Medium Tent - Grass and Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

Such a lovely welcome from Kay on arrival with some great pointers for good local walks and eating. Quiet and friendly - there is the road nearby with a steady flow of traffic but it’s quiet at night and really didn’t worry us. Great location with beautiful views. Facilities well maintained and clean.

Definitely will go back

Very nice campsite, with spectacular views of the valley, hills and the sea. Kay was very pleasant and helpful. Facilities were clean with hot showers. Would definitely recommend this site to others. One thing I would recommend is better signage on the road. Many thanks for the stay. The Smugglers Inn is worth a visit also.

Medium Tent - Grass and Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2024

We had a fab stay at Zambuka. The facilities were a good standard for this small, adult only site. All the other campers respected each other's space and noise was kept down. Speaking of noise, there is a main A road that goes past the site. It is at a lower level and out of sight to appreciate the fantastic views. I would, however, recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. We were in a tent, so the traffic may not be an issue in a camper or caravan. Craig's Dairy a short drive away is a great place to stop for a refreshment. There is a good range of local produce and the ice cream was really tasty. The strawberry having some really tasty strawberries in it. The Smuggler's Inn is a brilliant local 'Olde Worlde' pub and worth a visit. A nice hike using the public footpaths via Ordinance Survey map. I would definitely use this site again and would recommend it to others. A short drive to Weymouth is a must especially for some fish and chips on one of the many park benches along the beach front or on the harbour.

Quiet with panoramic views

A beautiful location with good facilities and great for a peaceful holiday. The weather was broken though, someone forgot to remind the season it was summer and not winter. Lots of wind and rain but we survived! lol.

Lovely site

Lovely, quiet site with clean shower/toilet block. Great views out to sea and of Thomas Hardy Dorset countryside. Short walk (45 mins) to coast and cracking pub - The Smugglers Inn.

A great little well located site

Medium Tent - Grass and Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Jun 2024

The site was as expected. Small, adults only with great view. The toilets and shower block were clean and well maintained. Every pitch had an electric hook-up. It was a bit breezy as on the side of a hill. Kay, the owner, was more than happy to help with anything. The bus stop into town was a short 10 min walk along the main road. The only issue we had was with other campers! For some reason they decided to ignore the "quiet" site rules. Apart from that everything else was great. We will return one day, hopefully with quieter neighbours 😁

Lovely quiet and relaxing site for adults only

VW-Type Campervan - Grass and Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)May 2024

We spent 2 nights at this lovely campsite. The hosts were very welcoming and our pitch was great - the campsite, whilst being close to the main road, is nestled at the foot of a hill and the pitches are, on the whole, pretty level. 95% of what you can see from the site is natural - fields, wildlife and the sea; hardly a house in sight! The facilities are superb for the size of the site - 2 clean & brilliant showers (powerful & warm) and 2 clean toilets, all located in a wooden 'block' with a washing up sink and drainer too. Plenty of soap, loo roll and washing up liquid were to hand. The block was cleaned regularly and really it was perfect. The site advertises as a maximum of 10 pitches and there were only 3-5 occupied when we stayed, so the facilities were more than adequate. There are 15 marked out pitches, but with adults only and an electric hook-up at each pitch, it's hard to imagine that the facilities wouldn't cope even if the site was 'full'. We spent a delightful evening watching a herd of deer from our van in a nearby field. Mobile phone data signal was almost non-existent at the site (Vodafone & O2) which could be an issue for some people. We cut through the field 'behind' the site to the nearest bridle path for a lovely walk. You could also walk this way to the Smugglers Inn at Osmington Mills (about 4km) as the main road didn't look safe to walk along (but we did note it's on the bus route so will check this option out in the future!) The site is close to a main road so there was some road noise but this didn't disturb us. All in all, we'd highly recommend this site.

VW-Type Campervan - Grass and Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Sep 2023

Great location, some traffic noise although the road tends to be rarely used. Very clean newish toilets and showers. Very friendly owner, communicating easily by text if not on site. Seems more expensive than similar campsites in the area, not sure why. Overall very peaceful, rural and recommended for those who look for a peaceful stay with beautiful views and cows checking on you from time to time. Easy access to places to explore.

Great site

Lovely stay with friends. Very relaxed, quiet site. Pitches varied in their flatness but we had levellers so not an issue for us. Getting in was easy. Would like to see recycling bins instead of one bin for everything. And payment by card / phone would make it much more convenient.

Lovely campsite

Bell Tent - Bell TentAug 2023

We arrived on a windy Friday, which turned into a yellow weather warning! Kay and her husband (campsite owners), were incredibly kind and did their upmost to shelter the bell tent and even brought us a flask of coffee in the morning. The site is a cute size which we loved, incredibly clean, the showers are hot, and plenty of drinking water taps. It is a stunning walk to the beach (views visible from the campsite), and a few great pubs around. Despite the weather, we had a really wonderful weekend! Thank you again to the campsite hosts :)

Lovely and peaceful

Stayed here for 2 nights. Lovely quiet site with perfect views. The owner was lovely and came to say hi just after we arrived. Took a trip to Durdle Door about 15 mins drive. We wanted to walk from the site, however the road gets very busy with no paths so we took the car. Facilities very clean.

Peaceful campsite with lovely views

VW-Type Campervan - Grass and Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2023

Really peaceful campsite with great views. I would say that there aren't enough facilities (showers & toilets) for the size of the campsite. The campsite wasn't close to being fully booked, but we were queuing to use the toilets. They had run out of toilet roll & soap, and could have been cleaner.
