Beautifully managed campsite with clean facilities. The bell tent was spacious with a comfortable mattress and the fairy lights and outside solar lighting was pretty. Adele and Paul were very welcoming and made sure we had plenty of wood and water. The shower was nice and hot! The sound of the stream was very relaxing and we appreciated the sun loungers. We saw goldcrests and long tailed tits in the trees above us (as well as the usual robins) and a green woodpecker in the woods and a red kite further up the hill, by the Roman fort. All in all, a great stay! Our only request for future visitors would be to provide an inventory of what people need to bring and what is provided, as we brought things we didn't need and didn't bring warm bedding (some was provided but it was light but Adele leant us a couple of sleeping bags, so all was fine!)
Beautiful location, lovely campsite!

Such a beautiful location. We were pitch 4 by the yurts, lovely and peaceful. 360 views, all gorgeous country. Lots of walks for the dog. Excellent place, we shall visit again! Thank you Adele and Wenallt!

Such an amazing weekend! Made a mistake with my booking but the owner sorted it. Lovely, peaceful site, plenty of room for rounders and football! The already on site gazebo came in handy for the drizzly morning. Our large group fitted under int perfectly.

We stayed in one of the bell tents and what a lovely stay we had. Nothing is to much trouble for the owners and the place is spotless and peaceful, definitely will be returning again. I only booked for one night but was sorry I didn't book longer. The place is lovely and clean and peaceful. If you're looking for some relaxation, this is the place, it's a little gem.

We all enjoyed our stay here and will be back. Great facilities, warm showers, lawns are beautifully kept. Fire pit provided and the bags of wood also had fire lighters and kindling inside. Couldn't have asked for more. The stars from up there at night were absolutely amazing too. We enjoyed meeting the owners, they were so welcoming. Hopefully we'll be back soon, the kids really want to try horse riding.
Super friendly management, amazing location, excellent accommodation (huts for us)

For its vibe, location, views and the karma, I think that Wenallt is amazing and the huts at least should be considered as a viable option even, to local hotel or airbnb accommodation. Facilities are basic, but complete and clean. Although it's presented as a *wild* camp, the public areas of the site are beautifully maintained (groomed even). The 'hut enclosure' has a covered outdoor-kitchen with a cooker and everything you need for a camp meal (well, except the food) all included in the price. The family that runs the site are all super-friendly and engaged in putting their new venture on the map, so nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend the huts unreservedly. The bits of the site we didn't explore (camping, motor homes, yurts) looked just as nice. We're coming back.

It all depends on what you want. If it's easy access, modern shower and toilet facilities, electric hook-ups, laundry and freezers, then this is not the place to come. If, however, you prefer a remote location with breath-taking views, very friendly hosts, loads of room for camping and just the basics, then we couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Remember to stock up on provisions, though. Even though Tonna village and Neath itself are a short distance away, that distance is a steep drive and (at our age!) not somewhere we would want to walk carrying shopping. Definitely worth a stop.
Really lovely site

Lovely and accommodating staff, beautiful scenes around the site. Toilets and showered have been kept to a good standard. Site is close to local attractions, although would say it's a very hilly walk back from the local village. Apart from that, would 100% recommend the sight to anyone, had a really nice stay.

Lovely, relaxed, family-run campsite in a fantastic, quiet location with beautiful views. Large grass pitches for tents, clean eco toilets and a sink for handwashing, showers and a separate area for dishwashing. The whole site is just naturally lovely with a stream running parallel, providing a natural water supply for the site. Drinking water was also supplied when we arrived and we pitched our tent for the full wild camping experience, but if you do fancy a bit more luxury, there are glamping tents and Shepherd huts for hire also. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay and will definitely be back later in the summer for a week 😀

This space is amazing, it has lovely views. I took my dogs and there was plenty of space for my tent and my dogs, with shops not too far away.

Great location and views. Nice for an off-grid camp. Composting toilets were clean. Didn't try the showers, but would recommend flip flops for them as they are basic/rustic. Super-friendly staff who run family business and are happy to stop and chat, and check you are enjoying your stay. The only downside for me is there was no adult only space.

Quick two night stay at Wenalt Wild Camping with an 11 year old keen to try our tent whatever the weather😂. Heavy rain and realising in the middle of the night that our tent needed re-proofing didn’t detract from a nice stay at this super-friendly family run campsite. Facilities are good - compost loos, showers with hot water, nice, covered outdoor cooking area, fire basket / pit - you can buy firewood from the owners. Easy to get to as near M4 but feels secluded. Beautiful views. Nice walks nearby and within 20mins drive of beach. Would recommend this…we’d definitely come back. Thanks to Adele, Beiron and family for the friendly welcome.

We stayed in the bell tent as a family of 4, two adults and two children. We timed it just right and had some beautiful weather. The pre-pitched bell tent with beds was great, as it meant we could turn up, put our bags down and go. We really enjoyed the secluded and peaceful site, perfect if you are wanting to get away from things and really immerse yourself in nature. It was great to have a barbecue and fire pit to use and we enjoyed cooking outside whilst we stayed in the bell tent. All the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.

Overview - highly recommend! Lovely location, fantastic and friendly owners, excellent value for money. Had planned this trip for a while but left booking quite late. Hadn't even looked at campsites until a few days before so left it very late expecting all the best places to be taken. Booked Wenault Wild Camp as it was near to where we wanted to go and looked nice but didn't really do much research other than that. I myself was late to arrive but the rest of my party were on time and warmly welcomed by the owners and shown to our pitch. The field itself is massive with plenty of space for multiple groups without feeling crammed in. Each pitch has it's own firepit and there is a communal shelter near the top of the field. The view is stunning and on a good day you will be able to see for miles. The compost toilets, whilst basic, are more than ample and most importantly clean, dry and tidy, with hand washing facilities available just outside. There are also showers onsite, which is a great addition to any camping experience. There is secure parking in the field so there is no need to carry all of your camping gear miles, which was very beneficial when we had to dodge the rain setting up. The rural location is another key part to the appeal of this site. You have the perks of being out in the middle of nowhere with nothing but the sound of birds singing and the stream that runs through the site whilst also only being about 15 minutes from Neath and the associated shops. There are plenty of local walks from the campsite to keep you entertained with walks such as the 4 Waterfalls and Pen-y-fan about a further 20-30 minutes away. There was also another camping field with pretty much the same set up plus, should you wish to enjoy a more luxurious camping trip, there's also a more private field with Shepard's huts etc, which looked great. Throughout our stay, the owners brought us drinking water and checked to see everything was ok with our stay. I simply can't fault anything during our stay. This is a wonderful local family run business that deserves so much more support. If you're reading this trying to decide whether or not to book - go for it! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you very much for everything, we wish you the best of luck and look forward to seeing how the site develops from here.
Peaceful, tranquil
