Hafod Hall Camping Club is a big, beautiful, family-run campsite in Wales that started in 2016. It's got amazing nature, mountain views, and incredible stars at night. It's a "wild" camping experience where you can have campfires and bring your dog. It's a bit of a digital detox, but super peaceful and close to lots of fun things to do. The prices have stayed the same since they opened and are even a bit cheaper for kids now!

Why you'll love it at Hafod Hall Camping Club

Off-grid and family friendly

Easy access to the Alwen Reservoir, with great fishing, walking and cycling paths

Incredible countryside views

About the site

Hafod Hall Camping Club started back in 2016, and it's become a really popular place for people who love being out in nature. It's run by a family, and you can come and enjoy the beautiful, untouched scenery whenever you want throughout the year. Their land is super big - like 650 acres in the Welsh countryside! It's a really calm and peaceful spot. It's next to big forests, a protected nature area, and a quiet lake called Alwen Reservoir. Hafod Hall is a great place to switch off from everything and feel refreshed while looking at awesome views of the mountains. Plus, it's known as a Dark Sky Area, which means the stars look super bright at night! What it's like to camp there: No/Limited phone service: You might not get much phone signal there. It's a chance to really get away from screens for a bit! But if you need to call someone, they have a regular phone you can use at the reception. You can usually find a phone signal if you go a little way from the campsite. Loving Nature: They like having campers who are careful with nature, and that includes people with dogs and kids. You can even have campfires to make your camping trip even better. (Just remember that little kids need to be watched closely, and anyone under 18 needs to be with an adult. If you haven't said you're bringing a child when you book, you'll need to let them know when you get there.) Getting Wood for Your Fire: If you want a campfire, you can buy baskets of wood for £12. You can ask for one when you book or get one at the reception. They take cash and cards. Our wood is seasoned for 2 years. Hafod Hall Camping Club is more than just a place to camp; it's like a friendly group of people from all over the UK and other places who all really like nature. They'd love for you to come and see what makes Hafod Hall so special!

Hafod Hall Camping Club is open from 05/01 to 31/12.

A note from the site themselves...

Hafod Hall Camping Club started out in 2016 with just a few people coming together to do what they love. We are a family owned business that is open all year. Little did we know that it would grow into the thriving Camping Club it is today. The land surrounding the property consists of 650 acres of beautiful unspoiled terrain.

With its boundary is a large area of woodland, a nature reserve and the Alwen Reservoir. Anyone staying at Hafod Hall can unwind in this remote and peaceful place. You can relax amongst the spectacular views of the Welsh mountains or recline under the nights clear sky, watching the stars (this area is a designated dark sky area).

We originally booked for 2 nights and ended up staying 1, due to a malfunctioning bed 😄 It was a beautiful place with lovely views, the staff were really friendly and helpful. If you like star gazing, this is the place, it was incredible. 10/10 would recommend to a friend, we'll be back!

Medium Tent - Wild Tent PitchesOct 2024

Traffic jams and other congestion meant a very late arrival. Sue and her son stayed up and met us on arrival, they made sure we had everything we needed for our stay and checked in with us again in the morning! Excellent service and very friendly, amazing setting.

Small Tent - Wild Tent PitchesAug 2024

Great camping site. Remote, close to nature, no mobile signal. Very beautiful place and people. Very helpful and friendly, with access to lake with option of fishing. Arrived on my motorbike and used it as my base to explore Snowdonia. Last 80-100 yards you ride on gravel road, which I loved. Could park my bike right next to reception. Big thanks to Ste, Graham and to the family that own and run the camp.
