and veg. It's a 15 minute walk down the (level) road to the beach or you can drive there in 5 minutes (car parks are between £5 to £8 a day if you don't fancy walking). Driving to the NT car park in South Milton (£6 a day) can be a bit hair raising as the lanes are very narrow, and this will take you to the same beach, just a bit further along. The beach itself is really lovely with the wonderful Rock Box cafe and bar. I think you can walk to the beach via the Nature Reserve but dogs are not allowed so as we had our 2 dogs with us, we couldn't make use of that route. Miles of wonderful coastal path to explore and lots of doggy friendly beaches nearby. Would definitely recommend and happily stay there again.

Adequate showers, drop toilets were fine and not smelly, location was great. You can walk to the beach easily and the pub at Thurlstone is also walkable.

This is a great site...open countryside and close to the beaches of this corner of Devon. It is simple, done well! The pitches are a good size and the simple facilities are ample, well managed and kept clean. There is plenty of useful guidance and information from a helpful owner. This is a lovely part of Devon...the beaches are clean and safe. It was a great way for us to begin our campervan adventures!

What a lovely gem! I booked this last minute to spend a couple of days away with my teen son. We had an amazing time, the location is a short walk from a beautiful bay where you can swim, paddle board or just soak up the views. Easy access to coastal paths. The site itself was lovely and quiet. Perfect and safe for families with small children. The facilities are basic but well maintained. Only downside for some people, the drive is a bit hairy for the last couple of miles down single track roads, but don't let that put you off!

Fantastic location, stunning view. Downsides: no mirrors anywhere, nowhere for chaps to shave. Fires from the rented fire pits got quite intrusive at night, possibly from wet wood? Got to the point where it was too smoky to sit outside.
Site's response
Thanks for your review. There are mirrors above the sinks in all the loos. I clean all seven of them twice a day! Apologise about your neighbours having a smokey fire pit. I guess it all depends what everyone is burning, which is out of our control. The wood we supply is all seasoned. Hope you have a lovely summer and visit lots of other super campsites.

Lovely views not far from beautiful beach at South Milton. Loved the laid back approach. Loved open fires. Loved that you can get quite a few tents in one pitch. Free and easy. Loved the walks available to many places. All in all, suited us and hope to be back. Thank you.

We've had a lovely couple of nights camping here. Basic, but that's how we like it. Walking distance to the beach along the road, which can be relatively busy but not a problem. Having to pay for hot water to wash dishes is a pain and equally prefer not to have to remember 20p/£1 coins for showers, but it worked out fine.
Great little pop-up park

Great little pop-up park. Basic but good value for money and what it says on the tin.
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time to review us, Holly, and I love the Ronseal comment! We do try to make it clear to our guests before they arrive that there is no concrete, tarmac or slot machines! Just starry skies, a great vibe and relaxed atmosphere. So pleased you got us! Hope to see you again!

Lovely location with an easy 10 minute walk to the beach. 2 cafés/bars at beach- did not eat there but seemed very popular & food looked nice. 30 minute walk along coast to Hope Cove with pubs & restaurants - beautiful. Few minutes drive to Kingsbridge for supplies (Tescos & Morrisons) pubs & takeaways. Lots to do in local area. Really good communications from the owner with lots of info & suggestions for day trips etc. Loved sitting by the fire pit in the evenings watching the bats! Facilities in temporary structures because of location but a lot better than a lot of "permanent " campsites I've stayed at. USB charging points & fridge freezer really appreciated. We had a lovely stay & would love to come back x

Totally gorgeous little gem of a campsite to stay at. We were in the quiet field which was perfect for a carers respite break. Eco toilets are great and really don't smell at all. Fire pit was such a good idea and we toasted marshmallows over this. Nothing negative to say. Amazing place, communication was excellent. Can't wait to go back, thank you for having us.

Thank you for a super review, Anne. Delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and hopefully you will return again one day!

Such a beautiful setting for a campsite overlooking a lush green valley with the sea within an easy walk. The pitches were big and spacious, the facilities eco-friendly and fully functioning and lovely touches with fresh flowers in the loos! There's no doubt that it's rustic and not glamorous but with everything you need, including campfires and even a local curry house that delivers, it's about as close to perfect as you can get.
