Lovely, lovely campsite, Fiona and the team are a delight to the site itself. Everything is on hand, facilities are well kept and are clean. My gripe was the noise from the M50 which to be fair, is out of their control, but did make it less peaceful. Also could require more lighting around the campsite.

Had 3 lovely nights with my nephews and dogs. It was the perfect spot to chill and relax, and in a great location to explore the Forest of Dene. Highly recommend.

We stayed for two nights last week at this lovely campsite and would highly recommend it to others. The facilities are excellent. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We stayed at the weekend, so we were able to take advantage of the breakfast butties. There are also pizzas available in the evening if you don't fancy cooking and we saw a sign saying on a Thursday that up the road, fish and chips are available. It is very quiet at night. Great for families. There were children milling about happily and riding bikes enjoying the fresh air. There is an excellent games room with table football. There is unashamedly no Wi-Fi which wasn't a problem for us. We would stay there again if in the area.

Booked a couple of nights, rather last minute. The site turned out to be lovely. Pretty peaceful, with loads of things for kids to do in the open area, playparks and indoor games room. Walks through the forest straight out of the back of the site, the village shop and a lovely coffee shop at the side of the church in Gorsley, only about a 20 minute walk up the road. Will stay again and take our bikes next time!

Beautiful campsite! Family is lovely and friendly, and a great shop to buy the odd item. Bacon sandwiches and pizza offered at the weekends! Pitches are very close together in front and on both sides. I liked the shower rooms however, these and the toilets need to be cleaned more frequently and thoroughly. Area to dispose of toilet waste needs to be updated. In addition hand washing facilities needed next to area. Thank you.
Site's response
Thank you for enjoying our beautiful campsite and taking the time for your review. Following your comments, we have now added a shelf in the waste Elson point area with hand wash. We are consistently cleaning the lovely showers as we like them spick and span as well. In busy times we do ask users that if there is an issue then please report it to reception so we can jump on it and get it sorted...thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you all back.

We stayed at Haywood Farm for a long weekend with a 5 year old. The site itself was peaceful and there was a reasonable amount of space between tents. The staff were helpful and friendly, and there is plenty to do for families in the area.

We booked this site after reading the very positive reviews and were not disappointed. This was a surprise weekend for my grandchildren after both leaving their primary school and it was perfect. Park, games room, pizza and plenty of space for riding their bikes. Hot showers, immaculately clean toilets and the whole site was beautifully maintained. Only half an hour from home and we had a perfect, relaxing weekend. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

This was the first foray into camping for our 3 year old and we were really looking forward to it as a family. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the facilities on offer and just how neat and organised the site looked. The staff were extremely polite and more than happy to help, which was promising. Having been shown our pitch, we were again excited about being able to kick back and relax for the weekend, looking forward to playing in the onsite park and going for local walks. However, that all changed when we gradually became surrounded by a large group of campers who knew each other and had seemingly hired out a sizeable chunk of the site to celebrate a birthday. Ordinarily, we wouldn't have batted an eyelid, but they had decided to congregate as a party directly opposite our tent. The site had a 10:30pm 'quiet' time, but this was ignored and as a result our family endured loud, drunken voices until 2am. The following day, we were shattered, which was a shame because that was going to be our only full day away and we felt so disappointed. Our second night wasn't so bad, although the quiet time still wasn't adhered to and we had to put up with more noise directly outside our tent until about midnight. Overall, Haywood Farm is a fantastic site with superb facilities and plenty to do. We chose it because we work hard and really wanted to chill for the weekend, and the 'quiet time' attracted us to the site. I know there is never any guarantee that this can be strictly adhered to, but perhaps a little more thought and consideration should go into booking large groups of people and, should they be booked, perhaps keep them completely separate from other campers who care little for being up all night drinking and being rowdy. We left the site more shattered than when we arrived! For this, I have to mark down a star, otherwise it would have been full marks. Would we stay again? If we had a guarantee that there were no large groups then yes, we would.
Site's response
We thank you for your review. Unfortunately, we don't always know in advance if people book separately but then congregate as a group. We do our very best to ensure our campsite terms and conditions are followed for the enjoyment of all our guests and encourage our guest to inform us of any issues so we can deal with them in a timely manner. Please accept our apologises for the experience you had on this occasion. We do hope to see you again soon.

