Shepreth Mill is a great spot to set up camp alongside a river, a great base for exploring Cambridgeshire. Campers and tourers are welcome on both the non electric grass and electric hardstanding pitches. This is a small site where dogs are welcome.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesMay 2022

This little site is owned/managed by a lovely and responsive man. It's really well located, with good access to Cambridge and lots of lovely walks and places to eat nearby. It's peaceful and, despite being so close to the A10, there was no or little road noise. The only thing that lets it down is the facilities. Whilst the main toilet block was clean enough, the showers weren't great and not super clean. There were some issues with shower repairs and drain blockage, but the owner was responsive and doing his best to get it all sorted out. If you want a peaceful site, for a few nights and aren't too worried about on site showers, it's absolutely grand. There is a chemical waste deposit and drinking water fill up, but no grey water disposal.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesMay 2022

Really nice weekend camping! We were so lucky and ended up having the whole place to ourselves all weekend which was a treat! Very friendly owners who recommended some lovely walks. We did Wimpole Hall on the way home, around 15 mins away. Basic facilities but all you need. Would recommend, thank you!

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesApr 2022

Lovely quiet and peaceful. The owner is lovely and willing to help a newbie like me reverse and park my van. There's a lovely walk along the river to the village where you can visit the Wildlife Farm or catch a train. I'm hoping to go back again as it was so relaxing.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesApr 2022

An extremely quiet campsite. So lovely to get away. The owner who usually ran the campsite was in hospital the whole time we were there. His wife was very friendly and helpful, greeted us, showed us to our pitch and came and checked on us if we were about. The facilities were very clean, although there was only one shower as the owner was redoing the showers when he became unwell so the other showers were not available. This wasn't an issue for us as we use our own facilities in our caravan. We were nervous having to pay for electric which is on a meter and you pay for by purchasing a card. However, it is the same cost as the actual electric to the house and not bumped up. We ran our fridge, microwave, hot water, kettle, electric frying pan (we cooked most main meals) and sometimes heater - and it came to £16 for 11 nights! So not a worry at all. The campsite is great and we were able to go to English Heritage, National Trust and Historic House properties in the area. The park and ride into Cambridge is roughly 4 miles up the road. Royston was nice and have a pop up cinema in the town hall which was great. We didn't have time to explore the village or the pubs. Convenient location to explore the wider area. Would definitely recommend if you like quiet and friendly people.

Motorhome - Non Electric Grass PitchesMar 2022

Brilliant location, helpful staff. My husband found the showers not very powerful but that was not a problem as we have a good shower in our motorhome. Will definitely come back to this site. There is also a pub ten minutes walk away and a local railway station that we took to go into Cambridge. You can also go to London from the same station.

A very warm welcome from the site owner, great being able to get on site after 10 am. The showers, toilet and washing up block is a little dated but is clean and perfectly functional. There was a lovely pub 7 mins walk from the site which did excellent food. We will return again soon as I love the area and the air museums.

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesNov 2021

Lovely quiet site situated on the bank of the river. Lots of ducks and moorhens etc. Plenty of lovely walks to local villages. I didn't use the facilities so can't comment on them. Will definitely book to go back in the summer.
