Hi, very good site, clean and tidy with excellent facilities. If the site was full, the shower situation would be a problem, and I was disappointed that the owners didn't come over and say hello. Never saw anyone, but overall, it was excellent!! Would stop here again.
Site's response
Hello John. Thank you for your review and recommendation. You're absolutely correct that our paths never crossed during your stay. I try not to "pounce" on people when they arrive/setting up, but catch up with them during their stay - but during the day you were out and about and once people have drawn their curtains, I leave them be! Hopefully we'll have a proper catch-up another time. Paul

Great site close to M6, perfect for a quick getaway. It's a shame the showers are an extra charge (20p for 3 minutes). Paul and Sarah were very welcoming, thank you!
Site's response
Thank you for the review and recommendation Poppy. Previously, the showers were free, but we had multiple instances of people leaving the shower running and draining all 300lts of the hot water in the "stone block" shower, or repeatedly hitting the "free shower" button and emptying the 47kg Calor gas cylinder - both of which meant that the showers couldn't be used by anyone else. At the same time that the 20p for 3mins was reintroduced, we also added complimentary high quality shampoo, shower gel, conditioner & hair dryers. Paul

Booked at the last minute and although this was our first outing in our new campervan, it was extremely simple. We were greeted by Paul on arrival and although we had no need for any help other than to find our pitch, we were made to feel very welcome. Also although the TV signal was supposed to be poor with a decent boosted aerial, we found it no problem at all.
Site's response
Thank you for the 5* review and recommendation Andrew and I'm glad that your first trip was a success. Thank you for the headsup about the TV reception - we are smack on the border between Granada and Border and previously we haven't enjoyed a strong analogue signal from either of them. With a Kindle firestick (or similar) you can watch TV via the site wifi, or, other people have had good results with a digital ariel. Paul

A small site, friendly and well maintained, with beautifully clean shower block. Good location, just off the main road, and ideal for exploring both sides of the estuary, or further into The Lakes. Great place for a short break, not too far from home in South Manchester.
Site's response
Hello Helen. Thank you for the recommendation, 5* rating and lovely review. The 3 of you were the final booking for our 2021 season and it was nice to finish the season with such nice people (& a 4 legged nice person). Hopefully we'll be able to host you again in 2022. Paul & Sarah

A comfortable and very clean site. The owner was very helpful - the only draw back was that the nearest pub was booked up for evening meals which we didn't believe - we think it was because we had a dog with us.
Site's response
Thank you for the recommendation Beverley, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Since the Crooklands Hotel changed hands in Autumn 2020 it has become dog friendly and dogs are very welcome in the bar area. The Crookies also has 3 function rooms that have been very busy this season and sometimes they limit numbers in the downstairs bars and restaurants, because the kitchen and waiting staff are working at capacity. Hopefully you'll have better luck at the Crookies next time. Paul

Lovely little site with very clean facilities. Has everything you need including washup facilities. Nice pub only five minutes walk from site with good food and beer. Had a nice 5 mile circular walk from the site along the canal and over fields. Site within easy driving or bus distance to Kendal or further into the Lakes. Will be returning.
Site's response
Thank you for the lovely review and recommendation Christine. I hope that you enjoy your next stay just as much. Paul

Fabulous little site. Located in a countryside/rural location itβs handily only about five minutes from the M6 so a great stopover if needed. The pitches are a great size and not overcrowded. The toilet block is super clean and has tons of lovely little touches such as cotton wool, shower gel and shampoo. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you foe the lovely 5* review and recommendation Tracey.
