Family and dog friendly camping and touring site, Pomeroy Caravan Park is in the ideal place for those who love to hike or cycle. There are non electric and electric grass pitches for tents, as well as fully serviced grass and hardstanding pitches for tourers. A peaceful stay in the Peak District on a working dairy farm with cows and goats, the site even produces its own artisan ice cream with a range of flavours for the whole family.

A lovely location with good facilities. The campsite is a farm producing its own milk and ice cream which is super.

A lovely, relaxed campsite. It has all the facilities you need, without the unnecessary extras. The bathrooms are warm, clean, new, and well maintained. Animals and ice-cream are a nice perk. Open non electric field, so you can choose where you like. It is on a slight hill, but really not that bad. Great for groups, and individuals. Maybe we were lucky, but whilst there were not strict rules, everyone was very respectful. I would say it is a tad on the pricier side.

Nice site. Warm welcome. Great choice of ice creams made on the farm. Short drive to Buxton and other sites like Haddon Hall and Arbor Low. For couples with children there is an area where they can feed goats and other animals. Happy to book again in the future.
Nice site, great for walkers and families

We had a long weekend staying at this site. The facilities were good, a shop with limited - if pricey - goods, hot showers, pan wash area, hard and grass standings and an on-site ice cream factory, as well as being a working dairy farm. Great location for walkers with one of the area's main paths passing behind the site. There are some lovely pubs within a short distance but be warned, they're closed Monday and Tuesday. Buxton is only 15 minutes drive away, which is worth a look. One point to mention, there is a low town and high town. The only negatives were that the Wi-Fi was very hit and miss even to the point where it goes off. The showers didn't seem to get a proper clean daily and on a grass camping site, that's a must.
Site's response
Hi, thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. It is always nice to hear when people have enjoyed their stay! There are a number of pubs within walking distance, and as you say, some of them do close on a Monday and Tuesday. There are many that are open though, so if you ask staff at reception, we can let you know which ones are open. Our facilities are thoroughly cleaned, daily. They are partially closed between 11 and 1pm, so if you were out for the day then you might not have noticed. Hopefully we will see you again soon. Thanks.

The site is excellent, from the cleanliness of the showers and toilets, to the excellent pitches, and little shop. Even loved the petting zoo. What we did struggle with was the other 'customers'. It does ask for campers to be respectful with noise after 10.30pm, but this is in no way enforced. There were a few drunk 'party people' and plenty of foul language going on until around 1am. Just a lot of disrespect towards all others, including the young children on site. One other small point, the site is under the Manchester Airport flight path so at least the language was drowned out every now and then. Mid week may be better?
Lovely friendly site :)

Lovely site in a great location ๐๏ธ The kids loved the on site animals and games field and played rounders for hours with the other children staying on the site. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough to help you, beautiful ice-creams made on site and the self-service milk/milkshake machine was an added bonus ๐ฎ Dog friendly with a great 'dog field' big enough to throw a ball quite far ๐พ. The site is a stones throw from lovely walks and pub stops. We'll definitely be staying here again, we loved it ๐ฅฐ

Lovey 2 night stay at the campsite/ caravan park. We went with 3 families with kids and a dog. Campsite was clean, toilets were amazing and there was a bath. The shop sold lovely ice cream, which the kids loved, and there was an animal petting area where you could buy some feed for a quid. The only thing I would say is that the site was missing was a kids park. There's a playing field where you can play football, rounders etc but a park would top it off.

One of the best campsites I've been to. Small but well served with both hard and green pitches, with water and electric point. The sanitary block is very good and so in the "pot cleaning" block. You can buy the most amazing fresh milk and ice cream. The lady welcoming you is very friendly and helpful. To top it up, it is right next to the High Peak Trail.
A good quality, friendly site

An excellent site between the towns of Buxton and Bakewell. It is located just off a busy road, with frequent large lorries from the quarries passing by. However the drive in is sufficiently long to not effect the site itself. Some aircraft sound from planes approaching airport. The shower block is superb. Some of the best we have come across. Modern with very warm underfloor heating. Lots of space in the shower and toilet cubicles. Plenty of hot water, although the push button needed to last longer than 5 seconds. Well kept throughout, including the dog exercise field. Well kept enclosures with small farm animals. Popular with families. Very friendly and helpful staff. Reception and shop with excellent homemade ice cream open until 6.30pm each day. Easy access onto the High Peak Trail.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting the Peak District and its surrounding areas are beautiful. The location is very close to the town of Buxton and the Peaks. The site is basic yet has everything you need, the shower block was super warm and amazingly clean!

Stayed on an electric pitch in the tent field. Beautiful views and right by the trail. We will definitely return especially as the site is 30 minutes from home.

Loved it here. Extremely relaxing. friendly staff. Great ice cream. Good facilities. beautiful countryside. we were on our own but the children on site were having a whale of a time and were extremely well behaved, a pleasure to hear them laughing and playing. The animal petti g area and fresh milk were a bonus and the oral pub was great, especially the food.

This was our first time at this campsite and itโs absolutely stunning, we will definitely be returning and recommending it. The staff are all very friendly and all the facilities are spotless. The fresh milk from the vending machine and the ice creams are an absolute must and the farm animals are very cute

This is a great campsite, one of the best I've stayed at! The toilet block is fantastic and always clean. The washing block has hot water all the time. The ice cream made on the farm is great, with friendly staff and a shop that is not overpriced. It is close to Buxton, a great little museum at the old lead mine and across the road from a pub. Lots of walks straight off the campsite. Even got goats to pet! Loved it!

A wonderful stay - with the petting farm and giant rabbits a fabulous extra! My only regret is that we didn't leave time to sample the ice cream - going to have to come back again.
