Great location

Ideal location for an overnight stay as close to M1. Check in at the farm shop was quick and easy and the lady was very pleasant. Facilities were clean and adequate for what we needed. Will certainly use the site again when we are travelling.

One of the best campsites we've stayed at, very friendly

We love this site! Extremely friendly and accommodating, immaculate showers and toilets, washing station. They've a wonderful farm shop and restaurant, we had an exceptional breakfast, meat and veggies. I cannot say enough good things about this site and the people who work there, they really stand out, going out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Thank you all, we'll be back!

Great weekend stay

A lovely site with good facilities, the owners cannot do enough for you. There was a super fam shop across the road selling lovely produce, I would recommend the breakfast. The village has a really good pub too well worth a visit 😀

Lovely views

Lovely site with amazing views. When we arrived, we were shown to our pitch by lovely, friendly lady, only to find someone in our pitch so we were moved, but it had a bit more slope on it. Lovely views. Facilities were ok but very basic for price. Lovely farm shop with excellent food. Shame we couldn't take dog in but they do a takeaway. Pub in village is only open 3 days a week, so sadly closed during our visit. Lots of families with children so noisy for a small site.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm so pleased you enjoyed visiting the farm shop and liked the food and views. Yes, we don't allow dogs inside, but as you mentioned, we offer takeaways and there are tables at the front of the shop that you can sit at with your dog (we have plans to improve this area too). With it being the Summer holidays, we do have quite a few families that stay here as we are a family friendly site. I'm sorry that they were too noisy for you though. We hope you will still consider staying with us again in the future.

Excellent and plenty of space

Good location. Slight incline and some road noise. Very good shop and kitchen on site. Helpful staff and we are looking forward to going back.

Great find

Really lovely, small campsite with great farm shop and café over the road and a lovely pub just down the road. The only issue is that there are 2 toilets for the site which would be fine, except they are also the showers, so if 2 people are having showers, the wait for the loos is quite long - especially early in the morning when demand is high! Could be solved by a couple of extra loo only cubicles.

Nothing majorly wrong with site, but just not for us

This is a nice little campsite, but its just not for us. Can't recall exactly how many plots there were, possibly 14 or so, but there were only 2 unisex toilets/showers for the whole site. Clean enough, but not sure how clean the toilets would stay if it was full. There were additional toilets over the road at the farm shop, but not good if you were in a hurry to go. Plots not very level, but not a huge issue if you have levellers. I can't give it a bad review, and I can understand why some people like it, but its not for us. Friendly and helpful staff and great farm shop and restaurant across the road. Little bit pricey as well considering the facilities. We paid £7 a night less just outside Ashbourne 2 weeks before.

We do keep on top of the cleaning of the bathrooms, especially when it's busy and we are very proud of our restaurant and farm shop on site.

Super clean, excellent site. I loved the tower bell in the background. Will definitely come again. Highly recommended.

Lovely little site with friendly staff

The first thing that struck me was how friendly and helpful the staff were, it really showed through our stay. The site is clean and quiet, with a really nice view, that was perfect for relaxing. There is also a farm shop and café on site. Both of which I would recommend. They are full of locally sourced products. There is a pub 2 mins away which was also great for a pint and some food, great staff there too. I would recommend this site and will undoubtedly visit again.

Lovely little find in the country

Very friendly welcome. Lovely farm shop over the road and nice pub 2 minutes walk away. Big pitch, plenty of room and quiet at night. Only downside was the clock chiming through night but will bring ear plugs next time 😬 Nice and clean, perfect for a couple of nights and plus side of having a fire pit.

First camping trip

Lovely peaceful site with large pitches. Toilets and showers very clean. Dog friendly. Only negative was the chiming clock throughout the night every hour and half hour. Would have been fine if turned off from midnight to 8am.

Wonderful, farm shop and tea room are lovely

Wonderful stay. Really helpful owners, nothing was too much trouble. The farm shop and tea room opposite the campsite do amazing homemade food and the staff in there are lovely. The farm shop sells all local produce and a great GF selection too. The pub is within walking distance, but only opens Friday and Saturdays generally. Farm shop hires fire pits etc. One toilet and one shower on the field, but we didn't use the facilities as we have our own. Beautiful village and ideal lanes for cycling as it's quiet. Due to the rain we had, the field was muddy but when a van got stuck, the farmer came with his tractor and towed out - again all part of the friendly service. We would def recommend and will go back.

Great site in a small village!

Great site in a small village! Just what you want if you want to get away from it all. There is a café/restaurant run by the site just across the road, had an amazing breakfast there. They also have a fabulous farm shop with everything you would need. The toilet and showers were super clean and very modern, even had a heater in there for those colder days. The village has a lovely pub just a couple of minutes walk from the site offering good food and drink, well worth a visit if staying on the site. We will be back for sure many times more. Highly recommended.

Lovely Site!

A lovely site with really kind, friendly and helpful staff. There are some nice walks around the village of Catthorpe, for example, walks to the remains of Motte & Bailey castle at Lilbourne and a second castle mound just outside Lilbourne. The site has a farm shop, café, etc and the Cherry Tree pub in the village is brilliant (good food, beer and atmosphere). We will return!

Lovely place

The first trip in our new (to us) motorhome. Lovely welcome, all staff were friendly and helpful. The café just across the road was wonderful for breakfast and the farm shop was amazing. I came back with loads of goodies from there including freshly picked fruit and veg and lovely looking meat. There's a nice pub within walking distance in this quaint village and it's well located to several main roads. There are only two toilets/showers, but it's a small site and they were very clean and modern. A bit on the expensive side, but we loved it and will definitely be back.

Lovely campsite

Perfect!

We only stayed one night on this campsite. We were made very welcome. Didn't use facilities as we are self-sufficient, but had a nosey and they were lovely and clean! Absolutely fab farm shop and adjoining cafe, which we will definitely use next time we stay!

Second visit in two weeks

Great site to visit, shop and kitchen were first class - a must. The sausages are first class, so much so, I bought two packs to take home with me. The staff are above and beyond amazing. The site itself is very clean and tidy, showers and toilets were spotless. There are two shops as you come out on the left and are well worth a visit. The two ladies in charge are very friendly and helpful. There's a pub a short walk from the site which looks really nice, but only opens Wednesday to Sunday. We'll be back again without a doubt.

Enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed our stay, staff very accommodating and friendly, would go again but would have to be Tuesday to Sunday as there was a shop which doesn't open on Monday which was a shame. I try to book places that has a shop and café so we can get something to eat and was looking forward to breakfast Monday morning, but we were told that the Cherry Tree Pub was not open on Mondays which was disappointing. Knowing this, we may have booked later in the week. We would have loved to visit the other shop on site, The Pink Peony, but this wasn't open on Monday and coming away on Tuesday, it didn't seem to be open either. We would have liked to have known more before we booked.

Thanks for taking time to leave feedback Derrick. Our farm shop and the farmhouse kitchen are open 7 days a week, so not sure what happened when you visited? The pub in the village isn't open Mondays and Tuesdays you are right, but we do serve food including breakfasts 9-3 everyday! We do have 2 other shops onsite that don't open on Mondays either (florist/gift shop and interiors shop). With them being small family businesses, they don't open 7 days a week. I'm really pleased that you enjoyed your stay and found our staff to be friendly and accommodating though. We hope you will still visit us again!

Nice basic site

Nice basic site. Good for a stopover or a few nights. Farm shop and kitchen are excellent.
