This is our 3rd visit to Little Acre's and we love it here. We decided to stay an extra night this time. The site is well kept and the shower and toilets are lovely and clean. Paul is very welcoming and friendly. Fab location with a pub just across the road. Would highly recommend visiting this site, you won't be disappointed.

What an amazing place. Campsite is lovely, clean, great facilities. It's in a great location for canal walks and there are pubs within easy access. Staff on site are fantastic. Our 2nd visit and already booked a 3rd. Almost don't want to tell our friends so it's "ours" 😊
Site's response
Thank you Chris. It's really nice for us to have so many returning customers. See you again soon. Paul.

Very surprised at the level of facilities offered - great value for money. A little building work going on to owners own home. Generally a great site, well-located, good-sized pitches - though some far from level.
Site's response
Hello Ian. It was lovely to host you recently and I'm glad that your stay worked well for you. We're shortly completing the complete renovation of the original gents shower and loo block and then when the season is over, we're moving on to the original ladies shower and loo block and then we'll have totally modernised and upgraded all of the onsite facilities (and our house will be complete as well!). Hopefully we'll be able to host you again in the future. Paul.

We've stayed here before as its really convenient for us but it's also a really well kept, tidy site. The facilities are some the nicest we've used but you must remember your 20p's for the showers! Its location is great as there is a pub 5 mins walk away and it's easy to get to Milnthorpe and Kendal. Staff are really helpful too.
Site's response
Hi Victoria, thank you for being a happy, returning customer at Little Acre! Paul P.S. If you are ever short of 20p's, I always have a stash that I can change for you!

We booked little acre site for a stopover near the M6 to break our journey south but were pleasantly surprised at the high standards of the park and especially the immaculate modern shower/toilet block/ facilities etc. It is well placed for exploring the surrounding area and the Lake District. At night there is constant but distant road noise but we did not find this disrupted our sleep. We have returned again since our first stopover and again were happy with our stay. We found the owners helpful and friendly too. The park is dog friendly and there is a lovely walk along the water side. The Crooklands hotel is a short walk away, has a welcoming bar (dog friendly) and restaurant and an excellent menu with something to suit all appetites!
Site's response
Hi Jane Thank you for your (near) back to back visits. With Junct 36 of the M6 being a mile away, we are really well sited for breaking a long journey, or for having a longer break and exploring the Lake District or Yorkshire Dales. Enjoy your touring. Paul

Just stayed 4 nights on way back from Wales to Scotland. Nice little site just off motorway so really easy to get to with a caravan. Follow instructions from owner rather than sat nav! Small site, big pitches but they're not flat! 1 set brand new toilets and 1 little older block for ladies, all very clean. Didn't feel there was quite enough if site busy. Pub over the road does good food, huge portions, but make sure to book. Good location to explore from and friendly, helpful owner. Will return if in the area.
Site's response
Hi Fiona, Thank you for your recent 4 day stay at Little Acre and I'm glad that it worked out well for you. We're currently going through the process of totally modernising the gents facilities in the original block and once completed, we'll be moving onto the ladies facilities - and at that stage, we'll be back to 100% again! We'd love to have you return again to check out the improvements. Paul & Sarah

An excellent stay, Paul was great and really helpful, lovely facility block, spotless, warm and obviously highly-maintained. Will certainly be staying again, cannot really fault it. Took bus to Kendal from right outside £2.00 bargain! Pub across the road was great and really friendly. Hook up had loads of power, WiFi was spot on and water points everywhere. Loved it. 👍

Cheers Ian. It's always nice to read when someone has had such an enjoyable stay with us. Paul.

Love this campsite, very relaxed and not too far to travel for weekend breaks. Right on a redundant stretch of the Lancaster canal, facilities are very nice, new shower toilet block added since our last visit. Crooklands pub opposite is very nice, will be back very soon - thank you.
Site's response

Good size hardstanding pitches, 2 toilet blocks, one brand new with excellent unisex facilities, the older block was clean and tidy. The ladies' had everything you needed, from shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, to cotton wool balls and a hair dryer. The men's was in process of renovation and hopefully will be open in next couple of weeks. Little Acre is a site I would definitely recommend, ideal for visiting the lakes and surrounding areas. Excellent pub over the road. On arrival we was welcomed by a friendly lad, Tom, the owners son. Paul, the owner, was friendly and chatty too. The site is a credit to them, one of the best we have stayed on in 20 years of caravanning. We will certainly return one day.
Site's response
Hello Kevin. Thank you for your kind words - they're very much appreciated. The complete refurb of the original loo and shower block continues at pace and we're hoping that it'll be completed sooner, rather than later. Then once done, the next step is giving the ladies a complete refurbishment as well - and then we're done! It'll be lovely to host you again and you'll be able to see the improvements, Paul.

