Lovely stay, excellent facilities. One of the best I've stayed on in the UK. Close to York and park and ride. Friendly manager and family orientated site. Kids loved it, one hid in the trees as she wanted to stay 😂

Our first experience of camping was at Nurseries and it couldn't have been better. Clear information was given about the site and the receptionist re-opened the shop so that we could get some milk onside rather than go to the supermarket. Shower and toilet facilities were good and clean. It was lovely to be on a site with so many trees to provide shade on a very hot weekend. Very convenient for the centre of York.

We only stayed one night. It was short notice as we were taking our caravan for its service. The staff are so kind and friendly. We needed to arrive slightly later than advertised and leave earlier than site times. They accommodated us and gave us a pitch with easy access, no problem. The site itself is lovely and has a lovely woodland feel. Facilities are clean and well maintained. I was sad to leave. We will definitely be back.

Really nice site. Quiet with ample room between vehicles. The amenities were a very good standard, clean, well looked after and kept in good condition.

We only had three days to visit, we came to visit family and stayed with them one night so were on site for two nights. It was very peaceful and pleasant and the weather was a help as we could sit out for meals in peace.

The site was nicely located amongst woodland and conveniently accessible to York. Our only observation was there only being three shower cubicles for the entire site. We would happily return.
Great green space on the outskirts of town

A former tree nursery - the place is partly in the middle of the forest. We had two very nice nights. The pitches are very large, gravel with a piece of meadow next to them. There are big trees everywhere that provide shade. Every site has electricity and many even have their own water. We received a very warm welcome and there is also a small kiosk at the reception. The sanitary facilities are clean and well-equipped. Unfortunately it wasn't particularly warm due to the open design and the door that didn't close well. You can walk to a bus stop in 15 minutes - you have to cross some busy streets on the way. Not so nice. You can get to the centre in just over half an hour by bus. Great for a few nights, we wouldn't stay longer, also because you can clearly hear the street nearby. Oh yes, and there is a great playground for children! Translated from German.

Very nice and spacious campsite, very friendly host. Only small thing would be that it's close to the road so you will hear the road a bit but that's only because it is a perfectly quiet camping.

Had a mechanical issue with our motorhome which meant we had to move our planned dates. Contacted the site and they were happy to help us. The site is very clean and well maintained. The dog walk is excellent. Access to cycle route into and around York was very convenient. International campers also stay here, particularly German and Dutch.
Well situated campsite for visiting York

We much appreciated how we were informed about visiting York, by bus, by foot, by car, where to park free, etc. For us from abroad all in clearly understandable language.

Lovely clean site and facilities. Nice park for the little ones and very secluded under the trees if you are lucky enough to get sunshine which we did. Site is surrounded by trees. Pub walkable in Arkham Bryan, bus stop not too far away into York although it doesn't run on Sunday so we walked for about 40 mins to Tesco Extra and picked up the bus up there into York. There's a cycle path you can take in as well which is about four miles. Would visit again.

We originally booked for 5 nights and ended up staying for 8. The park is clean, tidy and the staff, from reception to groundsmen, all very polite. Very clean toilet block and plenty of water points scattered around the pitches. The trees surrounding the park offer protection from the elements, and the variety of wildlife was incredible. We booked this park for the first time to visit some friends locally. Plenty of shops and attractions locally, we will definitely be rebooking.
Feels like countryside but great access to York

A beautifully kept site with great facilities, especially the kids play area which is so beautifully designed. Pitches are a great size and the location is fabulous for access into York, whether that's by bike, walking or bus (or car).

Lovely site. Lovely guy (and dog) in reception. The showers normally started off a bit cool then ended up being too hot?? Shower block nicely heated. Great games room, great for kids and grown ups.
Nice site, but could be so much better

If I can just go through my star rating above, I think they need explanation... This site is reasonably close to York city centre, but far enough removed to be quiet and peaceful. If you are fit enough to walk at a reasonable pace, there is a bus stop within 15 minutes walking, although the bus only runs once an hour and can be full. A 30 minute walk takes you to the park and ride, close to the big Tesco store, this is a 7 minute drive. From there the city centre is accessible every 10 minutes. The site is good value but would be more value, if the facilities were improved somewhat. The staff were very helpful, even lent me a long hook up cable, as the position of the power hubs was a considerable distance from the front of our van (we have a VW T6 camper with the plug in point behind the front VW badge). The cleaning man was always chatty and very visible. The facilities are where the site loses points. Although kept clean most of the time, the one toilet/shower block has only 3 toilet cubicles, 3 showers and 3 sinks. There are no urinals in the gents, so a toilet cubicle is required even for a quick number one, causing some hopping moments on occasion. There were 2 washing up sinks which, considering the site was busy, were well used - as, you can imagine, were the toilets and showers. The design/layout of the site does not make it easy to make your way to the facilities block, basically you have to follow the winding road to get there, or cross other camper's pitches. The site was generally tidy and I can't blame the site owners for the personal hygiene issues some people seem to want to share... The shower block cleaner had his/her work cut out. The bins were a central affair, close to reception, not close to most of the pitches. Overall, we were happy with our stay, I liked the personal entry/exit code and site security and I liked that it was quiet and peaceful but, with a little thought and improvement, it could be really good. Thanks, we enjoyed our stay.

Lovely little place to visit. It was very easy to find and loved that it was close to many things such as York city, a large Tesco superstore (which was 5 mins drive) and also York outlet shopping. It was lovely and quiet and just a wonderful break from everyday life. The pod was clean and came with all relevant facilities. Loved the fact it had a double bed, which was very comfortable, and loved the space saving feature of pulling it down from the wall.

An ideal site where all pitches have ample hardstanding. Very reasonable charge in comparison to nearby sites for full hook-up. Shower block was clean and provided washing machines. A set fee of £12 taxi into town and on the ring road so easy to get to from any route in. Great find. Will use again.

Easy to find and great access. Instant good first impression on arrival by very warm and friendly staff at reception, with great local information. Pitch was level in a small cul de sac area, which made it feel relaxing. Shower block was nice, warm and clean. Dog walk nearby. A 15 min walk to a bus stop to York where we explored on two days. It would have been easy to hop on a bus or train to further destinations. We will stay again.
