This campsite was so easy to get to from the motorway. Really friendly and accommodating staff, the facilities were clean and everything we needed was there. Close to Keswick where we took the very inexpensive bus rides to explore so much of the Lakes. Absolutely recommend it - we'll be revisiting the campsite for sure.
Quite and relaxing, a great getaway

I had a great stay at Beckses and look forward to visiting again. Shame I had to cut my trip short due to the incoming storm.

A lovely little quiet campsite, with all of the facilities you will need. Not too far from a shop or the main town Penrith.

We really enjoyed our stay here at this campsite. The staff were excellent and very friendly. The pod was very comfortable, warm and clean. It was very spacious and in a nice quiet corner. The picnic table outside our pod was nice. The toilet and shower facilities were excellent too. We would definitely come back here again!

The site is owned and run by a family, and the chaps who greeted me in reception explained in detail where I would be parked and had a laugh and a joke with me - a very friendly, warm Cumbrian welcome indeed! The pitch we had was quite level, some were not so fortunate. However you're in the Lake District, so to be expected! Multiple fresh water locations around the site. One Elsan disposal unit on the top of the community toilets. Site was quiet apart from the road noise of the A66, however this did quiet down later on throughout the night. The site is not well lit so please bring a powerful torch! We enjoyed the shower facilities and the wash room to clean pots, pans and even our clothes! The lady stocking up the leaflets was lovely to speak too and offered lots of information on the local area. Please be aware if your walking from here to Penrudock, there is no pavement. It is a small road and at night, is dangerous. Recommend taking a bus or driving if you have a car or small camper, motorhomes are limited in villages. The site it self is very small, nothing fancy, however we enjoyed and would stay again as it's a quick drive from here to Pooley Bridge which houses some fine local cuisine and great hospitality.
A very friendly site

Our first visit to the Lake District and found the site clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Well worth the money and the site is well placed for day trips to the northern lakes and peaks.

Well located, easy access from the A66 and a short drive to both Penrith and Ullswater, plus the start of many fell walks. We also walked to local pub The Herdwick Inn, 15 minutes on the road or shorter across fields. Small, family run site, very quiet, despite it being full. We were early but we were able to check in anyway. Showers and toilets all very clean, not many people seemed to be using them. We were in a campervan so also used the washing up area, which was also clean and had washing up bowls and blue roll provided. We have been to many sites where neither of these were available.

Nice site within close proximity to the local areas of Penrith and Keswick. Bus stop nearby so was great for us not having to take the motorhome out to see the areas. Toilet and showers were good, play area for children and dog walking on site. Would recommend.

Nicely laid out, spacious site with good size pitches. Easy access off M6 and good location relatively close to Pooley Bridge and Keswick. Site facilities were spotlessly clean and of a good standard. Small park to keep young children entertained. Excellent value.

First time we've stayed here but won't be the last. Lovely site, very friendly and helpful staff. Nice dog walk with bins. Nicely laid out site, made attractive with plants and flowers. Toilet block with toilets and showers - water always hot and good pressure. Hand and hair dryers. Small wash up block with sinks and washing machine and dryer. Pub about half a mile away (walkable along country lanes). Shops in Penrith or Keswick (both around 15-20 mins away). Easy to access site from A66 and a good location for visiting the Northern Lakes, North Cumbrian coast or to venture over the border into Scotland. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already talking about a return trip.

Spent 6 nights at Beckses Caravan Park with my son. We stayed in one of their pods and we loved it. The staff and family who run the park were all very friendly and helpful. The toilet, shower and washing up facilities were the cleanest we've ever come across. The location of the site is also very convenient, just a 15 minute drive to either Penrith or Keswick. From our pod you could see Blencathra as well as other Wainwright Fells and Ullswater is a short drive away. All round, a fantastic site which I would highly recommend.

This was our very first trip in our new campervan and I don't think we could have picked a more perfect site. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The toilets, showers, laundry and waste disposal areas were kept immaculately clean. The site was very tidy, with manicured grass and flower bed areas. Our hardstanding hook up pitch was a really good size with quite a gap to the next pitch. The Herdwick pub is just a mile down the road, which had a couple of cask ales on that kept me happy, and both of our meals that we had on Saturday night were beautifully cooked and of a good portion size. Yes you can hear the A66 behind the site during the day, but on the night time, the road quietens right down and once in our van, we heard nothing. We will definitely be back, as we were already regular visitors to the Lake District, and this site is in a perfect spot to use when visiting. Oh and the express bus from Penrith to Keswick and Cockermouth stops about 300m from the site, so transport links are great too. Thanks again for making our first van adventure so unforgettable.
