Peaceful and secluded, Tobacconist Farm is an adult-only site located on the edge of a very historic Market Town called Minchinhampton in Gloucestershire. It is the ideal site to pitch up in the countryside and still have access to all amenities. Dogs are welcome here and in all pubs, with over 400 acres of stunning AONB and many wonderful walks from Michinhampton.

Large Tent - Paddock Optional Electric Grass PitchesJul 2024

I've travelled all over the world, but without doubt, Tobacconist Farm has to be the most relaxing and scenic location. . The owners Will and his assistant Lucy 🙂, were both professional, caring and courteous. I strongly recommend a visit here.

We missed the notices upon arrival asking us to call. This was due to avoiding other cars going in and out of the site, so our error. However, the site owner attitude to us for doing this was confrontational. Didn't set us off to a good start. Nice site, but a housing estate just across the field and not the rural views we thought we would be getting.

Site's response

Please let me be clear, I have a banner on the gate, four signs and sent you a text in the morning. You ignored all! Drove 300m onto my campsite and pitched where you wanted. I'd been waiting for you all afternoon and I'm glad you found me abrupt because I found you rude.

Great little campsite in the heart of the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, perfectly situated close to all the amenities in Minchinhampton. The campsite was quiet in the evenings and some of the grass bays are naturally 'fenced' with banks of wildflowers. The facilities for washing and showering are wonderfully spacious. Well placed for walks without the car, I recommend the circular walk from the site to Rodborough Hill Fort, don't forget to take in Winstone's Ice Cream Parlour on the way. Local pubs in Minchinhampton serve great food and beer. Can recommend Henry's Cafe for Coffee and breakfast. Don't think there is any Wi-Fi on site but the 4G service is pretty good. Will definitely come again.

Excellent position for good walks from site over amazing commons. Good pub with meals (perhaps slightly expensive) with good shop and cafe in village only ten minutes walk from site. Couldn't fault the on site facilities, in fact, up with the very best.

The site is just so lovely, pitches are a decent size and private. Lucy and her son Will were great hosts. Toilets and showers are immaculate and enough room to actually dry off and get changed. Walking distance to the village. The pub, chippy and Henrys cafe were fab too. If I was to design a site this would be it!

A fantastic site, very welcoming. An easy walk into town or lovely country walk to Ragged Cot or the common. Our dogs loved it and we were all made to feel at home. The fire pits provided were a lovely touch, very clean toilet blocks and good facilities. Many thanks for a wonderful weekend Lucy!

I would highly recommend this site to anyone of my friends and family. The toilet/shower block was very clean for the whole stay which was refreshing for a campsite. The location was amazing for walking and biking.

Medium Tent - Large Grass PitchesJul 2024

We had a great stay in this lovely quiet site in a great location for a couple of nights. The facilities were great, very clean with individual showers and lots of hot water. Great kitchen with a fridge-freezer and a washing machine. We were met on site by Lucy, who was so friendly and helpful and gave us information on local walks. We had a decent sized pitch on flat ground and were able to borrow a fire pit and buy logs on site. There is a nice wooded area for dogs too which ours loved! It's a small, adult only site with large pitches so we weren't all crammed in which was great. It was very peaceful. The donkeys in the next field were so cute too! It was an easy walk into the beautiful village with a lovely pub and useful shop (although the butchers was closed!) The surrounding area has so many amazing walks with epic views and isn't full of tourists and so is unspoilt. We would definitely recommend this site and hope to come back next year. Thanks Lucy!

A fantastic campsite, in an excellent location with excellent facilities. The owner Lucy was amazing, she went above and beyond to help us when we forgot the keys to our roof box, which held some of essential camping equipment. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Hope to return next year.

Great! Good pitch. Managed to get a picnic table as we were the first in the lower field. Drinking water tap was next to us too. Never had to queue for the loo or a shower. Only small request would be for a mirror next to one of the electric sockets in the kitchen, just so I could dry my hair and see what I was doing!

Lovely location. Plenty of space between units and as group had little field to ourselves, so plenty of room for games. Ample, clean facilities. 2 donkeys for spare carrots and apples. Gentle walk to village with tea rooms, pub and shops, where you can buy said carrots/apples if forget to take any!

A lovely, peaceful, adult only campsite. The campsite wasn't overcrowded and was very well maintained. Toilets and shower block was very clean and had plenty of hot water. The kitchen was very welcome, with a large fridge freezer, washing machine and sinks for washing up. Lucy, the owner and her son were very welcoming and very informative. Within walking distance to a lovely village and pub with a beer garden.

Chilled space with great local village pub and cafe. Bus into Stroud less than 30 mins, which is great, market town with independent shops. Entrance is well signposted and prevent off space. Owners are accommodating and field spacious, with some good use of foliage to split up the areas. Good local walks in this lovely part of the world.

What an amazing find. Lucy, our host was informative and friendly, showing us to our allocated pitch and making suggestions about places to go. The site had few rules which made for a relaxed atmosphere which everyone respected. The surroundings of the Cotswolds we knew anyway but managed to visit new places, Selsley Common and Castle Combe were stand outs.

Fantastic!

Medium Tent - Paddock Grass PitchesJul 2024

A really lovely and quiet site in a great setting in walking distance to a quaint old market village (grocers and other small shops, cafes, pubs and church) and close to extensive area of commons grassland. There is a paddock at the far end for non-electric that's full of wild flowers and surrounded by fields, including a field with two friendly donkeys - most of my stay I had the whole paddock almost to myself. It has an attractive dog walk through the trees too. The area that's more for units needing electricity has loads of room between pitches, which are separated from each other by raised 'wild' areas of tall grass which give a feeling of seclusion and a large grassy area in the middle kept free from units. The facilities are the best I've seen for many a year - individual shower rooms, most with toilet in them and extra separate toilets, all spotlessly clean. There's free use of a fridge freezer and fire pits are available to use too. They also have a washing machine - not to mention washing up facilities. I had booked for three nights and ended up staying for five. Will certainly camp here again if I come back to the area.

Motorhome - Large Grass PitchesJul 2024

Lovely quiet campsite that was walking distance of the picturesque village, pub and local shops. Also, a bit further walk brings you out onto the common so you don't need to use your car. The facilities were extremely clean. Lucy, the owner, was amazing! She was so efficient and friendly and would do anything to help. Our daughter had a cough and she was there with a bottle of cough mixture. She was full of knowledge of the local area which helped when deciding where to go. There were fire pits that we could use. Definitely would go back.

2 tips: Firstly, dishwashing bins are deep and good, but you cannot close them. Secondly, toilets didn't always flush. Everything else was excellent! Translated from Dutch.

Large Tent - Large Grass PitchesJul 2024

Very pleasant campsite situated a very short walk from the centre of Minchinhampton, and with walks from the site. Good-sized pitches which (on the side of the campsite where we were situated) were separated from adjacent pitches by low grassy mounds which were a nice feature. Lucy, the owner, was very informative. The toilet block and kitchen area were very clean. The only minor downside to our stay was that the showers have no means to adjust the water temperature, meaning that they were too warm for my personal preference, particularly when the weather was warmer. Apart from that, our stay was very pleasant and I would have no hesitation in recommending the site.

Single Axle Caravan - Large Grass PitchesJul 2024

This is a great little adult only campsite. The shower & toilet block was immaculately clean and there was always availability. The kitchen is a handy space for drying wet walking boots too! The pitches are a good size and there's plenty of space between them. Throw in electric hook up and water and I'd say it was spot on. The weather was quite wet, so people stayed in their tents/vans but it was very quiet too. Perfect!
