The Duke Campsite is an idyllic, dog-friendly campsite overlooking unspoiled countryside with all the amenities of a premier campsite and fully serviced pitches. The cosy, vintage shepherd's hut is set in a pretty meadow, has electricity, a pot-bellied wood burning stove, a BBQ and a kitchen area. Blenheim Palace, Woodstock, Oxford, Stratford, Waddesdon Manor are further afield but easily reachable. The Cotswolds are a mere 20 minute drive.

Described as 'a hidden gem', this fully serviced three acre campsite is dog friendly, with unspoilt countryside views and a location adjacent to a pub. This is the best of both worlds - a fully equipped campsite with a romantic, peaceful shepherd's hut on the doorstep of a charming historic country inn. The site is rural but has a central location with easy access to the M40 (4 miles), Banbury (4 miles) and Bicester village (5 miles). Choose from spacious pitches with excellent facilities to suit tourers and campers. The pitches are large with beautiful views over open fields and farmland. You can also enjoy a getaway for two in a cosy shepherd's hut, which comes with vintage furnishings and its own toilet. If bringing a motorhome over 2.6m, please contact the site in advance.

The campsite has superb 24 hour indoor showers and toilets, grey and chemical waste, washing up area, free Wi-Fi across the campsite.

A step away is the Grade II listed country inn which is open seven days a week and serves award-winning local ale and superb food Wednesday to Saturday 12-2.30 pm, Tuesday to Saturday 6-9 pm and Sunday lunch 12-5 pm, including breakfasts 8.30-9.30 am. A fish and chip van visits once a week.

Please note in inclement months we may limit the bookings due to field conditions. The only hard standing we offer is limited to the car park or adjacent yard.

Out of respect for fellow campers and neighbours please limit your noise to between the hours of 9 am and 11 p.m.

BBQs and fires are only allowed if raised.

Once parked up please register and pay at the bar.

Pitch and Hut should be vacated by 11 a.m. and can be accessed by 3 p.m.

All guests should recycle their rubbish at the bins into general, recycled and compostable/organic waste and glass.

Dogs must be kept under control and supervised at all times. Please tidy up their mess into the waste bin opposite the pub entrance.

Under 18 years olds must be accompanied by an adult of over 21 years of age.

We do not accept bookings for single sex groups of 6 or more.


Regular lively events such as quiz nights and a popular annual beer festival are hosted in the pub nearby.

Local events include Cornbury Festival, Soho Farmhouse, Fairport Convention, Silverstone and much more.

Local activities include the fishing lake in the village, horse-riding, cycling and walking routes on your doorstop. There are lots of country walks and public footpaths to explore.

You are just a mile from Aynho Wharf and the canal or 11 miles from the historic town of Woodstock and Blenheim Palace. Bicester Village, Waddesdon Manor and a host of other historic buildings are in the locality.
