Park was lovely and clean, facilities spotless. A bit disappointed that there no-one to meet when we got there to show us around. Our pitch was close to the main road, so a bit noisy. Dog enclosed garden was fantastic. Would stay again.

Thank you for the review, we are on site most days during school hours but do run the site alongside our farm. We send a map and all the information you need beforehand and always contactable.
Great site but note the busy road noise

Let's get the worst bit out of the way which is no reflection on the owners at all but the road noise is not good! The two roads that intercept right outside the site are on the main quarry route and the first lorries started rumbling by at 4.45. It's also a very popular route for motorcyclists so evenings are noisy. The road noise is constant but if you come from a noisy environment, it won't bother you. With regard to the site, it's laid out beautifully, generous pitches and mature planting in between. The main area is tarmac and pitches hard standing. Electric is great and water. Recycling and Wi-Fi very good. The toilet block has a disabled room and then separate ladies and gents - three toilets and two shower cubicles, and basins in each - no privacy cubicles for washing and no hooks by sinks for your towel. The showers are hot and if you push in the eco button over ride you get more water and more heat. There are hooks and use of a chair but in cubicle, two of the hooks are on the wrong side, so you struggle to get your towel round the shower door. The doors also leak a little, so make sure you close them tight. It was warm and very clean which was great. There is a brilliant communal kitchen with a cooker and microwave, free washing machine and clothes horse. There was complimentary coffee and tea to welcome you and two lots of washing up sinks. There is a smashing lounge - two tables to eat and play games do jigsaws on (there is a selection available) and comfy sofas and tv to enjoy on wet days - we used it a lot as we were on site with family. It was warm and relaxing. The surrounding area has great walks and cycle routes - Monsal and Tissington trails are within easy reach. Buxton and Bakewell not far and Tram museum and heights of Abraham were both great.

Great stay, no need to meet the owner, just turn up after booking and park up. Very clean facilities and kitchen all looks brand new with a communal TV room. A little bit noisy near a main road but bearable.

On a working farm with great facilities, very clean. Great location and it’s a small site, rural and well run. Road close by but not a huge amount of traffic. Would go back.

Very nice location. Good value. Small campervan pitch is really small. We were blocked from a view by our immediate neighbour, but we just moved forward. Everything fine otherwise. Very clean. Thankyou.
Site's response
Thank you for the review. Moving slightly to make the best of the view is fine with us!

Loos and showers perfect, thank you. A nice spot. Wasn't keen on the surface by the van where we parked, a bit rough and difficult to walk on, especially with a broken ankle. Otherwise great.

Thank you, hope you get well soon

Hardstanding fully serviced pitch made life easy. Sited within easy distance of Buxton and Bakewell. We got to see the northern lights as there was very little light pollution.

This is a very quiet, small, well planned 11 pitch site, with some fully serviced super large pitches with very good facilities. There is a very nice toilet block and well fitted lounge and kitchen areas that can be used. It feels a little impersonal, yet very efficient, as everything is done online and there is no one there to meet you when you arrive. Though whilst not a bad thing, it meant that some caravans arrived very early, ie 9.00 am rather than waiting for the 1.00pm time slot, as they can 'sneak' in. No problem, unless they are coming onto your pitch when you leave. It is in a great position with easy access to Buxton, Bakewell, the Tissington Trail and food shopping, with an Aldi 5 minutes away. Only negative is that on the website the directions show that on the way from Ashbourne you should turn right into Upper Blindlow Lane/Pippenwell Road, then left into the Ditch. This route is very narrow, particularly for a caravan, and I would suggest that it is safer and easier to continue on the A515 for a few more miles and turn right onto the A5270 and approach the campsite in that direction.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. Sorry to hear some other guests arrived to early, that is rather unfair of them and does not tend to happen very often. We will keep a monitor on this, we are on site more and more regularly. The directions we provide are as above and advise avoiding Blindlow lane, other than that lane, access is good to the site.
An absolute gem of a find

It must be the best caravan park we have stayed at. What was a bonus was the fabulous village pub, which is a proper country pub with great beers and excellent food. Will be back again and again.

Booked for 4 nights but only stayed for 2

This review is specifically for the pitches on the corner next to the roads. Ours was number 9. Plenty of room for 2 adults and one dog. But, I'm afraid that it was so noisy. Vehicles started at 3:00am with cars, then continued all day and evening. Tractors as expected and cars, but many large stone and gravel lorries also. Unfortunately, we left after 2 nights. If noise does bother you, it might be worth checking which pitch you are on first and if there is some big road works close by. As everyone else has said, immaculate in all regards other than that.

The site is located near a busy, main road and can be quite noisy from heavy traffic. When we booked the site, we asked for a fully serviced pitch, which we paid for, but once we had paid our full balance a few days before we travelled. We were contacted by email & told we had been moved to the pitch next door, to accommodate another guest who was apparently staying longer. The email also stated that all pitches were close to the facilities, as it was only a small site. Not true! The only pitches close to the facilities are no's 1 2 & 3, because unfortunately, due to the layout of the site, once you have managed to get to the out of the way side entrance, you then still have 3 doors & 2 rather long corridors to negotiate. There is a front entrance which would be slightly more accessible, however access is prohibited to the public & is for staff only. Having requested a pitch close to the facilities, we were less than thrilled to be moved, but would have been happier had we been moved to one of the 3 pitches which are slightly nearer the facilities. 🙁 As it would appear that all the pitches on this site are fully serviced pitches, why inconvenience us at all? Also, the chemical disposal point on this site, is less than adequate. Due to the lack of a hose pipe to flush out your cassette toilet, which you have had to use due to the 'out of the way' facilities. I felt that these are too far away in day light, let alone when it is pitch black. Although we will not be visiting this site again, we did have a brilliant holiday in the Peak District and will definitely be visiting the area again.

What a wonderful place. Full pitch for campervan. Great facilities. The toilets, kitchen and lounge are modern and clean. Self service, which was perfect, just set up. The office was open should we have needed anything. Very good location for exploring the area too.

This is a great site, located not far from Buxton and Bakewell. The no check in was really convenient, we could just drive into the allocated pitch. We didn't get to use it, but there was a lovely lounge available with plenty of local information in there.

On quite a noisy corner but apart from that, the site was very clean, there is a fantastic proper shower with lots of hot water, which is often lacking even on 5* sites, and it was very well landscaped. We got caught in the heavy snows and the owner ensured the site was cleared to the road and provided us with travel info.
