Stayed for one night to visit the Saltdean Lido nearby for their dog event. It was in a really convenient location, near to Peacehaven & Rottingdean beach. The Tesco express is just a 15 minute walk, which was great as we forgot a few bits. Clean showers & toilets. Great stock of BBQ pans, huge field with many pitches. The view was just insane, we were very lucky to get a great pink sunset which overlooked Peacehaven and the sea. Also a great view of the surrounding hills. When driving in and out we passed lots of cute animals including alpacas!

Superb, peaceful site in a great remote feeling location, yet still close to places to visit nearby. Basic facilities (as advertised) but clean nonetheless. Definitely recommend!

Basic and functional as we wanted. Feel there could be another toilet block maybe for the number of guests? Didn't love how windy it is up there but it's where it is obviously, so no fault there. Lovely and quiet, which we love. Would recommend 😀

Beautiful views over fields and out to sea, big skies, right next to a lovely nature reserve. Nice and clean facilities, even quickly cleaned up in the morning after someone (not us) had a big night!

We absolutely loved this campsite. Beautiful elevated position with views of the sea and the downs. Short bike ride to Saltdean, where we enjoyed a swim in the lido and a lovely meal in the Art Deco café afterwards. We will be back.

Stud Farm provided the perfect overnight stop for us. The views are superb and the surroundings very remote and peaceful. Then it is 15 minute walk down the farm track to get a bus into Brighton. This might not be ideal in the wet but fine while it was dry. The modest facilities provided everything we needed although the showers were cold. It's good for you though :)

Peaceful but lack of information and people of the campsite

The place is really beautiful and peaceful, but nobody showed up to welcome us, nor to indicate the path to the supermarket or to the sea. I sent an email before, an SMS and left a voicemail to know what to do since we arrived after reception time and had no answer. When there, people who ran the camping seemed to be on the site the day after, but stayed in the car and no one went to see me. The sanitaries are ok, but very very little water in the shower due to the difficulties of the location. On the second day, the sink was taped and stayed taped until we left.

A lovely campsite with an amazing view of the sea. Very quiet and lots of bird life. Lovely walk to the sea across the downs. Can be a bit exposed and windy.

No hot water on shower and water supply was intermittent. Also, no lights in shower area. Also, disappointed to pay £16 for fire starters when they can be bought in Newhaven for just £2. Price for stay was not too bad. Fun fire pits for hire. Great location.
Site's response
We are sorry that you found some of our facilities disappointing. Unfortunately the trade off for the amazing location and views, being right on top of the downs, is that the campsite has basic facilities, as clearly advertised, which means there are no hot power showers available. Just to be clear for those reading this review, our fire lighting kits priced at £16 consist of a large bag of logs & kindling, fire lighters & matches, again as detailed with the added convenience of having it all delivered to your pitch. I am not clear how you found all of that in Newhaven for £2.
Lovely location

Brilliant views all around of open countryside and the sea. Not far from the coast path or Brighton. Facilities are basic, but nice and clean, and the staff were relaxed but helpful. Would recommend for a short stay.

Just returned after a two night stay at Stud Farm camp site in Telscombe near Brighton. The site has fantastic views from its elevated position on the South Downs. As it is at the end of a road, there is no through traffic which makes it very quiet. Check-in was easy and friendly, the facilities are exactly as described and very clean. Despite the quiet location, it is just a walk down the hill to the seafront, shops and the lovely Lido at Saltdean. . It is also well positioned for walking along the South Downs. We would happily return to Stud Farm Campsite, thank you.

Myself & my partner stayed here for 2 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There are many plots so you can spread out and don't feel on top of other campers. The toilet & shower facilities were spotless and well stocked with hand soap, toilet roll and cleaning products. Washing up area had soap and sponges for use as well. The location is beautiful, a view of the sea and the countryside makes this location a 10/10 from me. Beautiful walks all around the campsite and you can walk into the nearest town. We took a day trip into Brighton which was only 30 min drive away. All in all a brilliant location with amazing views and brilliant facilities. We would 100% stay here again.

The location is fantastic and the view stunning. Our first night and day was very windy, so not as tranquil as the second, but we enjoyed both and the sheep kept us entertained! The one negative thing about the site was how stony the ground was. Very difficult for us to pitch but we got there in the end. A pre-warning would have been welcome as I could have brought along some more robust tent pegs. Lesson learned - be prepared! Other than that would highly recommend and would definitely go back. Very happy campers 😊

Stud Farm is an amazing campsite perched at the top of a hill with incredible views out over the sea. It's very much back to basics, but the facilities which are there are well maintained and clean. Would highly recommend!

Stud Farm campsite is set in a beautiful location in the heart of Sussex and is ideal for a peaceful getaway. It has a wonderful blend of being far away from regular civilisation but walkable enough to the nearest town if you want regular human contact. The farm itself has stunning views, ideal for couples and dogs also. The staff were extremely welcoming and on hand at regular visits throughout the day, without being too intrusive and left you to enjoy your stay and the peaceful surroundings. Fire pits and local produce are available on request and the walk to Peacehaven is worth doing if you fancy taking in the sea. Would highly recommend to any couple looking for a peaceful and relaxing camp experience.

Lovely, quiet, tranquil spot for back to basics but with the luxury of a slightly erratic showers. Facilities were spotlessly clean. Views amazing, you can either see sea or rolling hills. Good spot for a 30/40 mins walk cross country to Saltdean Beach. Will be back.

This place is wonderful. Beautiful views and clean loos. They have a couple areas for doing washing up and drinkable water on site. I do wish they have added a warning about the quickest route from Brighton to the farm being such a poor road. The bottom of our car is destroyed. There's no sign to say that's what's coming. There is a way to get to the farm from a kinder road, but then you're 45-50 minutes away, not 20-30 minutes, and that's not the way Googlemaps takes you. Would have been handy to add a note to guests about the winds being particularly high there and suggestions for a wind fence or something. Also, we rented a fire pit but it doesn't come with a poker or anything, which would be handy to know. Also, the walks to things are way further of a walk than we expected. That was disappointing because those things were part of the reason we chose that site. Finally, an earlier check in time would be appreciated because the day is almost gone by 14:00 then you're out by 11:00 so it's not even 24 hours, just enough time to set up, freeze your butt off, sleep, and then pack up to go. :/ The staff were lovely. Everyone was smiley and helpful.
