Lovely relaxed site, flat grassy field. Lots of quiet roads locally, ideal for cycling. I hired a bike and visited Glastonbury town and the Tor. Shower and toilet facilities are a little bit, shall we say, rustic? But clean and functional, hot showers and has a dish washing area. You can hire fire pits and buy kindling and logs. Owners were lovely, very helpful and I had a lovely stay.

We had a wonderful stay here. The location is very rural, away from busy roads, light and noise, but still within easy distance of Glastonbury, Wells and Shepton Mallet, as well as other attractions like Wookey Hole, Longleat and Cheddar Gorge. It's very quiet and family friendly, the toilets, showers and washing up facilities are ideal and well maintained. Provision of fridges, freezer and a microwave (for sterilising bottles) is something that really stood out for us. The owners are very friendly, happy to chat and give tips for places to visit, walk and see. We also loaned a fire pit from them for the duration of our stay with logs and firelighters included for a very reasonable price. If we could have stayed longer we absolutely would have!

Me my husband and 6 year old son had a wonderful few days staying at Greenacres! Such a lovely little campsite, cute play area and clean facilities. Even a family of swallows nesting near the facility's which was lovely to see so close! Good distance from different attractions and towns. Will definitely be staying here again. Big thanks to Alan and Beverly x

My young daughter and I absolutely loved our stay here! It was totally relaxing and felt peaceful, even with all the children playing. Such a beautiful atmosphere with feel good vibes. Ideal for visiting the locals towns and villages, or just staying put! Sufficient facilities for the pitch capacity - even with a full camp we never had to wait to use anything. The toilets were always clean and well supplied, and the bins never overflowing. And the ground is beautifully maintained with thick, soft grass. The owners take great care of the site and their visitors. Oh and the ample, communal fridge and freezer space was a great relief. The facilities here really take the pain out of camping! I would highly recommend this site to those with young families. Even single parents like myself can enjoy a relaxed, painless stay here as pretty much the whole camp is in eyesight and you're only ever a few long strides away from the toilets! Only disappointment for us is that they're not open beyond early September and we'll have to wait until May for them to re-open - we truly just can't wait to go back there!!! :) This is now most definitely our preferred choice for staying in Somerset.
Site's response
Thank you Adelle! So pleased you both enjoyed it... we have a lot of single parents stay here / or parents with single children - and the children always meet other children and enjoy themselves. We look forward to seeing you both again :-) Beverley and Alan.

We are a group of 6 (5 adults and 1, 10 year old girl) and stayed there over the Bank Holiday weekend for 3 nights. Despite the unstable weather, we had a brilliant weekend there. We booked 2 pitches for 3 tents. 2 of them were four-man tents, 1 was a small pup-tent. The pitches are completely flat and all located around the edge and the middle of field is empty for everyone to enjoy playing football or badminton. Facilities were all clean and they have toddler toilet seat attached on the all toilet, which I thought a nice touch. We had our fire pit with us, but they had some bricks to raise our firepit from the ground. They also sell logs for fire at £7.50 for a big bag. There are children's play area with two small huts where kids can go inside and play. My daughter particularly loved swings (well, it's just a normal swing) and she spent so many time there with her newly made friends. We visited Wells on the first day which is only 4 miles away. Wells is a beautiful city with magnificent cathedral. We joined the tour which takes about 1 hour and it was brilliant. We went to Chedder Gorge on the next day, which is about 30 minutes drive. We booked it in advance, but there is a discount ticket available at the campsite too. After checked out on the last day, we visited Glastonbury Tor and Burnham-on-Sea before heading back home. All experience was perfect apart from the beach, maybe because of the weather but the water looked very muddy and I couldn't bear to swim although my daughter didn't mind and enjoyed swimming.

We stayed for one night on our way to Cornwall, I wish it was more. The site was quiet on the night we were there but fully booked for the bank holiday weekend. Beautifully maintained, lots of fridges and freezers for you to utilise, a play area for the children, spacious toilets. The pitches are huge and the owners are lovely people and helpful. What's not to love.

We had a very nice stay at this small campsite. It turned out to be well located to make day trips to fantastic places like Stonehenge, Glastonbury and Bath. The Abbey of Wells, just a few miles away was a big pleasant surprise as well. The facilities at the campsite are elementary but clean and sufficient. The camping owners were friendly and pleasant and the many swallows that nested at the site were great to have as neighbours.

Thank you for your review - and we're glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We always strive for 5/5 - so if there was anything we could have done to make your stay better - please let us know! Thank you! :-) Beverley and Alan.

Lovely campsite on flat ground. Pitches well spaced. Good facilities and excellent, friendly hosts. Road access is narrow and road quality 'variable', but these are obviously out of the control of the owners. Would certainly stay here again.
Site's response
Thank you Kevin! Yes - we only take motorhomes up to 7.4m as we agree that some of the lanes are too narrow for anything more! We look forward to seeing you again - and thank you for taking the time to write this - we appreciate it. Beverley and Alan.

