There are also great onsite facilities including a licensed shop, dog wash and dog exercise field, a gym, games room and more!

About Longnor Wood Holiday Park

This campsite is just for adults (18+) and covers over 10 acres of land, including a four-acre dog walk/exercise field with stunning views and spectacular sunsets. The site is located in the heart of the Peak District National Park with unspoilt, dramatic rolling countryside and charming villages. For campers there are four hardstanding pitches for tents each measuring 3m x 4m with a section of pea gravel for the main body of the tent and the rest is grass. Then there are electric and fully serviced hardstanding pitches for caravans and motorhomes. Every pitch has a 10 amp electric hook up. Do note that you may need chocks or risers for some pitches. The camping and touring area is open yet sheltered by mature trees and conveniently close to the amenities. For those who prefer camping with a little more luxury, there are two fully equipped, heated ensuite glamping pods with a double bed, ensuite shower room, kitchenette and a furnished veranda. One is dog friendly. There are also six caravan holiday homes with hot tubs as well as four lodges with hot tubs. The site is secluded and away from any light so you can enjoy nights gazing up at the starry night sky, there is also a no noise policy after 11pm making it the perfect spot for relaxing. The onsite games room, gym and sauna are sure to keep you busy, there are also homemade sourdough pizzas available Saturday evenings that can be pre-ordered and delivered to your pitch, or why not start Sunday morning off right with a breakfast bap? Ideally located for visiting Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock or exploring the stately homes of Haddon Hall or the Chatsworth Estate. The small village of Longnor is around two miles away where there is a shop, pub and fish and chip shop. There are a range of great pubs within a short drive serving home-cooked food and real ales. Buxton and Bakewell are both around 20 minutes by car. Bring your four legged friend along with up to two well-behaved dogs welcome per pitch free of charge. There is also a large dog walk and exercise field with great views, plus a hot and cold water dog wash, so no more muddy paws in your tent or tourer! There are also plenty of walking trails around. Fire pits and BBQs are available for hire too so you can cook up something tasty and stay warm as you spend a night stargazing! Please note, to make the most of your time at Longnor Wood you will need a car as public transport options are limited.

Longnor Wood Holiday Park is open from 01/01 to 03/01 and 02/02 to 31/12 in 2024 and from 01/01 to 02/01 and 02/02 to 31/12 in 2025.

Facilities and amenities

Guests have access to an amenity block with free hot water, modern showers (no push button), covered pot wash, use of a kettle, toaster, microwave and freezer, plus a laundry equipped with a washer/dryer. Vending machines including fresh coffee available 24-7. Glamping pods offer ensuite facilities.

Park facilities also include free WiFi, EV charging point, scenic four-acre meadow dog walk, a dog wash shower and an information room with board games and DVDs to borrow. There is a small gym and games room with a pool table and a small, licensed shop sells local produce with vending machines for hot drinks and confectionary available all day. Pizza and breakfast rolls available at weekends.

Five minutes away is the small, cobbled square of Longnor village where you'll find a shop, chip shop, pub and more. Chatsworth House, Buxton and Bakewell can all be reached by car within 25 minutes.

Amazing site and facilities, they have thought of everything! The only thing I would change is for there to be some advice that the pitches are on an angle so we could have been prepared with additional leveller, ramp etc. This is only our 4th site we have been to and have never needed anything to level the van.

A wonderful stay on a peaceful site, in beautiful surroundings. They have literally thought of everything here to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. We ordered pizzas one evening and breakfast baps, all delivered to the door and delicious. Some lovely walks from the site and we really enjoyed the sauna. Great staff who are doing a brilliant job of keeping the site clean.
