A great site in the heart of the forest. There are cheaper options but this was the first trip away with our rescue dog and it was great to be able to walk straight into the forest for long walks. Site was busy but toilet block was always clean. Staff very helpful. We hope to visit again soon.
A brilliant place

A peaceful park in the middle of the forest. We only stopped for one night on our way through to somewhere else but have decided we will definitely go back.

My family and I stayed at this campsite for only one night. We really wish that we had booked more. Facilities are unlike any other we've stayed at. Laundry, hot showers, specialised dog washing facilities… this site has it all! Will definitely be returning for another visit next year. We particularly enjoyed the fact that it was so child friendly. There is a park directly inside the campsite so we didn't necessarily have to make her own fun. Staff were extremely helpful as well.
Great site for anyone but especially kids

I booked Sherwood Pines to take my 3 year old grandson camping for the first time. His daddy came too thankfully! He loved it. Loved the play park, the setting, even the washing up! We walked through the forest to the go ape centre and another play park. He loved that too! The site is very clean, safe and well managed. Facilities are all you could want. If you've got kids that just want to run and play, ride a bike etc, this will do you very well.
Peaceful, relaxing time

Good size pitches. Very clean. Efficient check in with very friendly and helpful staff. The staff took you to your pitch on a bike and explained everything you needed to know. Reception has a small shop but I felt needed to stock more of the daily essentials rather than toys and gifts (i.e. bread, milk etc) as there are no shops within walking distance.
Memory time!

We were off to the side in a small bay, not in the main camping area. It was great, great to be close to nature. We'll be back for sure.

I put on booking form "quiet spot" but instead I was pitched next to a large group of adults celebrating a birthday. They were noisy the whole day and night, even after supposed quiet time, which really ruined my weekend. It's a large site so if you are going to allow large parties couldn't you put them in a secluded area?
Great site, well managed and friendly staff

Upon arrival, I was greeted by members of staff that were new, but very helpful and knowledgeable. Everything was explained to me in simple terms and I felt comfortable to be able to speak with them. The site was spacious, with amazing facilities to cater for all needs. They were new and maintained well. Free Wi-Fi across the site was a bonus. Sherwood Pines has so many activities to cater for all, and would be great for families for a few days. My one and only very petty con was that tents were kept the furthest away from all facilities. And caravans, which had their own facilities, were right outside. But that's just a petty observation. Loads of wildlife to see, very quiet and peaceful at night. Would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting a few days away.

An excellent stay. My daughter visited us on our first day to go walking to walk our dogs, she wants to organise a visit later this year, she liked it so much. Well worth a visit and looking forward to next time! The downside was the children riding their bikes round the site. One nearly ran into me!

Our first visit to Sherwood Pines was great. The site is only about 3 years old, and the facilities are excellent. On arrival, we were greeted by one of the 6 staff who came out to the car to explain where everything was and give us a site map. Another one then led us on his bike to the pitching area and made sure we were happy with the pitch we chose. The toilet block was beautifully clean and warm, and open 24/7. We had a hardstanding pitch but there are grass ones and others further into the forest with plenty of electric ones, and several disposal points within easy reach. A great place with lovely staff. We shall certainly be back.

Brilliant campsite in Sherwood Forest. Lots of walks and cycling at nearby Sherwood Pines. The dog loved it. Saw the local deer herd as well. Great for young children on bikes and play park at this site. All the amenities were spotless and plenty in the block. Very clean and well looked after site, will definitely be returning.

Quiet, clean site with spotless amenities. The pitches were well-spaced and we heard no noise from neighbours. The amenities block has showers, toilets, a dog wash, laundry and a washing-up area, and there is a play park for children. The staff are friendly and check-in was straightforward. There looks to be lots of fabulous walks in the woods, we didn't stay long enough to explore them, but we are planning to return later in the year.
