Thornbrook Barn is easily accessible from the A65 yet enjoys a tranquil rural location, right on the border of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It's a warm and friendly site with all hardstanding electric pitches, some of which are full serviced. For glamping, there are three luxury ensuite glamping cabins each with a hot tub. The famous Waterfalls Trail at Ingleton is just a 15 minute walk away, along with the charming village of Ingleton.

This was our first visit to Thornbrook Barn. The site is very spacious, the facilities are modern and spotlessly clean. We stayed on a fully serviced pitch, which was very spacious with fantastic views over Ingleborough. It is central for visiting Malham, Ingleton, Kirby Lonsdale, Hawes and many more picturesque villages and towns with numerous different walks, including the three peaks. Our battery went flat on us, but Alan let us use his charger, which was a godsend, especially over the Christmas/New Year period. The booking process was so easy and Sandra kept us updated on progress. Everyone on site was very friendly with attentive owners and staff. We cannot wait to visit again and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended.

Exceptionally well designed campsite, with large segregated pitches. We had a serviced pitch near the immaculate toilet block - don't think I've been in cleaner! Good location and very quiet (although at times you can hear the traffic on the A65); short walk to nearest pub and Ingleton is less than a mile. It felt a little odd not to have any human contact, either with the booking or on site, but it all worked very efficiently. Is remote online service the future? Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, despite the atrocious weather. Observations (not criticisms). It would be helpful to have a direction signboard off the A65. Chemical toilet disposal point took some finding (expected it to be located with the toilet block). Wi-Fi and TV reception were very hit and miss - probably due to the very stormy weather. Thought at £40 a night, it was a little expensive, but that said, it was Xmas.
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time to post the review - glad you enjoyed your stay and our lovely location, despite the terrible weather. Some pitches/units do have problems with the TV reception in that area, but we felt it better allocating you a pitch down in the sheltered area and a bit closer to the facility, due to the weather conditions. Sorry you found us a bit expensive - as you say, it was the festive period and the electric usage during this time is very high. Other sites serviced pitches are nearly £50 p/n during this time. Our rates for the main season start at £31 p/n for a standard pitch and £34 p/n for a serviced pitch for 2024 with EHU, facilities and Wi-Fi included and no charge for awnings. We are looking at applying for a council sign off the A65 from Settle direction - there is one from the Kirkby Lonsdale direction. Last time we contacted the council, it was over £600 for one sign! We hope that the detailed email with the directions on and site map helped for your stay. Many thanks, and so wish that the weather had been better for you Richard. Sandra.

The facilities are first class with smooth radio playing as soon as you enter the shower block. Everything was clean and a very good standard. The only downer was that it took a long time for the hot water to come through. The site was spacious and when we stayed quiet.
Site's response
Thank you for the great review - pleased you enjoyed your stop over here. Sorry that the hot water took some time to come through; this was being due to the site being quiet and there were not many guests using the facilities on the night you stayed. Regards, Sandra.

Great site, with good communication from the outset. Pitches are all good sizes and the toilet facilities were always clean. The dedicate dog park is handy. Close to a fantastic pub and farm shop/cafe, and walking distance to the local village.

An excellent site, well maintained with superb facilities. Fantastic location with the village of Ingleton a short walk, where there are places to eat/drink and visit like the falls. If you fancy a bit of mountain climbing there is a route from the village up to the top of Ingleborough 😀 The introductory email before arrival provides all the information needed, very hands off approach with the reassurance of support if required. We loved the check in and out process and the overall experience. Just a great place to stay, wish we could have stayed longer.

Thornbrook Barn is a well kept site. The showers and toilets are immaculate, the pitch we had was a good size and it's nice to have a hedge in between as it makes it feel private.

This is our 2nd visit. Lovely site, a credit to Alan the owner, who was also very helpful when our fridge wasn't working. The Country Harvest, opposite the site, has a lovely café, food, cards etc, which comes in very useful. Also pubs nearby too.

We have just come back from this lovely campsite. Words cannot describe how lovely this site is. First time visit and most definitely not the last. No check in, you receive pitch number through email (we were on pitch 41). Pitches big and amenities block lovely and clean with piped music. Really quiet and peaceful, lovely views and nice walk to the village. Harvest Country Store over the road from the entrance is fab. It has a gift shop, coffee shop and butchers and bread etc and wasn't hard to cross the road. Hopefully be back next year.
Site's response
Thank you - we are delighted to receive this lovely review and so pleased you enjoyed the site and the great location. We look forward to having you stay again next year. Book soon for Pitch 41 as it's often requested by guests! Kindest Regards, Sandra & Alan.