Would definitely recommend this site. Was great for our kids who had freedom to roam and we felt very safe. There was a football pitch and a games room for them. Also a small play park. The facilities were in good order and I personally got in for a shower each morning without waiting. The showers that I used looked to be pretty new, clean and overall a great shower. Decent washing facilities for dishes, with hot water. Also cold water taps spread throughout so you didn't have a walk to get drinking water. There was also a well stocked campsite shop and a service to order pizzas, which we did and were great. Overall the weekend was a success and if we were going to be in that area again, would certainly use the site again. Throughout the weekend the park seemed to be fairly busy and absolutely no issues with noise or bad behaviour. Just an ideal site that has everything you could need and done to a good standard.

Beautiful campsite that provided a lovely time, despite the wet weather in March! Staff were very friendly and facilities were kept clean and presentable. We also enjoyed the stone baked pizzas on the second night. The well equipped games room was great for kids, with air hockey, table tennis and table football. The foam mat area was perfect for our toddler and crawler to explore, with play kitchen, ball run and Wendy house. Outdoor play area was also great but a bit too wet for us to enjoy this time of year. Would like to return when the kids are older.

Just got back from a really lovely stay here this weekend. Lots of facilities available on site i.e. games room, park/play area, plenty of toilet/shower facilities and a shop. They make homemade stone baked pizza which you can order between 4 and 7, and it was very delicious! 10 minute drive from the Ross on Wye town, which has plenty of supermarkets, coffee shops, pubs, etc. The service from the owners was brilliant, very welcoming and happy to help out when they can. They leave flyers out for local things to do. They also offered a partial refund because the hot water had stopped working for the showers, we did not accept the refund because it wasn't necessary for us but felt this demonstrated their excellent care and attention to their guests. Will definitely come again.

A lovely site with a good mix of pitches. Located minutes from the forest with a variety of routes. We were fortunate to almost have the site to ourselves for most of the time. Water was warm for showers and washing, which was a much appreciated. It is located by the M50 so anyone who has an aversion to traffic noise could find it a problem but honestly, we hardly noticed it. Would visit again.

Friendly fun camp site. We accidentally brought a broken camp bed for my daughter and the owners gave us one of their air beds! They saved the day!

A lovely, friendly site. Busy but quiet, great for children to run free and make friends. Lovely wooded area for a short walk, children to play in or paths to explore for a longer wander. Would definitely recommend and would return.

Camping in the summer holidays can be a bit of a nightmare with sites over filled and facilities stretched beyond their capacity. But I can't say this of Haywood - very relaxing, chilled out site, wouldn't have guessed it was peak summer. Showers were fantastic, could do with a few more toilets perhaps at the other end of the site, but since it's not a large site, it's not problematic. The site is surrounded by trees with direct access to woodland, very minimal background traffic noise. We have a large 6 man tent and filled the pitch, but the way the site is laid out means you don't feel on top of people too much. Games room was a saviour in the wet!

Lovely site, with really accessible pitches, would choose an electric hook-up next time but the pizzas were great and the showers and toilets were very very good. Staff were very helpful will definitely return, only hope the weather is kinder next time, however, even with winds and rain of biblical proportions the site remained usable and welcoming. The games room is excellent and the shop has everything needed by absent-minded visitors Thanks for a lovely experience.

My grandson loved it. The weather wasn't perfect, but the indoor games room was great; playing pool, table tennis and table football. The pizzas made on-site were fantastic - everybody loves a break from cooking. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. There is so much to do in the locality: canoeing, walking, butterfly house and so many good pubs. Great stay!

So glad I came across Haywood Farm for our first Caravanning experience. This was the first time I had ever towed and the owners couldn't have been more helpful! I struggled with reversing into the pitch and then unhooking and on both occasions the owners came to help. I was on my own with a 4 year old so this was really appreciated! The facilities were great, clean and spacious toilets & showers and a washing up area. A great games room and play area for children, oh and delicious Pizzas Thursdays to Saturdays, it was really handy too having a little shop on site to grab a quick drink and ice cream. I can't recommend this place enough, we will be back! Thank you again 😊
