Our fourth time at this site and we'll be back again. We went for the family weekend and the kids had a great time and in the evening the band was the perfect entertainment to end a great day.

Great site. Lovely and clean. The staff are all very helpful. Great showers that are free. Nice and hot too. Really nice to see the peacocks roaming free around the campsite. Will definitely be back.

This is the second time in 4 years we've stayed as a group of families at Barn Farm and have had such a great weekend once again. The site is perfect for families with plenty of space for the kids to run around, play area etc. The facilities are great and kept really clean, with the added bonus of hairdryers and plug sockets in the shower blocks. We stayed w/c of the 22nd which coincided with the family fun weekend comprising of live music, horse & groom bar and activities/rides for the kids, we would certainly plan our next visit around this type of event in future as it ticked all the boxes for adults & kids in our party. We also loved the added bonuses of the butty box, coffee van and pizza van on-site over the weekend. The local area is lovely and also benefits from 2 great pubs in walking distance, we ate at the Druid Inn and the food/service was great, as was the service at the Red Lion for drinks. Cannot rate Barn Farm highly enough!

Super friendly and clean site. The toilets and showers are forever getting cleaned and the bins around the fields are always getting emptied! We stayed for a 9th birthday celebration and the fair and balloons setting off were just fab. Will return again as always, the scenery is beautiful.
Well kept site, highly recommended

Had a lovely stay. Facilities were all excellent and very clean and well organised. Only downside to our stay was noisy families! Maybe have a separate adults only field? Loved Druids Inn.

We loved our stay at Barn Farm. However, we wish we could have stayed longer. It's a lovely setting which made for a happy and chilled out stay. We stayed with several other families and friends, which we all enjoyed.

We came camping as a large family. We have children as young as 1 and as old as 12. I have never been to a camp site so clean; the toilets, washing up facilities and showers had been cleaned down before I'd used them. I don't know how often they clean them but they must do it multiple times throughout the day. The peacocks were very friendly and our boys loved them, even if they shout at 4:30 in the morning 🤪. Such a family friendly campsite. We don't want to go anywhere else now.

We enjoyed a lovely 3 night stay on the touring pitch. Glorious views. The campsite is very clean and well kept. Lots of activities for older children and the alpacas are very cute. We visited Dovedale Stones and Carsington Water. Some wheelchair paths at both sites. Also, the food at the Druid Inn is good. Only downside was that the peacocks were noisy during the night!

Absolutely stunning location with loads to keep the kids entertained on site and at local attractions. The play equipment was brilliant and the peacocks kept my kids amused. Only down side was myself and my 3 children staying during the Leicestershire half term, which doesn't coincide with Derbyshire, which meant lots of teenagers doing their D of E. The majority were ok but you won't be able to use the main showers or toilets when they're there. The larger groups can also be quite intimidating for younger children and the music did carry over from the field to the family camping area. It did go off after 10pm but made it difficult for the younger ones to sleep initially. The staff cleaned up really well and the campsite in general is very clean but first thing in the morning, the toilets didn't smell pleasant. So again, not ideal for younger children outside Derbyshire school times. Definitely recommend but you need to think about timings of when to use the facilities.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Toilets were spotless Maybe the shop could carry a few more groceries. Besides that, a really good site.

Lovely stay, beautiful location and excellent facilities. The friendly peacocks were possibly the only negative - were a little bit noisy in the night and again at sunrise.. otherwise would definitely recommend.

Lovely location, great views, good facilities and helpful staff. Loved the alpacas and peacocks although peacocks were a bit noisy at night. Earplugs may help light sleepers. The toilets were clean but a bit of a walk away if you need them at night.

Our first camping trip since lockdown. Barn Farm Campsite is beautiful, all staff are very friendly (even opened shop up out of hours for us), and facilities are brilliant and clean. The wandering peacocks are glorious to watch. Everybody stops to take photos of them during the day - but they were less popular when they started making noise at 04:11am...but you know what, we will be back :-) but hopefully in the larger field with not much of a hill. We moved to the bottom of the hill when there was space.

Fab location and site. Toilets and showers are quite clean but can get a bit messy when the site is busy. Overall a great site.

We visited for the first time over the weekend, Friday to Sunday. This place is brilliant for all the family! Showers and toilets were nice and clean. There is a nice little games room suitable for both adults and children, which had a pool table for only 50p a game and lots of outdoor games too, including table tennis and a trampoline for the children. There is an on-site shop which reception were more than happy to open for us even after it was supposed to be closed. There was also a park for the children and lots of space for them to play football etc. The area itself was lovely, with peacocks and llamas to look at. Not far at all from Matlock centre and also a short drive to Bakewell. We were very impressed and will definitely be returning!!
