Thorpe Farm Centre is a lovely family-friendly camping and caravan park on the County Durham and North Yorkshire border. Conveniently located on the A66, it's just minutes from Barnard Castle, Richmond and more. On site, you'll find spacious grass pitches for tents and hardstanding pitches with optional electric hook-ups for tourers. Plus, there's a shop, park, and cafe to keep everyone entertained.

Let me start by explaining that the site is right next to the A66. Our tent was maybe 50 yards away from the very main road. The constant road noise made the stay unpleasant, but the site itself is lovely, facilities are top notch and staff were lovely. Unfortunately on top of the constant traffic, there was night work going on with heavy plant machinery and lots of extra noise. This is obviously not the sites fault but I cannot stress enough how close you are to the road. It spoiled our trip and we left a day early as I could not sleep at night times.

Lovely location, road noise was a bit of a problem and trees don't really shield it when pitched on that side of park. Most of the pitches away from the road seem to be seasonal.

Lovely campsite with clean amenities and very friendly staff at the café/gift shop. Great breakfast. Good location for easy access to Barnard Castle and Richmond, but unfortunately our pitch on the site was close to the road and the road noise was a bit too much for us.
Really delightful site

We were situated quite close to a main road so early morning and night times were quite loud. The park is a little bit away from the camping area too so kids can't just go and have a play. I do think it would be better within the big green in the middle of the campground. One thing I didn't realise was that the electric hook up wasn't included in the price, you have to preload a payment card on arrival.