Nice, but have to pay for showers

We stopped at the site after paying for the night with electric hook up, but we find out you need to pay for the showers at 20 pence for 3 minutes. I feel this should be included in the price like every other campsite we have stopped at this week. Also, this is not on the information when booking, so I would have chosen elsewhere or got lots of 20ps. It takes me at least 20 mins for a shower so this would of cost an extra £4.00 and my husband 60p.
Site's response
Hello Paula, thank you for staying with us. It is unfortunate that failed to read the section of our listing on Campsites.co.uk entitled "facilities and amenities" as you would have seen "Facilities include two heated shower and loo blocks (the showers take 20p's). It's the first sentence and it's very prominent. Similarly, I sent you a confirmation email, which includes "all of the showers have complimentary shower gel, shampoo and conditioner and both of the blocks have hairdryers. The showers at Little Acre cost 20p for 3 mins and the laundry requires £1 coins", part of which is in bold font. So it's been written down for you twice. The information was there for you before booking and repeated to you after booking. I'm not aware of what other sites offer/don't offer, but we do include complimentary luxury shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryers and underfloor heating in our separate, lockable shower wet rooms. Another unrelated positive benefit for every other visitor on the site, is that we don't have people monopolising the shower facilities for (say) 20 mins at a time, which can be incredibly frustrating for everyone else. Enjoy your touring and I hope that you are able to find other sites that fit your criteria. Paul.

Great site, lots of walks around, and right opposite fantastic pub. You can see owners invested in the business, lots of work going on. Looks like new toilet facilities and presume updating the others, but no hassle, the "building" site was clean and well organized. The pitches themselves were excellent with water and electric to hand on hardstanding with well manicured lawns right next to them. Open field for tents looked great as well, a real mix of vans, caravans, tents. It's a small site but not overcrowded, toilets and showers were very swish, yes, you have to pay 20p but worth it.
Site's response
Hello Callum, it was lovely to host you recently and I'm glad that you enjoyed your time with us. We can't wait for the renovations of the "original" toilet block to be completed, then we'll have 2 bang up to date, high quality facility blocks for people to use. We're really fortunate to have a good mix of campervans, motorhomes and caravans on the Holiday Park site as well as tents, rooftents, trailer tents and folding campers on the Camping site (as you saw, I don't overfill my tent field and folk have space to use and enjoy) - between them, it all seems to work well! Enjoy your travels. Paul.

We stayed here for 8 nights. The owner Paul was a superb host, he gave us the basic information about the site and surrounding areas to visit but was always on site if needed. There was some building work going on whilst we were there mainly to upgrade an old toilet block so the shower facilities were limited to 2 showers for the whole site but this didn't create a problem for us. My only negative was when the grass was cut the gardener didn't collect the clippings so they ended up in our caravan and on the floors of the toilets, also he was cutting very close to the pitches which was a concern as we had already had a stone through the side of our previous caravan. All in all we had a great stay despite the weather being mixed we managed to visit the lakes and surrounding towns etc
Site's response
Thank you for staying with us and recommending Little Acre on Campsites.co.uk, Julian. We cut the grass every week and the ride-on mower mulches the cutting to absolutely minimise the amount of messy grass that is left on the floor. This works very well when the grass is dry, but not just as well when the grass is wet. Leaving the grass uncut isn't an option as within a fortnight or so, the site would start to look very unkempt. It wasn't a problem leaving the area around your caravan uncut (it gave me a chance to play on the ride-on mower today), as I knew you had previously had a bad experience elsewhere. Enjoy your touring, Paul P.S. currently there is only 1 shower that is not in use, all others are working as normal.
