Second time of staying at Rhualtt. Quiet stay and decent weather. Good base for visiting. There is some road noise but no worse than other places we have visited. Facilities are very clean and well maintained.

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Super PitchesOct 2024

Great location for all North Wales, the site is kept spotless by Jimmy and Simon who met us on arrival and helped us to our pitch. The facilities are great and very clean, there is a bar and restaurant on site which was dog friendly (in the bar area). Food good. Only issues was the noise at night from the A55 which is fairly close and the Wi-Fi was intermittent. Neither are show-stoppers and we are looking to going back again soon.

Site's response

Hi David. Thank you for your review. we are currently looking to find a better solution for the WiFi on the park. We're glad you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to see you again. Jimmy & Simon (Warden Team)

There's no shortage of things to do in North Wales, whether you are a thrill seeker visiting one of the many adventure attractions or planning a historical visit to one of the many castles.

For the adventurous:

  • Zip World offers Europe's longest zip lines, as well as massive underground cavern trampolines and high-rope forest adventures.
  • The National White Water Centre, with the dam controlled Tryweryn River offering a steep and rocky mountain river with fast flowing rapids.
  • Mountain Biking at Llandegla which offers cycling tracks for all abilities.
  • Surf Snowdonia in Dolgarrog, a revolutionary world-first inland surf lagoon roughly the size of six football pitches.

Walking and coastal cycling are also popular. Snowdonia is a haven for walkers, but the Vale of Clwyd, the Clwydian Range, Llyn Peninsula, and the coastal paths of Anglesey are also very popular. There are 34 miles of cycle path along the North Wales coast between Talacre and Penmaenmawr (mostly hard surfaced and nearly continuously off-road).

Other attractions include:

  • Golf courses, from Holyhead to the Vale of Llangollen, the region boasts more than 60 courses.
  • Conwy Castle, one of Britain's oldest and built in the most beautiful of places.
  • The National Slate Museum, in the shadow of Elidir Mountain, in Llanberis.
  • Denbigh Castle, a triple-towered great gatehouse and probably one of the seven wonders of Wales.
  • Bodnant Gardens, spanning some 80 acres and situated above the River Conwy, with breathtaking views towards the Snowdonia range.
  • Bodelwyddan Castle, with extensive grounds and collections from three national museums.