This was a site where as soon as we pitched up, we knew we'd be coming back. The site itself is perfectly situated for taking in the best of Somerset including Glastonbury and Wells, both of which are very near. It's a wonderfully peaceful site with big pitches and a lot of attention to detail - particularly to providing activities for children. The site is immaculately kept by the owners Beverly and Alan who are the friendliest hosts you'll meet. You can tell that ensuring that people enjoy their stay is a real priority for them. As our last few days camping of the summer, it was a lovely stay and we'll look forward to visiting again in 2024!

Lovely small site with spacious pitches around edge of a field- with the centre kept clear, giving space and plenty of room for ball games. Fairies, table tennis and some play equipment to keep kids amused alongside a fab box of balls, bats etc to borrow. Very friendly owners who really care about their visitors having a great time- with bikes to hire and lots of info about the local area. We stayed overnight from Bristol, but really accessible to Street (and its fab Lido), Glastonbury, Wells and Cheddar. Will definitely be back.

Lovely family friendly campsite in a beautiful rural setting. The owners were super friendly and helpful. We love to have a fire and the firepits and wood supplied were very good quality. The children loved the playground, huge central grass area and hidden fairy garden. Great sized pitches and clean facilities. No shop, but lots of supermarkets a short drive away. It was fascinating to watch the swallows nesting in the roof of the washing up area.
Site's response
Thank you Jessica! And we are so glad you enjoyed staying with us. Re: the swallows. We will post more photos on Facebook when we see the babies - everyone loves to follow them :-) Come back and see us again soon! Beverley and Alan.

I cannot recommend this campsite enough, Alan and Beverley are excellent hosts and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The campsite is set on the most beautiful grounds, with tents all around the edge of the fields. The pitches are large and there are goal nets in the centre and also space to play for the children games. The play park is perfectly situated and has a variety of equipment that my kids loved - age 6 and age 14. They offer bike hire, which we did again -was super easy and the bikes are in great condition and the helmets too. The surrounding area is very quiet, so excellent for little riders. The facilities were super clean and everything you need, washing up stations with even supplied washing liquid and sponges! There is also a communal fridge and freezer, which makes life so much easier, especially in hot weather. We will 100% be returning and would recommend this site to anyone.

We've been here several times now because this site is basically absolutely brilliant. Clean and well kept, with huge marked flat pitches all around the field edge (so you know you'll fit and there's no rush to 'bagsi' a decent space if you're arriving later). It's safe for the kids of all ages to play ball games in the middle of the field (but still in sight - from a distance!). The fridges/freezer access is great, they sell ice lollies and you can have a camp fire pit. And the customer service is fab. Camping the way it should be!

Thank you Kate! Lovely to see all of you - and I'm still impressed with the children's bubbles :-) We look forward to seeing you all again - Beverley and Alan.

Greenacres is a lovely site. It's a great location for visiting Glastonbury, Street, Wells and surrounding area. The owners are really welcoming, and have lots of information about the local attractions. The pitches are big and well maintained. Prices are really good, including for solo campers. Friendly atmosphere on site, with a range of games/bikes to hire. Lovely spot for country walks, and lots of wildlife to see. We especially enjoyed watching the swallows that nest on the campsite. Fantastic having access to a fridge. Bathroom facilities are simple, but clean and loads of hot water. Looking forward to being a regular visitor to this site, as really good distance from Bristol, for a weekend getaway.

Thank you Claire! So nice of you to write all of this - and lovely to have you stay with us. We'll keep everyone updated with the swallows nest and the soon to be babies :-) We look forward to seeing you soon :-) Beverley and Alan.

Our favourite type of campsite is one where the tents are all around the edge and there is plenty of space for the kids to play in the middle. This is exactly what you get at Greenacres, and the size of the field is huge. Our son, aged 10, played from the minute we got there and had a wonderful time. The campsite is a couple of miles outside Wells and is so peaceful with no main roads nearby. In the evening, we hired a fire pit and enjoyed a really great fire with marshmallows which you can buy on site. The fire pits are the best! The owners are lovely and are really helpful. This is our second visit to the site. We have relatives in Wells and we spent a full week there last summer. It was ideal to have a base where my son could have some space to run around and play instead of being cooped up in a small bungalow! We plan to be back again this summer. If you haven’t visited Wells, it is lovely. Beautiful cathedral, Bishops Palace gardens, great play park for the kids, excellent market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Close to Wookey Hole caves, Glastonbury Tor and Abbey, Cheddar Gorge as well as lots of nice walks. Good shopping in Street (Clark’s shopping village) which my teenage daughter loves.
