5 night visit

An excellent site roomy, between other campers. A warm welcome and the staff are always available to help. Lots to do in surrounding area, the five sisters zoo was very good and a lot cheaper than Edinburgh zoo. The park and ride to go into the city centre was excellent value for money and easy to get to. Overall an excellent site and location will definitely return in the future.

Great stay

First time visit for the family and we all really enjoyed it. Facilities were fantastic, will be back.

Excellent facilities, welcoming staff

Great site close to Edinburgh. Showers and toilets are the best I have experienced while touring. Staff super helpful and great location, close to park and tram ride into centre of Edinburgh.

The toilets and site were very clean and cozy

The toilets and site were very clean and cozy. The elderly lady who received us upon arrival however, felt very unfriendly.

Sadly had only one night here, a gem of a site

Beautiful location, outstanding facilities, only downside was we only had one night here. we didn't get chance to do the walks so hope to go back. Perfect location to visit Edinburgh, the park and ride is only 5 mins away and The Kelpies a must see. We stayed as a last night before heading home after a tour of Mull. Wish we had longer, it is so well maintained. We will be back.

Clean site with good facilities

Excellent location for stopping before returning the van we had hired nearby. We loved the walk along the canal feeder to the pub in East Calder. Some noise from aeroplanes from Edinburgh Airport.

We came back

This is the second time we've stayed here and was not disappointed. Friendly site and so well kept, maintained and clean. We will be back again as have family in Edinburgh, so very convenient. Dogs enjoy the fabulous local walks.

Short stay in Edinburgh

Lovely site, friendly staff and very clean facilities. We did the park and rode tram into Edinburgh and it was so easy. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return in the future.

Beautiful place

Stayed here for two nights, beautiful, clean, quiet site. The public toilets are spotless and so are the showers. It was lovely seeing the planes fly overhead as it's near the airport. The parks were well-maintained for children and the site was also dog-friendly. The only thing I would suggest is a place to sit and have a meal or a takeaway, especially when you arrive on site as when you arrive you don't want to cook. It was also good that you could hire a BBQ although we didn't. Also there was designated area for doing dishes if needed and a laundry. Definitely stay again and recommend.

Fantastic campsite

This campsite exceeded our expectations. It was lovely and quiet, the staff couldn’t be more helpful and happy and it was very well looked after. It was apparent the staff take great pride in the site for their customers and nothing was too much trouble! The pitches were lovely and spacious, ideal for the kids! A special touch for us as a family was the access to the family room, bathing the kids kept the kids in somewhat of a routine and that was so valuable for us! Would highly recommend a stay here. Facilities are brilliant. Well done Linwater. We will be back soon!

Our stay

Really nice campsite, toilet facility was immaculate with modern decor. Not much to do in the surrounding area on foot, but are only 10-20mins away in the car. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Only negative would be the toilets close from 12-3pm for cleaning. Gates also close after 6pm, so ensure you have the barrier code to hand if arriving after 6pm.

Please allow me to clarify, the toilets are scheduled for cleaning between 12pm - 3pm every day, however, it does not usually take the cleaner 3 hours. The facilities are cleaned one at a time to ensure that there is always a toilet and shower available. We open up the family bathroom that has a toilet and shower as well as the disabled access facilities. As you will have noticed when you stayed, we hold a very high standard of cleanliness to ensure all guests have a comfortable stay.

Brilliant site, definitely recommend

This site is a hidden gem. Perfect location for exploring Edinburgh and beyond. Spotless facilities, best toilet block I've seen, kitchen room with everything you could need and more. Books, games and a Wii for public use. Can't think of any down points! We will be back.

Well kept and clean site

All is very good on this site. Great showers and also the communal kitchen is a great idea. Was a great location for Edinburgh and the park and ride. Would definitely use site again. Only downside for us was that there's only one laundry washer and it was never available to use, which was a bit inconvenient. Electric hook-up was too far from camper but we were able to borrow an extension lead. We were told that these issues are very soon to be rectified.

Great place, there is everything you need. I don't have any bad comments, if you want to relax in peace and eat there, I recommend it.

Lovely site

This site is one of the best sites in terms of facilities, cleanliness and a friendly reception, we have ever visited. All facilities available for all you require. A room with kitchen facilities available to all, and has a kettle and microwave also to use. Even had a Wii game and a selection of board games and tables and chairs to use. Small shop on site, and even has a laundry. Shower/toilets exceptionally clean and separate with men and women entrances. Highly recommend.

Welcoming and modern facilities

This site is immaculately clean, with brand new toilet and shower facilities. We had a warm welcome on arrival and the campsite leaflet is factual, with local information for food, sightseeing, transport etc within four miles of the park and ride Bus and Tram service into Edinburgh. This was so useful we bought a day pass. The actual campsite has a beautiful woodland walk, which we used to exercise the dog and appreciate the scenery and a nearby aqueduct. The only criticism was the noise from the aircraft landing at Edinburgh, which is quite close and was noisy in the morning. However, I advise you put your earplugs in. Would definitely revisit this site.

Lush and blissful

I wish I could give an 100 star rating because it was magnificent. Good pitch size. The location and walks were beautiful. It was central to Edinburgh and for trip to Stirling. It was peaceful with no rowdiness, just a beautiful stop. Please disregard what I say as don't want to let everyone know we found an oasis? Big up to the staff, who were friendly, polite and helpful. I applaud you all and it speaks volumes.
