Set in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, this 5 star, dog friendly park is both enticingly close to beaches along the coastline and the charm of Robin Hood's Bay. A set of excellent hardstandings are available all year round at Middlewood Farm, or you can camp on grass pitches, and glamp in the cosy warmth of a pod with heating, lighting and plenty of other creature comforts.

Lovely campsite with clean facilities. Showers and water were hot quickly, small park area for children to play in the family field. The owners were approachable and dealt with any issues well. We liked that the warden was keen to reinforce the campsite rules, so it remained family friendly. Lovely short walk to Robin Hoods Bay from the campsite.

We were put in the square field, a field not shown on the photos and probably used on busy weekends. This made the site far larger and busier than we like.

Great location, with a great cut through of a small walk down to Robin Hood's Bay. They really pack campers in close together, which isn't our preference and therefore wouldn't stay here again. Unfortunately, we had noisy neighbours who woke us up at 2am due to tents being placed so close together, we could hear everything.

Not enough facilities, no shop on site. A lot of drinking parties on site. The site was very poor in parts and the person at reception was not very helpful. Showers were very good and toilets good, but could do with more on site. Overall, was good when we were sorted with a better plot.
Busy site, good location

Booked this site last minute so we expected it to be busy during school holidays. Nice 10 minute walk across fields to Robin Hood's Bay - we saw a deer and there were cows in the field. Pitch was a bit tight but ok and showers were hot. Nice and quiet at night even though busy. Bay hotel has good food. We also ate at the Fylingthorpe Arms which is just 5 minutes away and the food was good there too. Whitby and Scarborough beaches are partially dog friendly as is Sandsend. Nice site for a short stay.

Pod perfect for me, however the toilet block became flooded after heavy rain and was quite busy at times, so had to queue.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. It was an unprecedented amount of rain, of which we had never seen before. As we have "low thresholds" in the doorway, to make it very accessible for our guests, this did allow some rain to get into the facilities. But only a small amount !! We do have 2 x toilet blocks!

Good site, but I think it needs a shop on site. Were some times when toilet block could have been cleaner. Location good and only a 10 minute walk to Robin Hood's Bay. Although, you have to walk through fields full of cowpats. On the whole, not a bad site.

We were due to stay for 2 nights, but unfortunately had to leave on the 2nd night due to needing to get back home. The staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome, even if we were a bit late for our initial arrival. The park was very clean and tidy and the facilities were also very clean and tidy. Will definitely be returning here again.

The park is ideally situated for Whitby and Scarborough and surrounding villages. Great walk to Robin Hoods Bay from campsite. The facilities at the campsite were good and our pitch was in a good spot. My partner complained that the gents shower floors were dirty, I said that was probably because people were showering with flip flops on, and of course he didn’t have shower shoes.

Nice enough family campsite, however, the toilet/shower blocks could do with some updating, and you have to hold down the tap to try and wash your hands. Not the best. Nice views. This is a great site for people who don't mind loud kids and dogs. Apart from that, it was a great base to venture out as it is close to Whitby, North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Filey, Scarborough etc. We personally wouldn't stay at this campsite again.
Site's response
The water taps are "press" taps to stop people leaving the water running when they leave the basins. There are sink plugs at all basins so you can wash your hands! Maybe people should realise that during the summer school holidays, there will be children on the best sites. Maybe visit adult only and dog free sites.

Had a much needed rest at Middlewood Farm in the camping pods. Pity the weather was rainy but everything else was fine. The shared facilities were clean and kept that way throughout our stay. The pod had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Only fault we found was could have done with another plug socket so we could charge both our phones at the same time.

We stayed for 7 nights and the area was new to us. It was short to visit all the nice things Moor Beach etc. And we enjoyed the whole time living at the campsite. The enjoyment of the little children with a safe place to play and run and bike. And also the friends and whole families that enjoy for a couple of days of the camping life. Really camping for all ages. A lot of space on the pitch. Fine atmosphere. Can be busy during the day, but lovely and quiet in the evening and night. Greetings from VW Van fans from Holland.

All the family enjoyed are stay here. The staff are very friendly and helpful, stayed at a lot of different campsites and this has the cleanest toilet and shower blocks out of all the ones we have stayed at. There's plenty of room for the kids to play football whilst making new friends. The kids enjoyed going over to the cow and horse fields as they are animal mad. Caught the bus just up the road from the site into Whitby and only cost £2 each, saved on having to get the cars out and working out parking. We ate from the chip shop called 'Fish Box' and must say, it was worth every penny. Chips were lovely and the fruity curry is the best i've had. Overall, I would recommend and definitely go back.

We went as a family with grown-up kids with the girls in a pod and my son and I in a tent. Was great having the pod to hang out in the evening and having fun as a family. Great location 10 minutes from Whitby. Friendly staff.

Lovely quiet site, nice facilities and walks to Robin Hood Bay through fields. Be aware of narrow lanes when approaching the site, otherwise fantastic location.

Nice and clean and well kept site at all times. Only thing not keen on is the tent site round back had a barrier that got locked at 10.45pm, whereas the family field didn't.
