We have just had 6 nights in the most amazing location on the Jurassic Coastline. We arrived a little later than expected but upon arrival we found a pitch quickly. The site was perfectly clean, the pitches were generous and the facilities were spotless. We ate in Martin's a few nights and the food was exceptional with lots of choice and huge portion sizes with a much appreciated indoor dog area. The walk to the beach is very steep but what a beautiful view, a true wow factor and there is a road you can drive down to the beach if you choose. Lots to do and see in the surrounding areas and lots of information leaflets to help you in the onsite Spar shop. It was half term so there were lots of children (not with us) and it was lovely to see them playing with no mobile phones and enjoying all the facilities the site has to offer. Definitely return and most certainly recommend.

This touring part has everything that you could wish for. The toilet and shower blocks are fab, with heating and great showers. On site laundry facilities that you can pay for with your bank card. Bar and restaurant, Spar shop and indoor heated swimming pool. I would score this site 10/10. Can't wait to return.

Very quiet, peaceful site with an amazing view. We would recommend it, but it's too far to the toilet block from the electric pitches. We had 3 kids with us, so we were so tired of walking there that we took the car a few times when the situation was urgent. In my opinion, there should be another shower/toilet block just behind the electric pitches, it would make a huge difference. Also, it would be nice to have a mini disco for kids more often. It was only once per the whole stay. Swimming pool or little soft play is not for free. So the site is quite expensive. We enjoyed our stay anyway as it is a lovely area, but we wouldn't come back until some changes are done.

Site is very clean and tidy. Loads of toilets and the showers were great, hot and powerful. Pool is massive and quite warm, no booking needed. The bar and restaurant is lovely. Had breakfast and Sunday roast which were both really tasty, would highly recommend. We walked to West Bay along the coastal path which took around 25 mins, but a very steep incline to come back. Not much else close to site within walking distance. Views are fantastic but the downside to being on the top of a cliff means it is very open to the elements. We left a day early due to very high winds almost destroying the tent! All hands on deck needed to empty our tent before the wind took it down completely. The staff were amazing though and kindly put us up in a glamping pod for the night until we go back to our pitch in the morning to pack properly. We would go back but maybe consider a caravan or pod next time!

Great time. Clean site, very well organised. One star off though as had to pay for swimming and soft play, which I thought was cheeky!

First time staying at Highlands and definitely won't be our last. Superb site and one of the best we have stayed at. Great location with plenty of walks along the coastal paths. Our dog absolutely loved the dog walking area and surrounding fields. Large pitches all marked out and spaced out well, fantastic view from our pitch overlooking the coast towards Lyme Regis. Very clean toilets and showers, cleaned regularly. Extremely helpful, polite staff and very knowledgeable about the area. We even had an email while we were there informing us of a day of high winds and advice on how to prepare our tent. Had a fantastic week and we will be back very soon, thank you.

This site is one of the best we have stayed at. The facilities are fantastic, everything you could want on one site. Everywhere is super clean and well kept. Our one and only criticism is that there isn't much protection for your tent from the wind and boy, it's windy! I wish there were some hedges between the pitches just to take some of the gales. Our air tent held up well, but several people had broken poles. It wasn't enough to put us off though. We are thinking about returning next year.
Site's response
Thank you for your feedback. It is well advertised that our camping pitches and park are located on a Jurassic Coast clifftop, which gives them stunning views. But it does mean that on a rare occasion they are exposed to the wind during adverse weather. We regularly check forecasts and have procedures in place at these times which include emailing and/or texting advisory messages to guests asking them to prepare for stronger winds by ensuring tents are securely fastened down and we sell storm pegs in the SPAR for this purpose. When very strong winds are forecast, we contact guests about rearranging their bookings. On rare occasions, we are caught out when forecasts change at the last minute. We also have team members on-hand 24/7 to help and advise guests. These procedures affect a tiny proportion of bookings and we are sorry that you were one of these affected bookings. Please know that this is not the usual experience our camping guests get and we hope you will return to the park in the future for our usual 5 star experience. Thank you.

I feel like the food and drink is over priced. If it was more reasonable, we would have used it more often.
Site's response
Thank you very much for your feedback. Martin's Bar is an excellent place to eat: Our Sunday Roast on the coast (booking essential) is delicious and excellent value as you can opt for a different size plate, also the Curry night on a Tuesday the same. You are welcome to purchase a Martin's Loyalty card for £5 which entitles you to 10% off food and drinks, easily paying for itself very quickly. Also we have a happy hour for cocktails every day from 3-6 pm. Or there is the village pub the New Inn and also the Admiral's Bar, both within a 2-minute walk from the park entrance.

What a great campsite catering for all campers. Big pitches, great amenities and 'Roast on the coast', which was like a proper home cooked roast. They even set up the bar area for the Euros final, which was great and such a great atmosphere. We look forward to coming back.
