About Celtic Camping

If you want a site that is large (spread over several fields) and relaxed then you will get just what you are looking for. The site is located on 250 acre working National Trust farm of Pwll Caerog. Being based just ten minutes from the popular city of St Davids you will be blessed with spectacular sea views. You can choose where to pitch and which field you prefer - customers have the ability to select a location on-site that is right for them and meets their holiday requirements. Just simply decide whether you want to be by the sea or maybe near the facilities, explore the site map and choose where is best for you. The site has a great range of pitches, all welcoming tents and tourers and up to ten guests. Decide whether you want your grass pitch with a 16 amp electric hook up or without. This rustic campsite is an ideal base for visitors to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the surrounding area. The site is just 500 metres from a pebble rocky cove, which is located at the base of the farm and is accessed via a small scramble down the coastal path. This relaxed site offers a spacious camping area with oodles of open space and numerous electric hook-up points set over several large camping fields. There are ample showers and toilets and two communal dining areas that can be used by campers should the weather become a little blustery. You will enjoy stunning coastal views of the Irish Sea across the whole site and sunsets that are truly amazing.

Celtic Camping is open all year round in 2024 and 2025.

A note from the site themselves...

Back in October of 1999, Ian and Judy Griffiths became the first tenants for the National Trust on their newly acquired working farm called 'Pwll Caerog'. Pwll Caerogs'. The stunning views across the sea gave Ian and Judy the idea to share this wonderful spot by opening up their home as a B and B in the summer of 1992.

Soon after, the campsite opened and Celtic Camping was soon established. The business has organically grown since the beginning and has slowly developed since. It is still very much a working farm with grazing cattle, a logs business and a variety of crops, such as malting barley and potatoes, growing onsite.

We really enjoyed our stay, we loved the location and enjoyed walking the coastal path to the pub. The toilets and showers were clean and warm. The free use of a dryer and tumble dryer was a massive bonus. We will definitely be going back.

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches (Pen Berry Field)Oct 2024

Two night stop over. We were met on site & directed to the best spot to avoid soft ground as there was rain coming. Fantastic views, showers etc very clean & good facilities. Great bunkhouse for larger groups. Easy access to the coastal path, kayaking, coasteering and other adventures close by in season. We walked to the blue lagoon & onwards, saw loads of seals & had a great pub lunch in Porthgain at The Sloop. Amazing setting even in rainy October

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Upper Abereiddi Field) Sep 2024

The location of the campsite was beautiful and so peaceful as we were out of season. We stayed in the Blue Lagoon field. I loved the kitchen appliances portacabin - having use of a kettle and toaster was great. The only downside for me was the shower and toilet blocks. A shower curtain would have made all the difference as it was impossible to keep towels and clothes dry from the spray of the shower and they are in urgent need of a refurb - the shower floor felt unstable in areas. A great site overall with great access to coastal walks to nearby villages.

Site's response

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful and peaceful location of our campsite, especially in the Blue Lagoon field. It's great to know that the kitchen appliances portacabin added to your convenience. Normally, as a Campsites.co.uk booking, you would not have been allocated a pitch on this field however I'm aware that you were placed up there by mistake. We appreciate your feedback regarding the shower and toilet blocks. Your suggestions are valuable, and we'll certainly consider them as we plan future improvements. Obviously, the main shower and toilet blocks are completely different from the converted cabins that you experienced in the Blue Lagoon field, but the points raised have been duly noted. We're glad you found the site overall to be great with excellent access to coastal walks and nearby villages. We hope to welcome you back for another relaxing stay soon! 🌟
