I'm a full time Van lifer and use the full range of facilities available to me across the United Kingdom. I was unaware of this site, but as I was in the area I decided to give it a go. I've written down the location, only as it could be a challenge getting in with bad weather. I have experience in driving in all conditions, but folks might initially be a bit wary of the hill. That said, this is a real gem of a campsite. With amazing facilities and the best of twists on your normal sterile environments. An AMAZING house and amazing welcome from the owners. The house itself is connected to John Muir and sits on both the John Muir Way and the West Highland Way. What a superb stop over. The house is great but the choice of pitches is also great. Lots of places for both tents and Motorhome's and caravans. The communal areas are both inviting and communal. Indeed this is the hidden gem. The ability to mix with others and spend time (if you wish) to engage with fellow travellers. As a single traveller, this was a really nice touch and indeed is key to the charm of this site. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for me it left a superb feeling knowing that not all sites need to be the same. I loved the social aspect of the site and can't commend the owners enough for their vision to be different whilst also providing a "social" model found in the US and in more "lifestyle" centred campsites. Suffice to say, I'm a fan, and will look forward to returning and very much hope this site goes from strength to strength. Gavin

Really lovely campsite with great amenities, staff are really kind and helpful. The whole back story of the campsite is really inspiring for what they are doing for homeless and local residents. Great location and stop for dogs with endless walks locally. 10/10 would highly recommend.

We loved our 2 night stay and would not hesitate to re visit when next in the area . All facilities were clean and tidy, we even went for an evening meal in the main house which was first class . There was free tea and coffee, along with juices available and also the option of a free breakfast if you wanted it, we had our own in the van and didn't think it was fair to take advantage of this facility. Overall, it was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site to others. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

We have only good things to say about the West Highland way campsite. We have stayed at many campsites in Scotland but no where compares. The location is beautiful with views from every point and at the beginning of the West Highland Way only just 20 or so minutes from Glasgow. The breakfast is amazing and 24 hour tea and coffee was a really good surprise. Great facilities. We had a lovely welcoming and the host really cares. Thankyou Andrew and Robyn for being so welcoming. Will stay again!

We stayed here on the 2nd of December and had such a great time, The owners and staff were super friendly and helpful. It was great to see them always ready to help and always with a smile. The place itself is very clean and gorgeous. Like you're in the home you always wanted. Set in fantastic gardens with good west highland way walks right at the end of the drive. We would highly recommend this as it's a good example of what Scotland is about and a perfect base to explore it from.

Gorgeous site! Access to toilets, showers, Wi-Fi, power spots, laundry, and even a free continental breakfast! The owner and staff have been incredibly kind and accommodating every time my partner and I visit. We will continue to pass through and stay at this space, an absolute dream and incredibly helpful.

Our first thoughts were how beautiful the surroundings and location were. Then we met the staff and they were so friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the food was delicious. Not a bad word to say about the place! Thank you for making our stay a memorable one!

Having mis-calculated my progress to my intended stop over, I booked and arrived within the hour to this campsite. I was delighted at the friendly and informative welcome even though it was quite late. The staff were very helpful and the food delicious. Sitting in the very Scottish lounge by a roaring fire and chatting away with staff and campers was a perfect end to the day's hiking. This is one campsite not to be missed and the views are extraordinary. Can't wait to re-visit. Highly recommended and definitely not expensive.

Had a great night sitting with in the lounge listening to stories from other customers in front of a roaring fire, loved it! A hot roll at a small cost was the perfect way to start the day too, can't fault it. The staff bend over backwards to help. As I mentioned, 2 things make this stay worthwhile, the location and staff. The location is second to none with the views being stunning. The staff go well out of their way to help, especially when an idiot forgets to pack the essentials such as lights and firewood, both of which were supplied by the staff from their own accommodation. The chef for dinner was great, getting my steak absolutely perfect and my wife said the Mac 'n' Cheese was great too! Plenty of walks to take too, although I didn't do any this time, I definitely will upon my next visit. Only downside to it is a pack of a small shop with essentials, but the local village is just a few minutes away.

I have stayed here a couple of times now and absolutely love it. Great facilities and an amazing clubhouse that is open 24/7. The staff are absolutely so helpful and always on hand to help. Sorry not to have reviewed this place before. See you all again very soon.

Beautiful setting and if owner put effort in, then it would be an amazing place to stay. Sadly, it feels that there hasn't been much effort put in to making it a great camp. It was like we had camped in a car park. Muddy uneven pitches. Very noisy at night with people and cars. It seems that no one oversees the running of the site. No procedures in place to ensure everyone has a great experience. There is a chocolate lab allowed to run off lead even though it tried to bite my small nervous rescue dog. I had to ask for the dog to be kept on lead but this was not done. The whole experience was very disappointing and we will definitely not be back!
Friendly welcome and the breakfast was a surprising extra

The site was very simple to book through Campsites.co.uk. We were greeted on arrival, indicated where to pitch and shown around the facilities. There were comfortable sitting areas, a dining and breakfasting space. The pitch itself had a great outlook over the valley, the picnic table and good lighting made the pitch even more attractive. There were cooked meals offered in the evening, free tea and coffee at all times, and a basic breakfast included. There appear to be many long term guests but there was still plenty of space for tourers and everyone was very welcoming. We took a walk through the village to the local Inn (1.5miles), it was well worth the walk, just don't forget your torch.

Didn't think there were enough toilets/ showers and it was not clean. It was also noisy overnight with people arriving in motorhomes at 1am. There were dogs running loose with a large bully type dog with no lead on. Left a day early after an incident with my dog where it was approached aggressively by loose dogs, it affected our whole trip. Wouldn't recommend.

The site is friendly, well run and suited our requirements but was basic. Facilities were in need of some attention. Was expensive. Food was available but again expensive - £20 for a cheeseburger, chips and salad - tasty but seemed pricey.

Set in a beautiful spot, this park was an accidental but great find. Welcomed and shown around by someone who obviously loves the site. A basic breakfast was included in booking fee, which was a pleasant surprise on arrival. The only slight downside is the inadequate shower/toilet facilities, but with patience it is manageable. Would definitely go back if the chance ever presents it.

This is a nice site, if a little cramped when it's busy. They serve food on site, which we felt was a bit overpriced (£15 for soup and £20 for a burger/fish & chips) but would be convenient. The showers/loos need more frequent cleaning, restocking and maintenance. They were permanently dirty while we were there. There is fresh water available and is in a great location for the West Highland Way.

The position of this campsite is perfect, in that it is close to Loch Lomond and Glasgow. The site itself overlooks vast green hills and is a beautiful, truly Scottish landscape. The owner has turned his land into a campsite ( with and without electric hook ups) for the sole purpose of funding housing for the homeless, who are housed in an alternative site. You can purchase quality food at the main house, and seek warmth from the cold elements also. We couldn't have been more impressed with the entire set up, and would strongly recommend this site, to anybody, adding that their monies will be put to good causes. Hats off to the owner, for his selfless kindness.
