Cotswold Hills Country Park is a year round camping and touring park, surrounded by the Cotswolds countryside and just a two minute drive from Chipping Norton. Choose from grass and hardstanding pitches, with the option of electric hook ups too. A range of pubs, shops and the famous Diddly Squat Farm Shop are a five minute drive away. Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Stratford-upon-Avon and Bourton-on-the-Water are within 30 minutes too!

About the site


Surrounded by the rolling Cotswolds countryside and charming villages, this spacious park offers an ideal base for a relaxing holiday in Oxfordshire. It is a two minute drive or 25 minute walk to Chipping Norton, with Oxford within a 30 minute drive too. For caravans, campervans and motorhomes up to 8m, there are 21 hardstanding pitches available. Located in the main area of the campsite, these pitches include a 16 amp electric hook up with mown grass strips for spacing in between. The grass pitches are set in the rally field, with 38 non electric spots for tents. If you are in need of an electric hook up, there are also ten further grass pitches with 10 or 16 amp hook ups. All of the pitches allow up to six guests, with the facilities block located between the two camping areas. Evenings onsite can be spent enjoying a BBQ, but please ensure these are raised from the ground. There is a handy little Waitrose a ten minute walk away for picking up supplies, with multiple restaurants within a five minute drive if you don't fancy cooking. A great location for dogs, the site allows up to three dogs per pitch. Surrounded by scenic walking trails, you and your canine companion will have many trails to explore! Onsite you will also find a range of privately owned holiday homes, along with caravan storage.

Site facilities include a heated ladies and gents' toilet and shower block with radio playing, plus a disabled toilet/shower and a family bathroom. A laundry room and indoor washing up area are available too, plus there is onsite caravan storage. For peace of mind, there is CCTV security and a barrier entrance.

Chipping Norton is within a five minute drive of 30 minute walk with a range of restaurants/pubs including The Chequers, Blue Boar Pub, Thai Shire and Alberto's - Chipping Norton. A little Waitrose, petrol station and EV charging point are also within a ten minute walk.

We wanted to break our journey home, so first time on this site but will definitely stay again. The toilets and shower block were modern and spotless, and the site is really well cared for. A great location for exploring the Cotswolds.

FAQ

Awnings and gazebos are allowed, for a small fee. Pup tents are not allowed.

Check-in is available between 1pm and 8pm. Check out is then between 8am and 11am on your final day.

Yes, up to three dogs are welcome per pitch. However, please do ensure they are kept on the lead and under control at all times.

BBQs are allowed, but they must be raised from the ground and extinguished by 10pm. Open fires of any kind are not allowed.

There are no restrictions on how many pitches you can book together. However, the site does aim to create a peaceful atmosphere so quiet time which is between 10.30pm until 7am, and groups must keep noise to a minimum.

Yes, you are able to park next to your pitch. Each booking includes one car, with the option to add an additional vehicle upon booking if required.

The electric grass pitches vary between 10 and 16 amp. The hardstanding pitches have 16 amp hook ups.

The site is located off of the A361 which is a wide road with good access. The entrance is nice and wide, but you may need to take turns if someone else needs to exit.

The Chapel House Island bus stop is a ten minute walk away with routes to Chipping Norton and Banbury. Kingham train station is also a 15 minute drive away.

The famous Diddly Squat Farm Shop from the Jermery Clarkson series 'Clarkson's Farm' is just a ten minute drive. The farm shop offers a great range of local produce and is great for anyone who is a fan of the series.

If you want a day out with the kids, Fairytale Farm is a five minute drive away and offers a range of activities including play zones, a small petting zoo and fun gardens for children to play in.

Birdland Park and Gardens (25 minutes) is a great attraction for wildlife lovers. Here you will find over 500 species of birds including flamingos and penguins, along with a dinosaur trail and more!

Just 30 minutes away, Stratford-upon-Avon is a must-visit for history lovers. Walk in the footsteps of William Shakespeare, visit his birthplace or catch a play at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The town is also home to beautiful riverside walks and charming tearooms.
