I had no complaints besides a couple of people making noise past midnight but that’s normal for campsites. I’ll definitely come back with my partner next time we want to do some climbing!

Fantastic location with great views. The staff were friendly and helpful. A well stocked shop on site and only a 20 min drive to Keswick or Ambleside.

It was the first time me and my partner had stayed at this site but loved every minute of it. The views and location are breath-taking and it is relatively easy to access. The shop on site is stocked with almost anything you could need. The bathrooms were always very tidy and very warm, which was important to us because of the cold weather. The staff were super friendly and very helpful, especially when we had car troubles. There are many great walks just off the site and we didn't need to use our car during our stay. Would definitely recommend.

My best camping experience so far! Everyone was helpful, the wardens would pass through to make sure that we are safe and there are not problems around. The facilities were super clean all the time and there is a small shop available, with equipment and food supplies as well. Literally everything you'd need. It needs to be mentioned that the prices at the shop were very cheap. Many products were cheaper than buying them on the market. That shows a lot.

Nice quiet place in the bottom of an amazing valley, has an atmospheric inn with a nice walk up the hills right at the campsite. Staff polite and friendly with not too strict but reasonable rules.

Stayed here in the start of October. The check in staff were friendly. Lovely views we came on a windy day but it was nice hot showers. Good parking close to pitches, good shop for all the essentials.

Ideal spot just near Ullswater but also some excellent walks with ready access to high fells. Site was flat and well drained with good, clean facilities.

We stayed in late September, three adults and two 3-year olds. It's a great site, plenty of pitches and parking. The shop was fantastic - had everything you could ever need such as: food, drinks, camping gear, toys and books for kids. The onsite pub is pretty convenient too, although we were too late to book a table for the Saturday night. We were able to rent a fire pit for the night too, which was nice (although a rather surly staff member did come and throw a watering can of water over ours at 11.01pm - bit much! Rest of the staff were lovely). Overall, highly recommend the site. Will definitely be back.

Lovely site, well situated and clean facilities. On site shop has all the bits you might have forgotten. Plenty of space and parking around the site.

I really enjoyed my stay at Sykeside. Beautiful surroundings. I was a little disappointed with the lack of recycling. If the owners would put bins for plastic, glass, organic and general waste all in the same place it would certainly help. People are generally lazy. If they have to go from A to B to sort their waste, they won't. In the big green bins around the site I saw all of the above, and half burnt wood, shopping baskets, tents! Apart from this, I had a lovely time.

Amazing location and unbelievable views. Only thing I’d say is there needs to be more parking as you will lose your space if you pop out for an hour or so. Also avoid busy times as some campers can be a bit inconsiderate of others with loud speakers etc.

I'm glad we chose to stay in the tent. We had all what we needed and we have paid a lot less than what we would've paid for any other accommodation.
Possibly the best campsite in the Lake District?

We arrived at Sykeside Campsite on a Friday evening in some of the best weather they’d apparently had in months. It was glorious sunshine and the sun was a beautiful site as it began to set behind the mountains around us. You’re situated in the middle of wainwrights that surround you such as Hartsop Dodd, Stony Cove Pike, High Hartsop Dodd etc. with Brothers Water to the North. It’s a site to behold and looks incredible at sunset and sunrise. The campsite staff were so helpful and really friendly. Helping us get checked in and set up. There were a few that walked around the site to help with anything if needed and were great craic. We went up Hartsop Dodd the next day, continuing onto Stony Cove Pike then down from St Ravens Edge before heading back up Red Screes and eventually down Middle Dodd back onto our campsite as we hugged it the full way round. It was a brilliant walk and we’ll definitely be back to cover the rest of the Kirkstone and Dovedale circuit. We finished off in the Brothers Water Inn, located on the campsite. It’s recommended you book prior if you want food. We had the most amazing Haddock and chips (great to see skin on!) and a handful of real ales. Which were much needed after the walk. There’s a shop on site, showers, dishwasher area, great pub obviously and an even better location. Will definitely be back soon. Possibly one of the best campsites in the lakes.

I stayed here with three friends during August and the campsite was pretty much perfect. The views were incredible and it had very good choice of spots to pitch our tent so we could face the scenery. Despite us going in the summer, we were still faced with a lot of rain. However, the campsite provided dryers which came in very handy. As for the other facilities, they were standard and relatively clean (what you'd expect from a campsite really). The location of the campsite is great as you are within reach of so many different country walks and little towns to visit. We travelled over to Buttermere one day (highly recommended!) which is just over an hour each way, and were still able to get back in time for dinner All in all, we had a great stay and enjoyed a wonderful meal to finish off the trip at the restaurant/inn nearby, they recommended booking a table so I would call ahead if you are looking to eat there on your first night.

Such an amazing campsite! The views every way you looked are breath-taking, and the facilities are super clean. Even the washing up/laundry room, you can tell it all gets cleaned daily. Will definitely be coming back for longer next time.

Beautiful location, friendly and very helpful staff. Ground in some areas can be very soft if there's a lot of rain but we didn't flood. Showers always hot, shop handy. Would stay again!

If you want to feel like you're back in school, this is the place for you. The wardens felt confrontational and condescending. Despite our payment ticket being clearly displayed on our tent, they still demanded proof of payment. They also started enforcing quiet hours at 10:50pm, even though quiet time doesn't begin until 11. The campsite itself is poorly maintained. The ground is littered with rocks, making it nearly impossible to secure tent pegs or set up windbreakers. The centre of the camp was flooded during our stay, adding to the discomfort. Parking near the tents is extremely limited, and when we attempted to unload our car on the grass in the rain, the wardens reacted as if we had committed a serious offense. Additionally, the girls' toilets and showers are closed for 90 minutes during the morning, right when most people are getting ready for the day. The solution offered? To use the men's facilities, which I feel is far from acceptable. Overall, the combination of unhelpful staff and poor site conditions made for a very disappointing experience.

It was a pleasure to spend 2 nights at this amazing location, with stunning views and plenty of space for children to play. The staff were always polite and helpful! The toilets and showers were cleaned regularly, a very clean area for washing dishes etc. Ideal for people who would like to chill in beautiful scenery or for the more active, plenty of walks in surrounding area.
Beautiful site, plenty space relaxed and good facilities.

Beautiful picturesque camp site, ideally located. Reception staff lovely, helpful and knowledgeably. Small but well stocked shop with breakfast butties and fresh coffee. We stayed beginning of August, the campsite was busy, the facilities reflected this and the bins were overflowing the whole stay (4 days). However, the site itself never felt anything other than peaceful. Bins aside, I was so pleased with the campsite it is with reluctance I mention the Brotherswater Inn, the food is a hard pass! The staff were neither friendly or helpful and the food was overpriced and of a very poor standard. Despite the Inn, I would recommend the campsite itself.
