Longthorns Farm offers the perfect place for camping or glamping in the heart of Dorset and close to the famous Jurassic Coast. Spacious pitches offer a relaxed atmosphere with campfires, star gazing and much needed quiet time - with the odd tank rumbling by or morning call from the gibbons next door at Monkey World. The site is on a small working alpaca and cattle farm and has plenty of woodland walks.

Nice site and location. Sometimes a little bit noisy overnight, due to the nearby army base. The staff were friendly and helpful.

A lovely peaceful location, with the woods set right behind us. It was lovely to open the door in the morning to a lovely spacious field with a nice view. We had a campfire in the evening times and a log burner which heat the hut within 10 minutes of burning. Remember to take duvets as we forgot! There were four of us, we had a sheet on the double bed, but no sheets for the two singles, and the double bed mattress and pillows were uncomfortable and the single beds were very uncomfortable. So much so, that we did not sleep well. I recommend this hut to 2 people or maybe 3. Also, there are only 2 USB ports in the hut, which stop charging by around 6 ish in the morning, along with the lights. The place overall is clean and tidy and staff were friendly. We had a great time regardless of the beds, but I would not say this hut is a luxury.

Lovely campsite and friendly team. Good facilities. Autumn break so it was quiet and therefore easy to access all facilities in a timely manner. Easy access to all major walking/sightseeing spots such as Durdle door, Lulworth Cove and other less well known areas. Lots of eateries and little villages around. Seamless booking arrangements. Sweet alpacas on site and adjacent to Monkey World if you wish to take a trip. Cons: lots of sound from the firing ranges which in itself is fine, but if you have a nervous dog, I would think again. We enjoyed our trip. Thanks.
Great place!

Unforgettable camping experience for first timers. If its your first time, don't be afraid to enjoy outdoors camping. We loved the experience. This was our first time camping. The site was absolutely amazing. The owners made us feel welcome. They were very friendly and helpful. The campsite was amazing. Will certainly visit Longthorns Farm again. Monkey World was a stroll away.

The owners of Longthorns farm are the perfect hosts. We cannot fault the site and facilities at Longthorns Farm, but particular credit goes to the owners for their care and assistance when our motorhome broke down - they are the perfect hosts!

Very good accommodation, exactly what we needed, very comfortable bed and peaceful location. We stayed when 'The Food Dude' was on site, which was great, and having a "pub" on site was great too. π

We had a lovely stay for two nights in a shepherds hut on Longthorns farm, the facilities were fair and the shepherds hut had charging stations however there was no electricity whist we were there and we did need to charge phones for use of maps ect. The owners did give us a charger block which was helpful. This site was a brilliant location, we visited Lulworth cove and monkey world which was a very short drive away. My kids and I loved waking up and seeing all the animals every day.

Stayed here for 4 nights in August 2024 and it was perfect for our needs. 9 year old twins had a great time exploring and hanging out with other kids. π

A great site, unfortunately our pitch was next to the main track used by cars and pedestrians to access other fields. This meant it was a bit noisy for us, but has enabled us to learn what we want from a site. Facilities were great, and staff were very friendly, our daughter loved the animals. Can't fault the ladies facilities, but unfortunately my husband experienced issues with the men's and did report these.

Brilliant. Campsite was lovely. We arrived late and even though the kitchen was closed due to having to pre order, the gentleman went out of his way and cooked for us (family of 4) even blew the bouncy castle back up for our boys so they could let of some steam! The campsite it self was overall lovely, very peaceful and clean! Would highly recommend to others! Even had a freezer out side to store your ice packs in!

Warm welcome on arrival to this well kept, clean site. Great dog field and woods on site, loved all the animals. A great location for Swanage, Lulworth and Studland etc. The lady who checks you in and the owner were both very nice and helpful.

Fantastic site, lots of spaces, some flexibility for moving. Food available on site and outstanding toilet and showers, spotlessly cleaned. Would recommend to anyone. Quite a bit of road noise around rush hour depending on wind direction.

Excellent site. Very friendly and well cared for. Most pitches are fairly level and the utility block is kept very clean. Lots of interesting places to visit and see and excellent walking areas nearby. Poor phone and Wi-Fi signal is the only issue that I noticed, but that didn't bother me much

We had a wonderful stay at Longthorns Farm. With 2 young children, we were a little anxious about our first camping trip but we had nothing to worry about. Great facilities (toilets, showers, sinks outside etc). The shop at reception was very handy too! Children loved being able to see and pet the animals each day! Tents we spaced out well so we felt we had enough personal space. Everyone we came into contact with (staff and visitors) seemed friendly.

I had such a lovely stay with my dog and plan to come back in the summer with my family. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, I loved all the animals and quiet spaces. Really great place to stay with a dog and not too far from amazing beaches. Lots of options for convenient food, as well as facilities to cook your own. Longthorns is so versatile and seems to cater for a wide range of needs and preferences. This was a much needed getaway for me and I can also see how perfect it is for families and groups of friends. Can't wait to come back!

Such a wonderful experience. Relaxed, tranquil and mind-blowing. From the minute we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. To wake up and see the alpacas, sheep, pigs and rabbits was amazing. Plenty to do with woodland walks and the monkey world next door. Can't wait to book again, thanks so much.

Everyone we met was really friendly and helpful. They came and checked on us as well to make sure that we had everything we needed. The tipi was clean and well stocked. We loved that we had enough wood, kindling and firelighters to last us for our stay. A cool box is provided with frozen packs to keep food cool. We loved cooking on the open fire, but there was a convenient gas stove as well, so we could make a quicker cup of coffee in the morning. My son loved the alpacas, goats, piglets, bunnies and geese, and the campsite was calm and beautiful. The showers were warm, and there was a shop on site for any emergencies. A bonus was the hammocks that came next to the tipis, and loads of space to run around and play football. We loved it here, and will definitely come back.

We stayed for two nights Thursday-Saturday and booked a tepee. Before we arrived, the owner contacted us and offered us to change our accommodation to a shepherd's hut due to bad weather coming in, which we did. A lovely lady greeted us and showed us to our accommodation. The shepherd's hut was clean and comfortable and really nice to have the wood burner as the weather was awful. So we were warm and dry. We were the only ones on the glamping field and only a few tents and caravans on the other fields, so very quiet. There was a sink and water next to us and eco toilets but they weren't for me! The shower block and normal toilets are a bit of a walk from the glamping field in bad weather, but as it was quiet, we just drove down to them. There are solar lights and two power points for charging in the shepherd's hut that came on at just before 8, but you could probably do with bringing another light before that, as it was quite dark in there before the door lights came on. Before we arrived, we got an email saying when the shop/cafe would be open. It said 8-8 each day for the shop, but it wasn't open at these times and was more only opened if you asked, but that may be due to it being quiet. It also said there would be hot pastries from 8am each day, but there weren't. There is a number you can call but it also says for emergencies or disturbances, so you don't really feel you can call it for other things. We did however call and ask about pastries for breakfast and someone came and made some for us and said they aren't usually available until 10am, so could do with the info/signs being updated. We also did the alpaca walk, which myself and my son really enjoyed, just wish the walk was slightly longer as it was said it was a 90min experience, but it was more 30min walk with a info talk at the start and feeding at the end. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and owners were friendly and helpful, I just think some of the info could be updated.
