Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Lower Abereiddi Field) Sep 2023

We provisionally booked for one night but changed our mind and wanted to add an extra night, rang up and they added us on straight away. We arrived on the Friday and when we checked in we were greeted with smiles and the staff were very friendly and gave us lots of information on what was on the campsite and what was around and to do. The campsite was amazing! The views are incredible, we stayed on the lower aberiddi field and it was so peaceful and quiet. Watched the gorgeous sunset both nights and managed to get some stargazing in! The staff told us about the coastal path walk to a little town called Porthgain which my oftener and I did. Was a lovely long walk with hidden beaches and lagoons along the way. We even took a dip in the sea and saw a seal! An amazing holiday and will definitely be back again!

Beautiful views from the campsite. They allow campfires and dogs, which appealed to us.

1st trip in our camper. Wanted facilities in case things didn't work! In the end, all worked so not tested. Location excellent, booking and reception excellent. Quite busy but bank holiday weekend.

Beautiful location with the best views

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Quiet Field)Aug 2023

A really enjoyable stay. We booked it last minute for the August bank holiday weekend. Apparently there were near a 1000 people staying; so our we were really surprised at how nice it felt. Great facilities and the staff were all so helpful and friendly - special mention goes to chap called Gareth who clearly loved his work at Celtic Camping, giving us lots of useful info.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Pen Berry Field)Aug 2023

It is a great campsite with great facilities. Some facilities do look like they could need a loving touch but still clean and great. Nice they have a shop on site, the barn entertainment in the summer was fab too! We were lucky to enjoy the last one of the summer! Great fun! Overall, great campsite!

Site's response

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide a review and for sharing your experience with us! It was great to hear that you had a wonderful time at the campsite. We are so pleased that you picked up on the fact that the campsite provides great, clean facilities. We have taken on board some of the comments raised and just to let you know, those older facilities are due to be upgraded for next season. It's also great to hear that you enjoyed the barn entertainment during the summer - we were really fortunate to have Ross Gurney provide music for us every Saturday throughout the summer. It was also good to read that you enjoyed the on-site shop which we are able to open during peak camping periods, we know it is a bonus for many campers. We hope you had a wonderful time and look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Fantastic, will be coming back regularly!

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Pitches (Pen Berry Field)Aug 2023

Fantastic campsite in a beautiful setting, stunning views and the coast path right on the doorstep. Warm welcome from the incredibly helpful staff, the pitch we'd booked was straddled on both sides by neighbouring campers, leaving us no room to get in. The team came straight over and resolved the issue within minutes, finding us an alternative pitch with much more space. Lovely quiet, dog friendly site, we only stayed one night but it felt like a proper holiday. We will definitely be returning and would recommend it to anyone.

Great campsite, facilities might struggle if busy

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Upper Abereiddi Field)Aug 2023

We stayed here as a family (2 kids under 5 and a puppy!) and had a great time. The location is amazing, just off the coastal path near to the Blue Lagoon. The staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome. The facilities were adequate for our needs, but I imagine at busy times they might be overwhelmed. The pitches were good, but the campsite it very steep so if you struggle with walking up hills it might not be the place for you (but then again you're probably not going to come camping in Pembrokeshire!).

Storm Betty was a breeze thanks to the amazing staff

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Lower Abereiddi Field) Aug 2023

Great campsite and great facilities, brilliant stay. Holiday (group reunion) didn't get off to the greatest of starts with arriving late in the day of Storm Betty's wrath. We persevered and attempted to put the tent up but the 60mph winds were too much for the fibre glass poles on the first of 4 tents :/ soaked through we decided to take the lovely receptionist up on her offer of us renting a dormitory inside while the storm blew over. Only having to pay the difference when they would have been able to charge a premium due to the number of collapsed tents seen. So we (8 25-30s and 2 dogs) moved into the dorm. It was clean and tidy. Close to toilets which were also clean and tidy. Close to other amenities and ample parking. We enjoyed it so much and wanted to go explore the following day so we decided to upgrade our second night to save packing and unpacking again. All 10 dogs included had an excellent time and were blown away by friendliness of both staff and campers alike. I used to camp often around UK and France and from memory this is the best campsite I have ever stayed at. We are already looking at booking again for this year. Highly recommended.

Site's response

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide a review and for sharing your experience with us, especially off the back of Storm Betty. The one component of coastal camping during stormy weather is that you are exposed to the elements. But we are so fortunate to have plenty of hardened accommodation to offer those campers who are unable to stay in their tents when the weather turns that bad. And as you have mentioned, all we ask is the difference between the accommodation price and what you have already paid for camping. We appreciate your feedback regarding the accommodation and its cleanliness, as well as the proximity of the toilets and other amenities. We are thrilled to hear that you had a brilliant stay at the campsite and enjoyed the great facilities we have on offer. It's great to know that you found the staff and campers friendly and welcoming, we do pride ourselves on great customer service and a genuinely friendly manner. It's wonderful to hear that you are already planning to book again for this year and we look forward to seeing you.

