About Melin Mabes

If you're searching for a relaxing getaway in the Pembrokeshire countryside, or a great base for exploring South Wales, this could be the ideal spot. Set in a picturesque valley just a ten minute drive from the coast, it is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. The site has just four camping pitches, each with the option of a metered 16 amp electric hook up and allowing up to two guests. There are three grass pitches in total, each measuring 5m x 5m. Two of the pitches allow tents and trailer tents only, whilst a couples only pitch welcomes tents, trailer tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans. For those brining their campervan, motorhome or caravan, there is also the option of the fully serviced hardstanding pitch. This pitch measures 6.5m x 14m allowing couples only, with a grey waste point, water hook up and optional metered electric. If glamping is more your style, the site has a great range to choose from. The Mabel gypsy caravan is over 150 years old and sleeps two in a cosy raised bed with luxury wool bedding, perfect for a romantic getaway. Inside you will also have cushioned seats, electric, a radiator and a wood burning stove for cooler evenings. Just outside you will find your fully equipped sheltered kitchen with a pizza oven with pizza dough available to purchase. Next door is your private ensuite, along with a hot tub with a retractable roof, perfect for evenings under the stars. For something truly unique, the Spodnic UFO is perfect. The futuristic dome can sleep up to two adults and two children in a double bed with merino wool mattress topper, and a handmade sofa bed that converts into bunk beds with a curtain for privacy at night. You will also have a heater, along with a TV/DVD player and a retro space invader game for entertainment. Step out of your spaceship and you will find your own Tardis with your ensuite facilities, probably the coolest loo you've ever seen. You will also have a fully equipped sheltered kitchen, along with cushioned wicker chairs, outdoor furniture, an outside shower and a sheltered hot tub. Situated next to its own pond with a row boat, the Templar treehouse is great for a family getaway, sleeping up to two adults and two little ones. Inside you will find an open plan living area with squishy armchairs, a double bed, wood burning stove, kitchenette and a bathroom with underfloor heating and a heated towel rail. If you climb the small ladder you will find a mezzanine level with two single mattresses and sleeping bags under a sloping roof with restricted headroom. You will have your own balcony to enjoy the wonderful panoramic views or head down the slide and you will find your outdoor kitchen, sheltered hot tub, al fresco dining area, BBQ and fire pit! BBQs are welcome across the site so don't forget to bring your chef's apron. Please note, campfires are prohibited. Four legged friends are also allowed to join you for your stay, unless staying in the treehouse.

Grass pitches, grass and hardstanding pitches, and Spodnic are available from April until November. The hardstanding pitch, Mabel and the treehouse are available all year.

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding and Grass Pitch (Optional Electric)Jul 2024

Really lovely site. We were booked in for one night but ended up staying two as hosts really helpful and accommodating. The main camping site (tents/campervan) has 4 pitches and we were lucky as no-one else was with us and so we had facilities all to ourselves! They had recently returned to the site and so was really neat, tidy and private. Super quiet at night and lovely sound of chickens and ducks in the morning. Close to Tenby for day trips and there are some local walks we were told about but didn't go on as we were there mainly to visit friends. Highly recommended.

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding and Grass Pitch (Optional Electric)Jul 2024

We stayed over one night on our way to the West Coast. We were the only happy campers on site and with the gates all closed, our dogs could roam free, which was a real luxury. We were greeted immediately on arrival, very friendly and the facilities in great order, including a handicapped/family WC and shower. We had a 3 mile walk in local area, and left just before noon. I could have stayed another night easily. Peaceful and relaxing, and a small site.

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding and Grass Pitch (Optional Electric)May 2024

We weren't glamping, so I'm guessing we had the smaller field, but it was still lovely. Simple & pretty with great facilities. And quiet…the most important thing.
