Find a world of peace at the road's end! Badrallach has various pitches for tents and campervans (6m size limit), and also some more secluded pitches hidden in the gorse thickets for a little more privacy. Then there's the bothy, which is really a big stone tent - a great shelter for all. All this is set beside a crystal clear loch with endless Highland views and the tranquillity of a remote escape. Dog friendly.

The perfect remote campsite for intrepid campers! So beautiful and so much night sky. We picked blackberries too. Loved the honesty box asking for a contribution to setting up this little gem. Especially loved the shelves in the washing up room - identified for campers to leave bits and pieces for other campers! Well done for creating such a haven.

Great location, midge fest

This site is a great location if you want to go off grid. The facilities are basic but adequate. Not the owners fault I know, but be warned that the site is a complete midge fest and we were not the only ones that couldn't get off site quick enough.
Site's response
Hi Christopher. You're right, we have no control over midgies or the conditions that make them appear. I feel like your ratings are harsh. If our facilities were "adequate", then why 1 star?

If you'd like a remote stay, this one's for you. Set down a long track lane, the small campsite is only a short walk away from the Loch. The site had a Bothy which had fridge and washing up facilities. However, you cannot use if it is booked out. The toilets and showers were lovely, however, personally due to skin issues, I found the shower to be too powerful for me and in fact hurt. This was the cheapest campsite we stayed at. The track was very pot-holey and a challenge in a weighted down vehicle.
Site's response
Hey there, thanks for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed it here! I agree there are a couple of potholes near the entrance; due to our location it's been very difficult to have the correct material for resurfacing the path delivered, but we have finally found someone who will do it and this issue will be rectified very soon.
Remote little site, with quirky facilities

One of my best campsites that I ever been to. Quiet and peaceful. Recommend it. The cons: they don't have a shop and the nearest one is more than 8 miles away so you have to buy everything before you arrive. But you will enjoy every minutes there. Facilities are clean and free of charge. The sea is near the end of campsite maybe 100m away.

We loved the stillness, view and one of the things that impressed me the most was the conservation work. Nowhere else have I seen the rewinding and plans to improve the area and knowledge of the area provided. This made it into the 'spectacular realm'. Everyone there seemed happy with the site.

Peaceful spot and enjoyed our stay but missed out on electric site despite paying for same. Otherwise terrific.
Site's response
Hey there, glad you enjoyed your stay! Sorry that you missed out on the hookup - if you had given me a call in the evening I could have sorted it out for you as I am almost always on hand when needed. Thanks for your review and enjoy the rest of your travels!

Lovely campsite, well off the beaten track. Only a few pitches so even when it's 'busy' it's actually ok. Toilets, showers and communal areas are all clean and tidy (thanks to all the guests doing their part). The showers are amazing! Campsite staff and management were excellent and on hand if we'd needed them! The views from the campsite are exceptionally stunning. And Little Loch Broom shore was also impressive, if a bit windswept!

Really lovely little campsite. Loved the fire pit too, as we do love a fire when we're camping. It means it's extra safe. Gorgeous drive. Good pressure in the showers, which helps when washing long hair. Would stay here again.

We extended our stay by a further two nights as it is the most idyllic getaway and back to nature campsite we have found to date! Would highly recommend and think Martin Dorey who wrote Take The Slow Road would have loved to have included this hidden gem!! Read previous reviews and the road to the site again is stunningly beautiful, a little climb but nothing too worrying for a nervous traveller. Definitely worth a visit if you just want to get away and the facilities are spotless☺️

This is a lovely small and personal campsite that has everything. Fantastic views, an isolated beach a short walk away and a pub/restaurant right on your doorstep that serves excellent food. I would definitely recommend a stop here on the NC500 route.

The scenery makes up for the terrifying, yet entertaining drive to the campsite. Cows all along the road made it a hilarious journey, but then you get to the site! Tiny, secluded and surrounded by breathtaking scenes.

We had a lovely stay at Badrallach, it's such a beautiful place in a remote part of the Highlands. It's a small, friendly campsite with great eco facilities. The sea loch is a short walk away and another beach is accessible for those wanting a longer walk. The owners are really friendly and take time to check you have everything you need. Ensure you bring all your supplies with you as there is no shop in the area!
Site's response

Really pretty site with great views. Lots of midges though.
Site's response
Thanks for the positive review and rating, very glad you enjoyed your stay 🙂 Midgies do get bad in August if there's no breeze, there's a chance of getting midge magnets next season so this could make all the difference!

Lovely spot. Nice walk down to the loch for the kids to paddle in the water. Allocation of spots is first come first served but it seemed like the electric hook-ups were all taken so we had to park in a non-electric pitch for the night. Clearer marking of the pitches might help, especially as there are no staff on-site to answer questions if need be.
Site's response
Thanks for your review and rating, glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the feedback about the allocation of electric hook-up. Indeed, it is first come first serve, and there are times where there is no staff member on site, so on rare occasions mistakes like this can happen. We have managed to mitigate this by giving clear instructions by email and SMS to everyone before they arrive, and luckily it has by and large worked well. I urge for guests to give me a phone call when there are any complications - myself and all three of my colleagues live very close by and are always able to sort out any issues. Once again, thanks very much and I appreciate the feedback. I am happy to refund the electric hook-up cost for the night if you would like me to.

The setting is beautiful, as is the 'road' to the site. Having spent 9 hours on the bike, I was looking forward to a nice peaceful stay, before hitting the road again the following day. Unfortunately I kept getting woken up by late arrivals (last one I heard was 10.00pm).
Site's response
Sorry to hear about the late arrivals disturbing your sleep and affecting your stay with us, Jamie. I have taken that on board. There are occasions when guests will ask if they can turn up later than the 8pm cut-off and for flexibility, I often say yes, given where we are located. Although I request that they are considerate of other guests when arriving later, there is always a chance that they will disturb someone. I will consider a strict late limit as that seems reasonable. Thank you for your feedback, I hope you enjoyed the rest of your travels.
