About Lamb Cottage Caravan Park

Set in the rural countryside of Cheshire, this award winning adult only site is the perfect peaceful haven for exploring this stunning part of England. Situated within an hour of the coast, the England and Wales border, and the Peak District National Park, it is an ideal location for days out. Caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents are welcome on one of the site's 41 fully serviced super pitches. Each of the pitches are 6m x 11m and come equipped with 16 amp electric, water and a grey waste drain. There is a hardstanding area for your car, caravan and awning with a lawned area to each side so everyone has ample space. For those wanting an extended stay, there are also 30 seasonal fully serviced pitches available. The site is set in beautifully manicured grounds and is home to an abundance of wildlife to enjoy, such as rabbits, pheasants and wild birds. You can enjoy easy access to many local walking trails and cycle routes, a wonderful way to spend a restful afternoon. BBQs are welcome as long as they are not on the grass. Campfires are not allowed. Up to two dogs are welcome per pitch.

Facilities and amenities

Site facilities include toilets, showers, disabled facilities, a laundry room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board and an indoor washing up and veg prep area. There are also hairdryers, shaver points, an information centre with a library and a payphone. The site also provides a motorhome service point

The park is dog friendly with an enclosed dog walk on site and a dog wash with hot water to keep your furry friends clean and warm. The park also offers free WiFi.

The Plough Inn pub is a 20 minute walk away, and your nearest shop is Handleys News and Convenience which is a five minute drive away.

Please position your caravan with offside rear corner to the tap /electric post so that awning (if applicable) is also on the hard-standing area and car at front (or side if no awning). No parking on the grass please.

Only one car per pitch please, additional cars are to be parked in the visitors' car park.

There are two rubbish bin areas in the touring park. One by the motorhome service point just past the reception office on the right and another one near to the dog walk. Please recycle where possible.

The chemical toilet waste disposal point is situated behind the motorhome service point just past the reception and car park on the right.

Quiet, well behaved dogs are very welcome provided that they are under strict control at all times and on a lead around the park - there is a small dog walk on site and there is further walking in the forestry opposite.

This is not a large park so they do not have designated office staff and therefore no set hours. There are many other jobs to do during the day. The best time is from around 11.30am when they will be cleaning the facilities and during the afternoons whilst they are awaiting arrivals. If you need to speak to anyone urgently, please phone.

Please inform reception if you are expecting visitors. All visitors (2 max) must be over 18 and must park in the visitors' car park. The site request that they vacate the park by 9pm please.

Please vacate your pitch by 12 noon on the day of departure.

No smoking is allowed on the veranda around the toilet block due to fire risk and it is against the law to smoke within any of our buildings

No televisions, radios or heaters are allowed in awnings.

As the site is on a water meter the washing of cars and/or caravans is not allowed on the park.

No washing lines / rotary airers allowed. Hook-on window airers only, please. There is a tumble drier available in the laundry.


FAQ

You are welcome to check-in from 1pm, and the very latest arrival can be 8pm. Check out is then due by 12pm on the day of your departure.

Up to two dogs are welcome per pitch. However, they must be quiet, well behaved and not aggressive. No fouling is allowed in the park and please clean up any "accidents" and put all dog waste in the bins. There is a dog walk provided and there is further walking in the woodland opposite the park. Dogs are not allowed on the veranda around the toilet block. All dogs must be on a lead around the park and must not cause a nuisance to other guests.

BBQs are welcome, just please ensure they are on the hardstanding and not the grass. Sorry, campfires are not allowed.

Yes, the site does allow group bookings of up to four pitches, but hen and stag parties are not allowed.

Yes, you are welcome to bring an awning, just add this on when you book.

Yes, there is space on the hardstanding area of your pitch for you to park your car. Please do not park on the grass.

Yes, everyone can enjoy free WiFi at their pitch.


The park is just 30 minutes away from the historic town of Chester with its beautiful architecture and places of interest such as the city walls and the stunning cathedral. Don't miss the World famous Chester Zoo and the Anderton boat lift (15 minutes).

Liverpool is a 50 minute drive away and full of things to do. Head to the British Music Experience and enjoy all of the interactive exhibits and memorabilia from the history of British rock and pop. Football fans can also head to the city's famous Anfield and take a stadium tour or even go to see a live interview with a club legend.

If you enjoy walking then why not try the Whitegate Way, an old railway line, which was once used by heavy goods trains to transport salt from the Winsford salt mines to the main line and is now a great place to walk and explore the area and its natural beauty.

Little Budworth Country Park (10 minutes) is nearby or there is Delamere Forest (15 minutes), a peaceful place for all abilities to walk and enjoy local wildlife.

Take a visit to Arley Hall (30 minutes), used in the filming of Peaky Binders for the family's country home. Here you can find the 19th century county home, with stunning formal gardens, it is a great location for a restful afternoon out.