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches (Amphitheatre Field)Aug 2023

Situated just north of St Davids with sea views. Lots of sites to choose from. We stayed in the Amphitheatre area next to the main facilities. Large barns which came in very handy when Storm Betty came crashing though. Lots of people stayed safe in barns which have toilets showers and lighting. There is a small shop on site and a direct path to the beach and coastal path. They have most things on site anyone could need and a short drive or taxi to St Davids or Milford Haven for more shopping. Short walk along the coastal path to Blue Lagoon. Also have on site kayak hire.

Spacious, friendly and accomodating

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Lower Abereiddi Field) Aug 2023

Very big campsite, friendly staff, lovely clean facilities, showers are good. Fridges, and freezers, charging facilities, washing machine and tumble dryer at no extra cost. I had a wonderful stay at the campsite, felt safe and comfortable. They were accommodating when I needed them to be and supportive and helpful. I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely return again, in fact I absolutely plan to do just that. Perfect location for exploring the South West Coastal path and some gorgeous coves, I even saw seals. Remote, wild and utterly breath taking location, I was in awe. Thanks for a great stay guys!

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Lower Abereiddi Field)Jul 2023

Just got back from our stay and the site is absolutely beautiful! All the facilities were spotless all week and the staff were so friendly and helpful! they went out of their way to help and nothing was too much for them to do (including letting us watch the football on site after ringing round local pubs for us to find out if anyone was showing the match)! They genuinely seem to want to help you enjoy your holiday and the staff are a real credit to the business! it is a basic campsite, but it is advertised as that and has everything you need camping. It's on the coast path and the staff are happy to point you in the direction of good beaches/walks, etc. We ended up cutting the trip short by a day because of a storm coming in and not believing our tent would survive, but otherwise would have been happy staying longer if we could. I would definitely go back!

Slightly disturbed nights

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Lower Abereiddi Field) Jul 2023

We chose a field close to amenities and sheltered as it was wet and windy, but realised we were very close to a field with bird scares for crops (loud bangs) which went on till 9pm. I would have liked to be warned about this with young children. Great facilities with large inside space including hot water and toasters, phone charging. Option of food served. Option to put up several tents and camping in any of the fields. On the third night, a large group stayed for 2 nights in the next field with loud music etc into the early hours. The reception spoke to them the next day but unfortunately the group continued to disturb us all the following night so we had to move our tent with children to a further away field late in the night. Obviously, the site has no control over the selfish actions of large groups and it was unlucky that we and other campers in the surrounding fields had this experience. It would have been nice to have drying room and hair dryer available given the wet weather.

Pretty views over sea

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches (Lower Abereiddi Field)Jul 2023

The views were spectacular. However, for the money, it wasn't up to my standard with the shower and toilet facilities as I felt they were very old, run down and not a clean as I like. The showers were hot and had a heavy water flow which was good though. I wouldn't go back because of this reason as I've stayed in other beautiful sites where the facilities were much better, but for the location, it is lovely with a nice coastal walk. There was only one wash machine and dryer which took ages. The shop was pretty sparse too.

Beautiful views and a friendly feel

A friendly campsite, with amazing views. Nobody blasting music out all night or drunken antics. The toilets could have done with a decent clean, but other than that it was a great place to stay.

Breathtaking views and blissfully chilled

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Pitches (Upper Abereiddi Field)Jul 2023

The perfect getaway to properly switch off. I booked this for my husband's birthday and we stayed here with our dog. The site is situated right on the coastal path with the best views over the Irish Sea and over to Abereiddy. The reception staff were great and the facilities were perfect.

Fantastic stay at Celtic Camping. From the moment we arrived, we were made for feel very welcome. Lovely staff, very knowledgeable of the area and happy to provide us with all the information we needed to explore the area, including a weather forecast for each day. The pitches were well maintained and had fabulous sea views and we were lucky to have some incredible sunsets during our stay. The facilities were good, we particularly liked the large common room, which has ample sedating for those rainier days. Location was perfect, with a short walk to the blue lagoon and access to the Welsh coastal path. Overall a fantastic stay, we would definitely recommend and hope to plan a trip again soon.

Outstanding view and beautiful walks along the cliff

Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Upper Abereiddi Field) Jun 2023

If you are looking for a remote camping site away from it all! Celtic camping is perfect, this is a huge site close to the blue lagoon, the views are incredible and the cliff top walk is stunning, the sunset and sunrise are def not to be missed. Location is very close to St David's which is a stunning little city, however, the facilities are limited. They have shower blocks which are ok but there is no shop or any other facility, make sure you bring what you need for the evening as it's located on a small country lane and a 4-mile walk into St David's. But def recommend a stay here for the remoteness and view x

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Lower Abereiddi Field)May 2023

First the positives - the view is amazing and the location fantastic - an hour walk to the Blue Lagoon and a 10 min drive to St Davids. Negatives - It was filthy. Two toilet blocks are not enough for the number of people staying there (must have been into the hundreds). The staff cannot keep up with the cleaning after this many people. People didn't seem to care that there were others wanting to use the facilities after them. People were observed washing their feet in the bathroom sinks and then not cleaning up after themselves, plus washing food waste into the sinks which caused blockages. To quote another camper (unrelated to us) "I don't know what's the matter with people". We could not get out of there fast enough. The rubbish was being blown out of the recycling skips all over the site. Goodness knows what it will be like in the height of summer. Will not be returning. If I could enter zero stars for cleanliness and facilities, then I would.
