The Barn at Beal is a small family-run campsite based on a working arable farm. It is the closest site to Lindisfarne (Holy Island) and is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Northumberland Coast. There are both grass tent pitches and hardstanding touring pitches, all of which have EHU and enjoy stunning views across to the coast.

About The Barn at Beal
This family and dog friendly site is the closest camping and touring site to Lindisfarne, or Holy Island as it is also known, being close to the start of the tidal causeway crossing to the island. The panoramic view from the terrace is second to none. On a clear day you can see from Goswick Sands to the north, Holy Island and Lindisfarne Castle with the Farne Islands behind in the east, and Ross Sands and Bamburgh Castle to the south east. It is a breath taking view. The campsite is on an arable farm, which provides barley for Timothy Taylor Landlord (something you can enjoy from the cask in the bar!) It's also located in a National Nature Reserve and within the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Being a small site is one of the reasons people stay here. Both the grass and hardstanding pitches have electric if you require it, and the majority of pitches have an open view across towards the coastline. The site is particularly popular both with cyclists, being on the Coast and Castle cycle route, and with walkers, as St Oswald's Way and St Cuthbert's Way passes close by. Dogs are welcome on site, with a maximum of three pets per pitch.

Site facilities include well kept showers and toilets. There is also a drive over grey water drain, as well as a waste disposal point, drinking water taps and outside sink areas. You'll also find a children's playground to let little ones blow off some steam.
There is a restaurant, coffee shop and bar on site with WiFi available. The restaurant and coffee shop is open seven days a week with the Bothy Bar open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for drinks. Within the restaurant, you'll also find a small gift shop selling local produce and products, as well as artwork by local photographers.

All pitches have electric hook up points and most have spectacular views over to Holy Island. Some grass tent pitches can accommodate 6+ person tents.
16 x Hardstanding Touring Pitches
All pitches have an open view to the coast and have electric hook up points and grass space for an awning, they are suitable for campervans, caravans and motorhomes up to 9m long.

Site rules and policies
* Check In at the Office and Reception from 3pm
* Check In first before pitching, vacating the site on your last day before 11am.
* Well-behaved dogs welcome.
* No stag parties allowed.
* Bonfires/campfires not allowed.
* No noise after 11pm.
* All groups (including corporate, all male/female, or large family groups) are accepted only by prior arrangement with the Manager.
* Please be aware that the campsite is sited on a working farm and is adjacent to arable fields.
* Information and prices subject to change.
* Unfortunately no vehicles (except bicycles) on the grass due to health and safety precautions. Cars are not to be parked on the grass or track adjacent to tents. You can bring your car on to the track to unload - then park in the car park.
Things to do on site and in the Berwick-Upon-Tweed area
On site, you'll find a restaurant, coffee shop and bar with outdoor seating to enjoy the panoramic views from the site.
Northumberland is called 'The Secret Kingdom' because, with its empty beaches and quiet country roads, it appears sparsely populated. It's a place to come to get away from the crowds and the pressures of day-to-day life. The area is hugely popular with outdoorsy people, bird-watchers, walkers, cyclists and those who just want some peace and quiet!
The main attraction right on your doorstep here is the historic island of Lindisfarne with its famous castle. This is accessed by a tidal causeway (do read the tide timetables situated at both ends of the causeway for your own safety) and you can often be the only person on its many miles of beaches.
Just a 15 minute drive to the north is Berwick-upon-Tweed, with its ancient Elizabethan Walls and, as any Berwicker will tell you, the only example of bastioned town walls in Britain and one of the best preserved in Europe.
A 20 minute journey to the south lies Bamburgh Castle, explore the fortress and see historic artefacts, a great day out for all the family.
