Fantastic stay this weekend. This campsite is small but perfectly formed. We nabbed one of the few big tent pitches looking out to Mam Tor. Other smaller tents were pitched next to the stream close by. Facilities simple but all in good working order. The manager Charlie was lovely and really helpful. Easy walk to two decent pubs, village shop next to the other campsite near the Nags Head pub. Great walk over Mam Tor to Castleton and back, as well as the start of the Pennine Way and up the scramble to Kinder. We’ll be back!

Stayed here for 2 nights with a mate. Was so nice and peaceful if you pay for parking you can let your self in and out whilst keeping the gate shut at all times. The view's were breath-taking. Loads of popular attractions nearby. Showers are hot which was a bonus. Will definitely stay again sometime in the future.

A fantastic campsite and the team even lent me a gas bottle, without this we'd have been eating a cold dinner!

I mistakenly booked for the 5th March and actually arrived on the 4th, but they were kind enough to let me stay that night instead. My first time in the Peak District and the lady (sorry I didn't get her name) was happy to give me lots of really helpful advice on where to go and what the conditions might be like. The campsite itself was nice, simple and well equipped, all that I needed and just a couple of minutes' walk from Edale station.
A great base camp

Lovely place to stay, the facilities were excellent. Toilet and shower block were very clean. I was shown around the site on arrival and told we could pitch our tent wherever we wanted. Very close to lots of lovely walks around Edale and close to two pubs which serve great food. Highly recommended and would definitely stay again!
Beautiful location, although most facilities require payment

This is a beautiful campsite with friendly staff. Keep in mind that most facilities need to be paid for - including 20p for 2 minutes of shower, 50p for hairdryers and 50p to use the electric to charge your phone. Slightly disappointing given how expensive it is to stay here. Use of the fridge was free, however. The bathrooms are closed for an hour and a half every day between 10.30am and 12pm, which isn't ideal. You can't park near your tent but there were wheelbarrows available for multiple trips between your car and pitch to transport your gear. Overall, a pleasant stay.

The staff and campsite were absolutely lovely for our weekend away. We checked in at 8pm and were shown around and were allowed to pick our spot from what was available. We stayed by the stream and had a great time! Would absolutely recommend, the location is ideally situated between two of the best hikes in the Peaks - Mam Tor and Kinder Scout. I recommend visiting the penny pot cafe, next to the train station, as it has free Wi-Fi and free maps for the best routes nearby.

Very nice place to stay, peaceful and relaxing surroundings with friendly staff. The only reason I've given value for money 3 stars is because I arrived a little early and wanted to leave my bags so I could go for a walk around until booking in time. They asked if I wanted to pay the early booking in fee which I did, but it was £10 and I thought that was a bit high. But all in all, I will say that I would recommend the place and I will be using it again but just making sure not to arrive early.

We really enjoyed the stay, thank you for the service. It was more than what we expected because it was our first time camping in the UK. It would be appreciated if you could add more information about the stay. We came here without camping accessories, thought that all would be provided there. If you could add about required items to bring to the campsite that will be more useful for the people who are experiencing camping in the UK for the first time.
Site's response
Thank you for your review, Chinnu, we really do appreciate it. For future reference, most of our camping pitches require you to bring all your own camping kit. We have two options where this is provided; A Bell Tent which has beds, bedding, cooking facilities etc for more of a luxurious camping experience and a Rent a Tent which is a backpacking tent that we hire out and you can hire sleeping bags and hiking roll mats if needed. More information is available online, but if these two options are not available to book, then they are already fully booked so we only have normal camping pitches where you bring your own tent. Really glad you all enjoyed your stay with us here and hope to see you again soon. Cassy and Charlie

Absolute gem of a site! Well laid out, staff very polite, friendly & helpful. All facilities were very clean! Probably the best campsite I've stayed at in the Peak District! Pitch prices very cheap too!

Really lovely campsite. Staff are super welcoming and friendly, helping when needed. Small fridge/freezer on site which is useful if taking chilled food. Very pretty campground with a river close by. Two lovely dogs - Pip and Fluke.

A nice location for walking in the Peaks. The toilet block was kept clean but cubicles were tight and it was a nuisance having to put 20ps into the metres for the showers. I thought they were a thing of the past! The 10.30 am departure time also seems a bit stingy. We wanted to walk our daughter down to the train station for her 11.48 train, but were told the car could only be left in the car park till 10.45. I liked cars not being allowed by the tents but was surprised that only three wheelbarrows were provided to help with equipment for the whole site.
Site's response
Thank you for your review, Clare. I'm glad you like the location of the site, but yes we are just a back to basics campsite. A new addition to the site is that we do provide wheelbarrows to help you move your kit from your car, I'm glad you found them useful as this was not available in the past. I'm sorry you found the check out time too early for your needs, this is emailed to you with your booking details along with other useful information like the showers being coin operated. We do suggest parking at the main car park in Edale if you wish to stay in the area longer that 10.30am, but some other campsites have a later departure of 11am if that is more useful for you for the future. Thank you for your feedback, we really do appreciate it.

Lovely location in Edale within the Peak District. Great walks on the doorstep, a couple of country pubs and local store. Very clean toilet/shower block and pot washing facilities with plenty of hot water. A perfect site.

Very nice, friendly campsite, would 100% recommend. My only slight criticism would be the showers, they are very clean, but the shower will start as soon as you put the coins in and the meter isn't in the shower itself, but in the toilet block. It takes the first 20p (2 mins) to heat up, so I'd be sure to put in at least 2 x 20p if you want a hot shower.
Site's response
Thank you so much for your review, John. We really do appreciate it. Great advice and feedback about the showers too. Thank you.
