This campsite is absolutely lovely. I stayed in a campervan so cannot comment on the glamping pods. The site is easily accessible, the toilet blocks were spotless, the staff were lovely and informative. All in all a very pleasant experience, I will definitely pay another visit to this site.

Poorly signposted for main road. Main issue was only two female toilets - facilities poor for tourers. No outdoor games. Park very poor - swings only. Felt this was over advertised for the actual facilities unfortunately. Staff lovely, couldn't use cafe as it didn't open until 9:30am.
Site's response
Hello Kirsty, Thanks for taking the time to leave your review. We do appeal to walkers, nature lovers and people who enjoy peace and tranquillity, agreed we are not a hugely commercial park. We do have outdoor games such as giant Jenga, coits and boule available from the Hayshed for guests to enjoy, outdoors. There are also football goals as well as the swings for children to enjoy. As a smaller site we have 2 female and 2 mixed toilets. The café opens earlier (8.30am) at weekends, tricky to get staff in earlier in the week. Re signage from the road, we are not allowed to put any signage up - we have asked and asked the council to no avail! Unfortunately that's out of our hands. Agreed it would be better, however, google maps does get you directly to the door.
Lovely peaceful stay

Lovely small campsite. The showers were super clean and the man in the cafe couldn't have been more welcoming. Would recommend for a quiet stay.

Beautiful location, spotless site, incredibly friendly staff members. Only downside was what sounded like an overnight rave going on a few miles away that was frustratingly loud!

Thanks so much for your wonderful review - shame about the noisy neighbour - most unusual :) We can't wait to welcome you back soon :)

Love what the owners are trying to do here. Very good use of the available space, with various seating areas and a range of accommodation to suit all tastes. Can see it being amazing in the summer. A lot of thought has gone into making this a really lovely site, with a touch of luxury. The new cafe/bar was a great added bonus, after a 9.5 hour journey from Scotland in horrendous weather conditions. Pizza and wine/beer excellent, even though we had our own food and drink in the van. Staff very friendly. Location is great. Liked the security gate, just remember the card for the code in and out. Spotlessly clean. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will be back 👍 A couple of points for improvement, based on being well-seasoned motorhomers: 1) Although there are hooks on the shower door where clothing can be hung up, the angle of one of the showers (gents) meant the clothing got wet. Shoes need to be left outside the cubicle to avoid getting wet. Can only comment on the one used. A shower curtain across the cubicles separating the space would resolve this. 2) We weren't aware of the location of the toilet disposal point. Had to go hunting for it. Wasn't where we expected it to be, but did eventually find it quite some distance away over near the games room, after a couple of walks around the site. A site map would resolve this, especially if it's forgotten about on arrival, or simply not heard by the customer. However this is a very beautiful, well-laid out site and we think it has great potential and will do well. Would have given 4.5/5 but could only choose 4 or 5. 😊👍

We stayed in the Drake pod and it was big enough for the three of us, plus two dogs. Beautiful setting in the countryside but still close enough to the local town. Friendly, helpful staff.

Such a nice holiday. The staff were all super friendly and helpful throughout. The toilets and showers were the best I've seen in this kind of camping/glamping set up. Really good, modern and very clean. Felt like a really safe place for the children to run around and play in, with a games room which they really enjoyed too. We brought our own food, but they offered food to order and to be brought up to the pod, which we might do next time. Really peaceful and quiet location which was perfect for my two children. Altogether great stay and we'll definitely be back! Thanks!

Very friendly staff soon as we arrived. Toilets are very modern and clean. The pod we originally booked was too small for us, we asked for an upgrade and without a problem. The very nice woman did this at a charge of only £35. Enjoyed the log fire on the last night, and just had a very quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

What a lovely place. We had a short stay as we were limited for time but basically cannot wait to go back. Firstly, we were welcomed by the young lad in reception who was incredibly kind and polite. We came badly prepared but thank goodness for the snack shed and nice grub at a fair price. Lovely. Breakfast there also a great idea - ordered the night before. All staff we encountered were lovely. The environment is a beautiful location with loads of places to go to. Thank you, Rossendale.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my 8 y/o daughter this weekend. We stayed in a pet friendly pod with our little Pomeranian. Location is perfect and peaceful. Lovely woodlands surrounding the site and hidden parks and swings over the little bridges (my daughter particularly enjoyed these). Bathroom facilities are brilliant! Always warm due to heating being on so not too bad if you need to visit the bathroom when it’s a bit cold outside. Brilliant little shop on site that has everything you could need. Definitely recommend ☺️

We have just had a wonderful 2 night stay and really enjoyed ourselves. It was peaceful and had great views from our pod. The staff are great very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. In particular, from the lovely young girl that checked us in. We will definitely come again - and our whippet dog, Rosie, also loved it!

Stayed for one night. Was allowed a fire and to extend awning ...which a certain campsite wouldn't allow unless we paid extra (which I think is out of order if it extends with boundary of pitch). Didn't use facilities as we are self sufficient, but look perfectly adequate ..... Welcome was lovely and cafe / bar looked lovely ..x
Site's response
Thanks Nicola for your kind review. We're so glad you enjoyed your peaceful stay with us. We do allow fires on the gravel areas only. Our cafe bar is indeed great and provides a wonderful breakfast, drinks and all sorts of snacks. We look forward to welcoming you again.

My son with autism wasn't going on his school residential - so I took him here for a couple of nights instead. Pods were clean and tidy, the bed was comfy and as good as they look online. Toilets/showers were spotlessly clean. Games room, play area for the kids, lovely communal areas to use the BBQs or light a fire pit. The café on site is fab. If you order breakfast the night before - they will deliver it to your pod in the morning. It's a great basic menu - something for everyone - breakfast roll was lovely. Staff were lovely and friendly - no complaints at all.

Booked to stay 2 nights with 2 adults, a child and a dog, in a campervan. Good parts: very clean site, toilets and showers immaculate. Staff very friendly. Good dish washing area with washing liquid provided. Nice park area for children. Not so great: 4 hardstanding pitches available, which is basically a stone car park. No privacy in between pitches. Did not feel relaxed due to stone pitches and no privacy. Stones very hard on feet, especially worse for a dog. Would benefit from grassed area between pitches. Paid extra for dog however there was no area to allow dogs to run free. Also took gazebo but was unable to pitch the awning due to being on stone area. Very expensive for essentially parking in a car park! £30 PN
Site's response
Hi Sarah, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Whilst we find your title rather disappointing we have great news, in that our pitches are being moved to a lovely area, with grass pitches and stunning views. (You may have noticed the digger on site, well we should have them ready in the coming weeks.) We are delighted that you found our washing up areas and showers spotlessly clean, and that your child enjoyed the beautiful play areas dotted about in nature. We are super dog friendly and do ask dogs to be kept on a lead, there are miles and miles of wonderful walks for your dog to enjoy direct from our site. We do hope to welcome your family again in the future.
